Verdict: It's big, boldly styled, and bang-on what you'd expect from a flagship SUV from Infiniti.
Overview
Infiniti has deployed an all-new generation of its big QX80 flagship SUV, complete with fresh styling inspired by the QX Monograph concept vehicle. The new QX80 wears an imposing shape, with an upright front end, large-mouth grille and big wheels. Exterior lighting elements add drama and include two slim daytime running lights with a distinctive block pattern up front and a full-width light bar across the liftgate connecting the taillights. Under the hood is a 450-hp twin-turbo V-6 in place of last year's naturally aspirated V-8. The deluxe cabin features three rows of seats with a massaging function available for both the first- and second-row chairs. The interior can also be optioned with a system that utilizes an infrared sensor in the headliner to detect when a rear-seat passenger is too warm; it then automatically directs cool air from the climate control system toward that rider. Also available is a 24-speaker stereo tuned by high-end audio maker Klipsch. The new QX80 looks posh and has the right features to compete with big SUV rivals but accompanying the Infiniti's upgrades is a stiffer MSRP that reduces its price advantage over models such as the Cadillac Escalade and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class.

The QX80 begins a new generation with the 2025 model year. Look for it to arrive at Infiniti dealers in summer 2024.

The price of the 2025 Infiniti QX80 starts at $84.445 and goes up to $112.590 depending on the trim and options.
Pure: $84,445
Luxe: $91,545
Sensory: $102,640
Autograph: $112,590
The new QX80 follows a similar path as the mid-size QX60, with an entry-level Pure trim serving as the high-value model and the fully-loaded Autograph model bringing the poshest finishes. We think the mid-range Luxe is the way to go, as it adds nice-to-have features such as an air-spring suspension system, a head-up display, heated-and-ventilated first- and second-row seats, and handsome 22-inch wheels but avoids the six-figure price tag of the Sensory and Autograph models.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
All QX80s are powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 450 horsepower. Acceleration is brisk, and the engine's sound remains muted even under heavy throttle. A nine-speed automatic is standard, and Pure and Luxe trims can be had with either rear- or all-wheel drive; Sensory and Autograph models get all-wheel drive standard. An air-spring suspension system is included on all but the base Pure trim. While the air suspension does an admirable job of controlling body motions while cornering, there's no hiding the fact that the QX80 is a large, truck-based SUV. The ride can be a bit jarring over rough pavement, but otherwise the QX80 is well-isolated from the road and the cabin remains quiet during cruising.

We estimate the 2025 QX80 will hit 60 mph in as little as 5.3 seconds, which is quick considering the SUV's size. When we get a chance, we'll take the 2025 QX80 to our test track and update this story with test results.
