i love how Justin always shows the box and always takes a look at the accessories and tells us about his opinions, some people just make shorts of them flexing about the box and then edit out the part when they look at the accessories and just pose they’re figures. I really respect Justin for this :)

Love the MK IV, I have this set in sixth scale. Too bad it didn’t come with a full head sculpt and sun glasses. This was a great opportunity for Hot Toys to flex how great they can be by putting a little extra love in this. Oh well!

Justin, this is a very impressive piece of engineering. Only downside..... not USB powered. If it were, this Iron Man and Gantry would be one of the top figures dropped this year.

Wow! I'm impressed how Hot Toys made the weapon accessories hidden to itself like in the movie! I just hope they make that engineering also in 1/6 instead of swap outs. Great review bro!

If you do think about it, there wouldn't be any detail under the chest plate due to it just being a piece of metal on his chest to protect him. Whereas his faceplate has to light up so it has to have the detail.

Regarding the faceplate not looking lit up over the facesculpt, I actually solved the issue pretty well (imo) using whiteout over the lenses for my Mk43. Looks even more lit up than the other one does when it's not turned on, and if you need to remove the whiteout, I'm sure it would be easy.

I want to love this line, but ever since Mark 43 I feel like they've done the bare minimum in terms of improvements and called it a day. Reusing that head sculpt over and over is ridiculous, especially when it's not screen accurate. Oh well, maybe someday. Great work on the review!

This is the same head sculpt from the 1/4 scale Mark 42 except for forward looking eyes. Same battle damage as well.

Another Iron Man. 1/4? Does it ever get old? Nope 😂. It’s missing a couple things as you mentioned which is disappointing however everything else looks amazing.
I am a huge Spider-Man fan but Ironman is right up there. When it comes to Hot Toys figures it just translates so well. And they have the colors dialed in. I always get blown away in how amazing it looks. They also have done a fantastic job with all the panels and parts. It just takes it to another level.

I think it be a lot better if they made it so you can remove the partial helmet from tonys head so you can have a head with a removable face plate, one full suit head, and a seperate molded head for tony

This looks great, they keep getting better and better with this. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the laser in the wrist is still accurate to the movie since he used it at the end of the movie when he and Rhodey were being surrounded by the Hammer drones Whiplash was using. I might be mistaken however, since it's been a while since I have seen the movie. Still great review and I am excited to see the next quarter scale Iron Man

This just shows Hot Toys being lazy and just made this for cash as usual. I get the gantry is cool and all but..
1. Giving donut scene set but the details are mediocre at best and no unmasked tony stark headsculpt
2. No standard stand includded for some reason
Yep, HT can do some awesome things but man they can be really lazy. At this price point they should ve used the new suit mark 5 suit Tony headsculpt with some new hair.

Nice been looking forward to it, not having the other base seems like hot toys cheeping out . I am also disappointed there is not an opening helmet and like say the suit up mk5 and no unhelmet head. Also at this price range the figure should have those wireless leds in the figure and the coil could be in the base to light it up

I currently have the Mark 47 Homecoming Iron Man. Just bought it used and saved a good amount of money vs. Retail. Do you think this Mark 4 is worth purchasing? Not sure I can spend on the gantry version, but im considering the figure alone. I have other 1/6 scale figures and this would be my first 1/4 if I do bite on it. I forgot to ask. If you do think these 1/4 scales are worth it, would the better option be the Mark 4 or Mark 42? I see that one is still available through Sideshow...

The drunk/about to die Tony stark thing wasn’t a good idea in iron man 2 but they should of made the sunglasses and the donut as one of the faces not the serious one or the drunk party face (oh wait I didn’t realize they brought the donut stuff nvm) but otherwise the mark 4 looks super cool

Justin's review has always been the determing factor for me to choose whether to purchase or not. Without the unmasked head sculpt is a bit unacceptable, I wonder if the Tony head sculpt of 1/4 mark 43 can be applied to this figure?

This is the ONLY downside of the otherwise exceptional current Hot Toys Iron Man figures...all of a sudden, the helmets/head sculpts they are including ARE NOT CORRECT FOR THE FIGURE/MOVIE THEY APPEARED IN! This has never been the case before with Hot Toys, so for them to start doing this out of the blue is infuriating.
But to get to your question...you may have seen that Hot Toys has now released the pre-order for the 1/4 scale Mark VI suit. We all assumed they would as the Mark IV and Mark VI are the exact same suits with different paint applications. Only difference is the (removable on these figures) chest plate. Well...just as THIS Mark IV figure has a not-movie-accurate helmeted head sculpt rather than an unhelmeted Tony Stark head sculpt, the coming Mark VI 1/4 scale figure ALSO has a not-movie-accurate UNHELMETED Tony Stark head sculpt instead of a helmeted head with removable faceplate! Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tony NEVER takes his helmet completely off at any point while wearing the Mark VI suit...but he DOES do that with the Mark IV!
However, that actually ends up being a good thing. Why? Well, if you have this 1/4 scale Mark IV and then buy the Mark VI, you can then SWAP the head sculpts between the figures and end up with the CORRECT head sculpt for both figures! You can take the unhelmeted head sculpt from the Mark VI and put it on this Mark IV to recreate the donut shop scene, and then you can use the helmeted head sculpt from THIS figure with the removable faceplate and injuries to Tony's face and put that on your Mark VI to recreate either the final battle with Rhodie against the Hammer drones from Iron Man 2, OR the fight scene with Thor from the beginning of Avengers.
Why Hot Toys keeps screwing up this ONE detail on their otherwise perfect modern Iron Man figures, I don't know. They are even doing this with their 1/6 scale diecast Iron Man figures. It's infuriating.

There are only a few diecast pieces most is plastic. Not rubber though, that was what had the fading issue, this has none of that
