Hex of Steel is completely amazing. Such a good turn-based hex war game, just quietly surpassing AAA titles in its gameplay quality. It’s basically a mega-upgrade of the Panzer General/Corps concept, with mechanics previously unheard of in a PG game, such as tech-tree research, faction policies and diplomacy. The scenarios can range from small 30x20 hex affairs, to entire theater maps of Europe or the Pacific. It has an integrated draw function which I use to create operational map graphics for large battles, a full editor and is very mod-friendly. The dev is actively supporting the game on a daily basis and is fully engaged and responsive. The big studios could learn a lot from all this! This is how war games used to be, back in the golden SSI days!
This comment defines pretty much what hex of steel is, and just as you say it is quite refreshing to see how Valentin is such a great and responsive developer always getting his game at the next level with each and every update. this wargame deserves much more attention from not only other fellow wargamers but even newcomers to the genre, truly a work of love and dedication, and he is always making it better, as I will not get tired to tell. Such a beautiful comment, thanks for watching, stay tuned! stay safe!

Lmao, I never thought someone would ever make a video where he reads the changelog on RUclips. Thanks for the vid, as always :)
