That was absolutely emotional when he spoke and what he's gone through congratulations for him to pass English and to achieve and I did cry when he spoke in front of everyone
Wish there was more teachers like mr burton. Teachers that inspire and capture imaginations and make things fun with jokes n humour. Something that alot of teachers lack. No wonder kids "hate" lessons
The AG I used to have a teacher very much like him for biology. He never sent homework (I think we only ever had one five minute assignment in the whole year), he made every single lesson one we looked forward to and he made sure we all understood what was going on and would help out at any moment if we needed it. He left the year after and we all went back again to disliking the subject 😂
My English teacher was like him, he always made sure I was ok when I had an off day with my anxiety and he put so much effort into making me a better person overall
Kids hate lessons because it's lead by capitalist pigs. Exam Boards are making questions that don't test your skill in that subject but only your knowledge on the exam board. The exam board is very clever with that. So teachers are with headaches, even with minimum pay to try save students to become successful. When the easiest fix could be to change the goal of the exam boards to aim towards accurate exams instead of money. School teachers are usually misunderstood for how clever they are. Most of the time, it's due to teachers being experts at exam boards.
well done for liking ya own comment , second why should i respect islam ? do u respect the nazis ? if not why not ? considering muhammed killed more innocent people than hitler has

but the VERY founder/creator of islam is muhammed ,and both the hadith and quran states how he murdered raped and married a child ,so no ,i wont respect a religion thats founded by a slave driving murderous paedophile
I had a severe stammer when I was younger too, and I was lucky enough to have an English teacher called Mr Fleck who was very similar to Mr Burton - he helped me so much to overcome the fear of my stammer, and I'll be eternally grateful to him. You never forget a teacher like that.
I find it totally unfair that someone with a bad stammer would have to do an oral exam and be judged on it. It's like marking down a one legged person because they couldn't do the high jump.
Thing is you aren’t doing a high jump everyday, but just about everyone talks everyday and so it is something that people with speaking issues should overcome it’s the same with people with behaviour issues cause if they don’t overcome it they won’t survive
And people wonder why I want to work with children and teens like him. Seeing the progress Musharaf made from not being able to get his words out to now being able to makes me absolutely proud. I can't wait to make children and teens make these kinds of accomplishments when I'm older 😭😭😭
+Becca Wildel he appears in some adverts on TV now with his old teacher as a sort of 'if I can, you can' type of advert. His stutter is hardly there anymore. It's really amazing :)

Wow! When Musharaf spoke in front of his whole class... that was such a profound moment! So glad he'd reached his goal, and I hope he'd reached his post-secondary goals as well!
I just googled him to see what he had become and when I read that he was a motivational speaker that just put the biggest smile on my face! That is so so cool!
In our school at GSCE level there were two halves: Y and X. Top of Y were the smart kids, Top of X were the somewhat bright/lazy kids. Bottom of X were the pupils with issues. Where you placed determined what exam you sat and what grade you could aim for. I'm guessing this series focuses on the lower tiers of kids. Just a guess.
How abslutely awesome to watch this now knowing that Musharaf is now a PUBLIC SPEAKER!!!!! Mr Burton is such an amazing teacher. I am absolutely blown away.
Go Musharaf!! x I'd love to know whether schools in England have access to a speech pathologist? Here in Australia students CAN be helped with speech difficulties through a specialist employed by the state education department. It seemed that wasn't the case at this school? Fabulous teachers and wonderful school! Congratulations x
There's this odd flaw in the health service (So far as England goes, I've no experience with Wales, Scotland or NI so I can't comment there) where some NHS services aren't available to those in full-time education. I actually had to drop out of college to get counselling for anxiety, because when in full-time education I had to go through my school to get counselling - And they had a waiting list about seven months long for a therapist, which wasn't what I needed. It's a weird system, I hope it's changed.
Aleswall That’s incredibly stupid considering higher education is usually the time where you need the most counselling. It doesn’t work like that in Scotland.
Wow..just watching these episodes the last week..leave me speechless. The amount of consideration and genuine love from these teachers is astounding. As a teen who struggled in high school as i was homeless and was very obviously falling into drugs and violence; if ANYONE had taken even a minute to talk to me it would have meant the world to me and probably changed my life..i saw so many kids, one with a similar stammer, just get bullied and pushed to the wayside, or suicide..myself included. The schools in the US are fucked, i dont think these incredible educators have an inkling of the real impact they make on these people. No wonder the UK is so much better off.
I completely resonate with those kids crying out of joy and pride for Musharaf. Even if kids weren't the best of friends, there's a special kind of attachment for your year group you literally spent 5 of your most formative years growing up from children to teenagers. So many good memories... Much love to KCS Class of 2003-2008
I was blown away when Musheraf did the speech for the first time! I remember my last day at comp school, we all had a meeting in the hall just like they did and at the end, there wasn't a dry eye in the room
