Repairing multiple issues with an Asahi Optical Co. SMC Takumar 55mm F1.8 lens (m42). This is a partial dissasembly of the lens and we can see why taking care of lenses is important for longevity. Unfortunately the filter threads cannot be repaired because of the way it failed.
    Issues:
    -Collapsed filter ring (non-repairable)
    -Loose front barrel
    -Severe dust inside lens
    -Aperture ring too tight (stuck)

Nice video. Do you know if the Auto Revuenon 1.4 50 mc is radioactive?

Sorry, I have not tested that lens. If I get that lens, I will surely test it.

In most cases, only cleaning. Most of the time, it far cheaper to buy another copy in good working condition. (Unless its a Leica or rare camera).
