I just want to say to you Jim / James, Thank you so much for helping with my studies by your Videos. You're on a completely different level with every topic that interests me. Fair play to you buddy 🙂
I think it’s a really good thing to show the “not so impressive” or what you called it. It have helped me loads to roll up my sleeves and try (most often fail) to try and do things manually, sure automation is awesome but good to know what is actually happening and not only rely on ready scripts, 👨💻 🐱 awesome video like always mate keep it up and you also get a huge +1 in the Talos request by the other guy 😂
Would love to see you make a video on creating an RKE2 or K3s cluster using only the free tier components of Oracle Cloud. Even better would be making that run on Fedora CoreOS nodes, but Oracle Linux instances will do if necessary. Cheers
Omg this would be Devine. I tried it on my own recently and I’m getting query failure. I think dns is the issue. I’ll keep trying, if I get it I’ll pass it along for improvement.
You are not running MetalLB and Kube-VIP in the same cluster, right? MetalLB was in the K3s and Kube-VIP RKE2 cluster?! 🤔 Great content, thanks for the vids 🙋♂
Jim... Great video again. I tend to watch them all when the notification comes... It looks like the section blocks are from a different video and don't align with this video.
Great, thanks! Question, do you have rancher installed on that rke2 cluster you upgraded? I noticed that rancher (latest) can only be installed on k8s v1.28.0 at max.
Interesting@@Jims-Garage ! I have a cluster running with v1.28.4+k3s2 (yes, k3s). I can't install rancher because of this (tried using helm). It fails because it wants 1.28.0 at max.
@@Jims-Garage could be! I just looked at the current helm cart from rancher, it is explicitly set to 1.28.0 as max version. It could be that you installed it initially on a supported version and that updates are handled a little different. Thanks for thinking along though!
Hi. I have question in other topic than in movie. I want ask you ( as you know much about networks and it tech ) - it's possible that you make tutorials about live razzio ? It's very advanced Linux distro specialized to GNS3 software, emulating networks etc. problem is, that no one in Google, RUclips make tutorials for that. It's have wiki but very hard to understand how to use tools inside it. About GNS3 is many but for razio none. I think many people will be watch that and like i said, you're a probably network engineer and you can teach many how to use it. Sry for bad English and thanks for any info it's possible on your channel. Thanks for all work with movies to community on your channel!
@@Jims-Garagelive razzio sourceforge - RUclips will delete any comment with link ,:(( just search Linux live razzio and you find it easy. Hi. Thanks for great tutorials. Do you planned to review Talos Linux and their approach to build immune and secure kubernetes clusters?
Thanks, yes I'm going to move on to hardening in the near future and Talos seems interesting. I try to introduce things gradually.

Initially that was the case. Now both use both. There was an issue with not seeing the source IP. Metallb solved that.

Yes, everything is on the same cluster on latest branch (okay for a homelab, don't recommend in the real world)

Hey, thanks for the question. I'll have to be honest, I've never heard of razzio. If you have a link I'll check it out, sounds interesting.

kube-vip is responsible for HA (& lb) got control planes. Are you sure you want to delete it ?
Is this on Proxmox or are you running on Harvester?
Multi node Proxmox. I will cover Harvester later but it's a bit overkill for a homelab IMO (but awesome technology and fun to play with)
