In this video I restore a really rundown preheat F20T12 lamp that was in an old house my father was remodeling in Coyoacán, Mexico City.
It dated back to the 1960's and, as expected, had a ton of old lightning equipment. This old lamp turned out to be an amazing DIY project for me!
Hope you like this video!

Very nice work! I remember my mother used to have these for growing house plants. She used to blue tubes (hard to find now!) I think they were called Gro-lite or something like that. Made by General Electric. Thanks for sharing! ☺💡💡💡
Wow! Never heard of those, but I suppose they let some UV radiation out for the plants to grow, right? It would be lovely to find one nowadays!
Thanks for commenting!
I love these kind of Pre heat lamps❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is awesome. I love pre heat lights.
How good job the fitting looks brand new now
I love old preheat fixtures. It's super hard to find t12 tubes now tho...
Love this video♥️♥️♥️
Thank you! ♥️
Your back!
Yup! Sorry for the delay, I was at school!
I actually have 2 recordings of a preheat Thorn lamp on my RUclips channel.
The old ballast for this fixture is the largest single lamp F20T12 preheat ballast for the North American market!!!
So over the summer I found 2 electronic dual F17 T8 fixtures and I paid $5 (USD) for both of them and I converted them to preheat and then installed them in my garage and the are running F17 T8 Phillips Alto II Daylight Deluxe Bulbs
Can you show us that bulb burning out
it was the old florescent fixing you have saved
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
:D
@@THEBULBHOME :D
At least you didn't convert it to leds, or I would rage in my room
Same haha
@@Imakeelectronicchaos Instead. convert led to preheat
@@WeNeedSomeMusic yep
@@WeNeedSomeMusic I changed the lighting of the workshop from LED to preheating. I like fluorescent lighting much more than LED, it works for about 30 years.
@@magnetron6 I converted an LED fixture to preheat
What about the bulb that had the loud transformer from almost a year ago
Clients decided not to go on with the remodeling, so it is still in the place where I filmed it...
I feel very sorry for you. That time out of life that is so precious spent on an old light fixture.
Better than your LED
@@Salimgaming27 Yes. I don't like LED's.
💡 🤍It was really fucked up bsh, nice job 🤍💡
Jajajajaja que onda, acabo de ver esto 😂😂. YT, llevensela, que palabras tan fuertes usa. Te amo. ❤
that light is very quiet compared to mine in the garage 😅😅
Are the metal parts loose
If it's loose then it causes vibration and noise
