Please let this be a new series. A video dedicated to a list of mods for each race in Skyrim or even the factions in the game to make them more fleshed out. Or as just an excuse to have more fudgemuppet videos.
I'd love for this to be a series for every race. I'm sure some mods would be repeats, like Wintersun and Alternate Start, and I'm sure it'll be harder for some races who don't get as much love from the modding community. But it would be so great to have 10 videos in a playlist that display mods adding armors, player homes, and immersive world building elements for each race to refer to when making new characters.

I love how you interpreted the merged architecture style as being emblematic of Telvanni attitudes of Might makes Right for wizards. I'll forgive you for mispronouncing my name :P
Do not forget "Beyond Skyrim: Morrowind"! It's not out yet, but "The New North" (whose like Bruma for Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil) will come sooner ! (In "Beyond Skyrim: The New North" we will be able to visit the multiple isles in the north of Morrowind) It will be a great mod for a Dark Elf playthrough
Honestly the main thing I'm hyped for about beyond skyrim is the sheer amount of race based dialogue seen in previews and snapshots. Having people respond to your race is a huge part of immersion and role playing
Windhelm Expansion Gray Quarter by Robin959 is also a great addition if you are looking for more Dunmer representation! It’s underrated considering how much it adds including a player home.
There's "Arma Thalmoris" for the gear, "Quest Notes - Roleplay as a Thalmor Agent", "The Second Great War" and a few more. Alternate Start lets you start as a Thalmor agent.
Something that’s worth mentioning regarding Wintersun; Sheogorath worship is an enormous shitpost. Every time you pray you get one of about a hundred Madness effects, from spawning a dozen werewolves around you, TPing you to a random location, to literally just dropping you out of the sky and killing you. To my knowledge, you have a chance to access worshipping him every time you pick up cheese.
This is awesome, ive been looking for some more roleplaying mods and these are perfect. I am considering a dark elf play through after the one im currently playing. Please make this a series for the other races!
hey fudges! you might wanna take a look at this expansion called Fat Skrim. It aims to add playable content behind Skyrims border gates and will cover areas in Hammerfell, Orsinium, High Rock and Morrowind. What the authors released so far looks really good. Seems like a hidden gem to me:)
One armor mod that is perfect for Dunmer characters is the Telvanni Spellsword Armor mod. It's great for if you want to play as a Telvanni Dunmer character who uses both weapons and magic.
Another cool racial overhaul mod is PaleNoise's Palladium Racials. It not only makes the difference races more unique, but it even lets you pick between the different houses and ashlander tribes to start with, each act almost like their own race. For example a Redoran Dunmer would have Traits more suitable for a warrior, while a Telvanni Dunmer would have more mage focused abilities.
I was literally watching your weapons mod when this popped up! Perfect timing! I've been absolutely loving the higher quality videos these days! Some of these mods are definitely getting added to my list. Quick question, do you guys know if the Daedric Shrines mod is compatible with Wintersun?
Not sure if it has been covered previously since it's an older mod, but Bonemold Expanded is absolutely essential to my Dunmer playthroughs. There are unique sets for each great house (even including Dagoth) and the new shields in particular are really cool and offer a lot of variety.
All of these are very well known already and can be found on the top mods page. We should be looking at the less known authors that don't have the monopoly on the genre of mod. Look at Palladium Racials, has a different bonus for every Dunmer tribe!
I had to Google what mods were when I started playing, then Google how to get them, then Google about what they do to the game….and I can promise you, I had no idea this kind of stuff existed. I’m pretty sure I just use the patch one, a better loot one, and a faster leveling one. I also still don’t know who or what the creation club is, and how in the world did I end up this deep into something I know basically nothing about?! But, I am gonna try playing a dark elf now. Hopefully it isn’t as horrific as my Khajiit experience 😣
Also, there's an extension to the Alternate Start mod (don't remember the name of the mod author) that adds about 12 more starts to the list of options. It's super cool.
Everyone calls em boring, but I love them. Dunno why, always find myself playing as them, played some other races but still. They're culture and history are cool and they're the average Joe which isn't a bad thing in my eyes, keep it simple. Plus they're average height like myself.

Palladium Racials Is great for any race but especially Dunmer since you can choose your house or tribe and get passive bonuses and gear depending on which you chose.
I love your build videos, I'm currently using your Viking build for a Stormcloak playthrough. I would absolutely LOVE an Empire centric build to counter it for my next playthrough. I'll admit I've never finished an imperial playthrough because I've had trouble getting a build to fit the story line. I would love to see what you guys could put together for an Imperial Dragonborn.
Since imperials are supposed to be quite versatile you could go with pretty much anything. - A disillusioned and bitter ex-legionnaire. - A thief who found Cyrodiil became a bit too "hot" after a botched heist. - A young mage out to make their name and gain power. - A bard come to Skyrim to collect songs, tales and maybe woo some fair maidens and/or strapping lads along the way.
there was this really good oldrim mod called "bonemold expanded" that never got ported to SE which is a shame, it would have been perfect for this list
A couple of mods that I think alot of people will appriciate as well (if not mentioned already) is the Morrowind Imports and Bonemold and Chitin Weapons mods. They are great if you want to roleplay as a dummer with Bonemold/Chitin armor/weapon crafting knowlodge or just so you can actualy justify the usage of these armors early in the game instead of having to break immersion and go to Solstheim to get the ingredients.
Amazing video! I would love to see Warrior of the Reclamations build remade with these aesthetics 😊. Or a new one for that matter, maybe Camonna Tong bruiser?

Suggestion: Bloodstone Cave, a Dunmer themed player home just west of Falkreath, which would be well suited to an assassin or necromancer, or Daedric acolyte.
Im surprised this wasn't in the video but Bonemold Armors Expanded or Extended is a really good armor mod too because it's adds the old Morrowind Armors plus new ones for Great House Sadras and really adds that Morrowind vibe
Kazulan. Champion of Boethiah, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, Dragonborn, the Ebony Warrior's lover, and Deadric Princess of Justice & Vengeance. Born in Morrowind before the eruption of Red Mountain, her family survived and was forced to migrate to Windhelm where they suffered the greatest cruelty of the Nords. By the time she came of age her family was all gone. Kazulan found the strength to carry on through the teachings of the Cult of Boethiah nearby, eventually usurping and becoming their champion, but destroying the entire cult in the process. Now equipped with the Ebony Mail, Kazulan took Boethiah's teachings to heart and sought more power, eventually coming into the fold of the Dark Brotherhood, embracing her new family, and becoming their Listener. But the schemes of others ensured their downfall despite her. Once again without purpose, Kazulan turned to mercenary work, developing her own adage "Vengeance & Justice are two sides of one heavy coin." until facing her first dragon, whom she slew and promptly devoured the soul thereof. Heeding the call of the Greybeards she learned many Words of Power, and devoured many more dragon souls. Eventually she even defeated Alduin, attracting the attention of the Ebony Warrior. Finding eachother very similar in purpose and skills but seperate in sheer power, Kazulan made the Ebony Warrior her follower and gifted him the Ebony Mail, naming him the Shadowed Champion. On their many adventures the pair found their way to Solstheim, defeated Miraak at the cost of her Champion's life, and deceived Hermaeus Mora into allying with her. With the knowledge of Apocrypha at her disposal and a newfound purpose, Kazulan found the means to create her own personal plain of Oblivion, which she named Familial Wrath. She adorns herself with Blood Gown (deadric plate armor), Bone Mane (dragonbone helmet), Wyvern's Courage (Lightning bone sword) & Demon's Fury (fire deadric sword). Now nigh unstoppable, Kazulan offers her bloody service to the most scorned person of all on the globe.
AHO and Moon and Star should have made the list. Quest mods with new locations revolving around Dunmer and lore. Also Tel Nata 2 is an excellent build your own mushroom tower ^^ I
Kthonia's Unique Weapon Pack - Dragonborn Weapons, add Chitin weapons to the game. Also Dragonborn Is A Part Of Skyrim, and mods like this add the Dunmer clothing and armor to the Skyrim world so you will see Dunmer NPCs wearing the Solstheim clothing and armor.
Surprised at no mention of the "Ritual Armor of Boethiah" mod. Alternative to the Ebony Armour the full set is Light Dragon Scale with added Mask and Cloak giving a debuff power of Spite and Sneak boost. And it's lore friendly. On the Nexus so look it into it. Or not. "As you will it so shall it be."
Amazing, definitely going to install some of these when I get bored of my current vanilla survival orc Nightblade. Dunmer are my favourite race, so along with Frostfall etc, being a nomadic ashlander hunter, alchemist and soul merchant, making money from selling souls and potions/poisons. Edit: now wondering if it's possible to use the campfire mod framework to make a mobile player home transportable by a pet guar.

13:42 Is this really all that lore friendly though? The guy living here (forgot his name) is a very old, very reclusive, _powerful_ mage. I feel like the only people he's letting anywhere near his home are his apprentices. (and the Dragonborn of course) Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he'd wanna turn it into a small village with a decent amount of other people living there.
Gonna have to wait until they fix Skyrim lol. Another patch broke all other mods (or at least a majority of them) Also! I like playing as an Argonian with the Brutish Argonian mod and the wearable dragon horns and tails to really make them look like a DnD Dragonborn race dovahkiin. I'm definitely interested in roleplaying an Argonian that was born with dragons blood that affected his appearance and so has resulted in him being shunned and feared. (He ends up becoming a follower of Arkay and can usually be found in the ruins of Skyrim, purging the undead with gifts of the Light aedra and daedra.

You guys should really reccomend Simonmagus' mods more. I would argue that Pilgrim, Aetherius and Mundus are better alternatives to Enaisaion's (minimalistic) mods. Also Alternate Perspectives is better than Alternate Start.

not related but i would like to know if anyone else figured out who you are in the elder scrolls V Skyrim. in oblivion we were a nobody. in marrowind we were the chosen one. in skyrim though we were everyone. we were the listener, dragonborn, oblivion walker, champion, hero of the stormcloaks/imperials, quinahrim of the dawnguard, the third nightningale, and others. the point I think isn't that we were the Dragonborn or the chosen one but that we were everyone at once. there are some quests dialogue that contradict this but its clear that dialogue isn't the intention for how the game is meant to play out. i think this is one of the most clever part of skyrim's setting that nobody talks about.

Wintersun tribunal patch, I worship the three saints, for they weakened the chimer, and now the dunmer will cull the weak and grow in strength, becoming akin to their chimer ancestors.
I think on elder scrolls 6 Bethesda should let you design your characters parents instead of your own character. Just imagine you create your characters Dad, you choose him to be an Orc. You make him look how you want, then you design your mother and you decide she should be a Dark Elf. Then the game should give your character a 50/50 blending of them both to create your character. Your race skills and attributes should be a blending of the two races. You should get comments from other characters about your mixed race status. This would make some interesting role play elements! It'd be so much more interesting than the standed character creation in most games. Unique characters!

The nature flower, shrubs and nature mod is definitely a must.

I find it funny that one of the followers in the Ashlander camp is named Dremyn when you're Hand of Almalexia build is also named Dremyn.
To bad he didn’t cover the wintersun tribunal patch. Allows you to worship vivec, sothasil, and almelexia. Great for a tribunal remnant build

Born in Morrowind before the eruption of Red Mountain, her family survived and was forced to migrate to Windhelm where they suffered the greatest cruelty of the Nords. By the time she came of age her family was all gone. Kazulan found the strength to carry on through the teachings of the Cult of Boethiah nearby, eventually usurping and becoming their champion, but destroying the entire cult in the process. Now equipped with the Ebony Mail, Kazulan took Boethiah's teachings to heart and sought more power, eventually coming into the fold of the Dark Brotherhood, embracing her new family, and becoming their Listener. But the schemes of others ensured their downfall despite her. Once again without purpose, Kazulan turned to mercenary work, developing her own adage "Vengeance & Justice are two sides of one heavy coin." until facing her first dragon, whom she slew and promptly devoured the soul thereof. Heeding the call of the Greybeards she learned many Words of Power, and devoured many more dragon souls. Eventually she even defeated Alduin, attracting the attention of the Ebony Warrior. Finding eachother very similar in purpose and skills but seperate in sheer power, Kazulan made the Ebony Warrior her follower and gifted him the Ebony Mail, naming him the Shadowed Champion. On their many adventures the pair found their way to Solstheim, defeated Miraak at the cost of her Champion's life, and deceived Hermaeus Mora into allying with her. With the knowledge of Apocrypha at her disposal and a newfound purpose, Kazulan found the means to create her own personal plain of Oblivion, which she named Familial Wrath. She adorns herself with Blood Gown (deadric plate armor), Bone Mane (dragonbone helmet), Wyvern's Courage (Lightning bone sword) & Demon's Fury (fire deadric sword). Now nigh unstoppable, Kazulan offers her bloody service to the most scorned person of all on the globe.

Kthonia's Unique Weapon Pack - Dragonborn Weapons, add Chitin weapons to the game. Also Dragonborn Is A Part Of Skyrim, and mods like this add the Dunmer clothing and armor to the Skyrim world so you will see Dunmer NPCs wearing the Solstheim clothing and armor.

Surprised at no mention of the "Ritual Armor of Boethiah" mod. Alternative to the Ebony Armour the full set is Light Dragon Scale with added Mask and Cloak giving a debuff power of Spite and Sneak boost. And it's lore friendly. On the Nexus so look it into it. Or not. "As you will it so shall it be."

I like the mod Tel Nalta for a Telvanni wizard tower. You grow it yourself.
Amazing, definitely going to install some of these when I get bored of my current vanilla survival orc Nightblade.
Dunmer are my favourite race, so along with Frostfall etc, being a nomadic ashlander hunter, alchemist and soul merchant, making money from selling souls and potions/poisons.
Edit: now wondering if it's possible to use the campfire mod framework to make a mobile player home transportable by a pet guar.

13:42 Is this really all that lore friendly though? The guy living here (forgot his name) is a very old, very reclusive, _powerful_ mage. I feel like the only people he's letting anywhere near his home are his apprentices. (and the Dragonborn of course) Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he'd wanna turn it into a small village with a decent amount of other people living there.
Gonna have to wait until they fix Skyrim lol. Another patch broke all other mods (or at least a majority of them)
Also! I like playing as an Argonian with the Brutish Argonian mod and the wearable dragon horns and tails to really make them look like a DnD Dragonborn race dovahkiin. I'm definitely interested in roleplaying an Argonian that was born with dragons blood that affected his appearance and so has resulted in him being shunned and feared. (He ends up becoming a follower of Arkay and can usually be found in the ruins of Skyrim, purging the undead with gifts of the Light aedra and daedra.

You guys should really reccomend Simonmagus' mods more. I would argue that Pilgrim, Aetherius and Mundus are better alternatives to Enaisaion's (minimalistic) mods.
Also Alternate Perspectives is better than Alternate Start.

not related but i would like to know if anyone else figured out who you are in the elder scrolls V Skyrim. in oblivion we were a nobody. in marrowind we were the chosen one. in skyrim though we were everyone. we were the listener, dragonborn, oblivion walker, champion, hero of the stormcloaks/imperials, quinahrim of the dawnguard, the third nightningale, and others. the point I think isn't that we were the Dragonborn or the chosen one but that we were everyone at once. there are some quests dialogue that contradict this but its clear that dialogue isn't the intention for how the game is meant to play out. i think this is one of the most clever part of skyrim's setting that nobody talks about.

Wintersun tribunal patch, I worship the three saints, for they weakened the chimer, and now the dunmer will cull the weak and grow in strength, becoming akin to their chimer ancestors.
I think on elder scrolls 6 Bethesda should let you design your characters parents instead of your own character. Just imagine you create your characters Dad, you choose him to be an Orc. You make him look how you want, then you design your mother and you decide she should be a Dark Elf. Then the game should give your character a 50/50 blending of them both to create your character. Your race skills and attributes should be a blending of the two races. You should get comments from other characters about your mixed race status. This would make some interesting role play elements! It'd be so much more interesting than the standed character creation in most games. Unique characters!
