Hands down the fact they can rap, sing both normally and in opera and performed completely alone made them the clear winner. People are upset other countries didn’t win but the jury favoured this performance for a reason.

Yes they sing opera since they were a child and they had a big career as a rapper in Switzerland with 5 Swiss awards before switching to pop and songs in English.
I’ve seen them also singing Jazz in Swiss-German which is the worst language for jazz 😂 but they nailed it.
Why is it the worst language? Especially Bernese German is great for Jazz... Dschääss -:äu-äu-äu-äu-äää....

I cry every time I watch it, it's that heavenly and incredible. I love Switzerland man, I loved it before and I love it even more now. I could even see its beautiful mountains right behind him as he did the big operatic bit. I hope they do that next year when they host. I'll be there for sure, it will be my first time coming to a country to watch the Eurovision live, they can take my money!! As for Nemo, no words... you just want to cry when you see someone that is the light in the middle of all the density. They have brought light to this very troubled world.

Glad you're doing reactions again this season! I'm very proud of our Nemo (I'm Swiss - adopted), they are so great (Nemo is non-binary, named after Captain Nemo by Jules Vernes, not Nemo the fish - which came out after Nemo's birth). But I am also rooting for Baby Lasagna, Nebulossa and Bambi Thug. But I think Italy/Angelina Mango might win (and deservedly so)!

You're right, technically we use "he" as a pronouns for a singular man but in this case Nemo - the artist - identifies as non-binary and hence goes by the more gender neutral pronouns "they". Hopefully this helps a bit ^^

Yes, he actually comes from the hip hop rap scene! The boy not only rocked the Swiss battle rap scene when he was 14-15, he also had hip hop songs that were in the Swiss charts when he was 15-16. When he was about 17 or 18 he started singing in English! His songs Dance With My and Video Games were not only summer hits in Switzerland but also real catchy tunes!

I commented under a Nemo Video that this mixing of different music styles reminds me of Ren and that when I saw "Hi Ren" for the first time I thought: "Oh, a flamenco-punk-rap-indie-rock-opera!" 🎶 🤩 Love Ren & Nemo.
Actually I wish for a cooperation between Ren and Aurora for a while now and in a way Nemo fulfilled this wish by bringing their own special mix to the table.

I sure hope you are right that it's the favourite. When I look today (2 weeks later) I see that it is 3rd in the favourites. But that sure can't be. Nemo had been on a long quest to discover his gender, only to realize that he is neither male nor female - thus, non-binary. Because of this, he sings in his song that he found himself somewhere between the zeros and ones, possessing a non-binary gender. As is often the case in nature, not everything is simply black or white. It’s a truly great song that gives a voice and hope to the many millions of people who are intersex or non-binary, envisioning a better world free from discrimination and hate, with education and evidence-based science.
And yet you insist on misgendering them eh?
