I got myself the enttec usb pro mk2 because you can get dmx-in while being able to output dmx. That's a must with lightkey! Your venue has an etc express 48/96? Great! More faders for me! :D

Love the video. I'm trying to create a budget-friendly DMX setup with only 16 channels of DMX (USB SlimPar Washes). Most of the cheap interfaces I find don't work on MacOS or don't explicitly state their compatibility with Lightkey. Are there any you would recommend for such a small setup? Trying to avoid spending hundreds of dollars on something I may never use again.

Hello, I have the demo version of lightkey, and I have a chauvet slim par 56. I have a usb to dmx, and I plug the usb into my mac with a special adapter, then I plug my dmx out to my light. I would like to know, why doesn't it show up on lightkey, I can't control it, and I am confused with what art-net, sac, etc. What equipment do I need and how do I use it. Help would be appreciated!!! :)

Question, I've got the following lights for church: Stage Lighting: 8 lights on stage ceiling and 4 on the floor currently controlled by One Chevet DJ Obey 70. Lights are set as Master/Slave. 16 Stage Spots and 20 House Lights currently controlled by a Leviton MC 7524. (one DMX in). 4 Mini-Gobo Moving Head Light set up as Master/Slave. Currently these 4 Moving Heads are not connected to a control board... need to know how best to connect them. All of this with the intent to run with Lightkey. Question is, do I need just one control box/universe (i.e., DMXking Pro)? How best can I connect the Moving heads to our current set-up? Do I need a separate dmx box or splitter for the Moving heads? Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I'm trying not to have to hire an engineer. lol
We have a MacBook Pro we use for Ableton Live. If I run LightKey and Ableton on the same device and use Ableton to trigger Lightkey will that run smoothly or are we going to have to purchase a different MacBook?
Does it work when you direct the lights to the lightkey. Cause i bought a usb to dmx wire and i direct it to my computer but i can't control it. Whats wrong with it?
Would an Obsidian EP4 work with Lightkey? I may want to transition to ONYX in the future but Lightkey seems to be a great user friendly option for the time being. Or what sACN node would you recommend that would work with Lightkey and Onyx? would Prefer to have 2 to 4 dmx outputs.
Both great options, both will work. The ODE can be placed anywhere on the network, whereas the USB Pro will have to be plugged directly into the computer. The ODE takes a little more effort to configure. Both are good options.
Love your videos David. My main problem is moving lights are not smooth even if I select smooth in position key. I've even hard wired dmx cables, it's still doing it. I have a dmxis box. I can't refresh rate because lightkey won't let you have open dmx and USB. Any thoughts?

Any of the network ones will work. For USB, I know the ENTTEC's will work

It sounds like maybe you need to install a driver for the dmxking unit, check the DMX king website for an installer

It does 24 channels in trial mode, I believe. But you DO also need a DMX interface to get DMX out to your lights.

Nope, they will run fine together.
Do you have a video of using Lightkey with Multitracks' Playback app?
I do not, but I know they can work together via MIDI control.

I would check and make sure that you have the drivers installed correctly for the USB-DMX. If that doesn't work, check with lightKey's tech support :)

I think you are using a box that isn't supported! You need to use a box that is supported by LightKey :)
