      I find it very interesting that Reinhard Heydrich was assassinated in a short space of time AFTER the Wannssee Conference , wich implemented the Final Solution. It appears he met with swift justice or judgment from God. We know other top Nazis ( those who committed major war crimes ) eventually met their own fates , but it came more swiftly for Reinhard Heydrich.

    Just FYI: Heydrich was killed by deployed and trained by the British Czech patizans under the direct order of Winston Churchill. When these men arrived and explained their mission to the local resistance, they declared them completely mad ! The locals knew very well which terrible consequences this act would have for the Czechs. They begged Churchill to abandon his plan, he declined...because HIS plan was exactly to tease and lure the Germans into reprisal acts. This way, the relative peace - which was a fact - would change into rebellion and hate in all layers of the Czech population. Churchill succeeded cum laude...the rest is buried in the history of the victors

      There are always cowards who will capitulate to anyone or anything. Hundreds of thousands of children in occupied nations were taken by invaders with little or no resistance(by Nazis & warlords today) so the adults could save their own lives & material possessions. We've read hundreds of govt reports on the horrific fate of children taken by invading armies & used as disposable objects. War is not a spectator event, even for conscientious objectors. It is a contagious plague with no cure. It has to be stopped as quickly as possible wherever it rears its ugly head.

    • @stevenwatt7561
      @stevenwatt7561 7 лет назад +5

      Here is the main reason for the assassination of Heydrich.
      In 1942 the war was going well for Germany, the attack on Russia had just been launched and their defeat was expected. The Czechs feared that a peace treaty would be made with Germany. At the same time the Czechs were seen as collaborating with the Germans. If a peace treaty was made they feared that they would be excluded from the negotiations. The Munich treaty was still very fresh in their minds. In order to get a seat at the negotiating table they needed to convince the allies that they were a partner. It was the Czech government in exile which ordered the assassination using British trained agents. Churchill had nothing to do with the operation.

      @Lemony Bacon I have known hundreds of people that lived through the war. And I had to study it because I needed to understand why so many were dead in my village. Why the church in my village is brand new. Where was the old one ? Dynamite in the belltower and boom. They did it everywhere. For the Nazi's Jezus was a jew. They wanted to create a new religion based on old Germanic beliefs: druids, runen, swastika's, not the cross. And get your facts straight. Germans are for the most part Protestants, not Catholics. And if it was a war against communism, then why Russia and the US were allies ? Why ? Maybe you should google Babi Yar or Einsatzgruppen or the youtube movie "Come and see". In Bielorus they completely destroyed 618 villages and shot everybody, men, woman, babies, dogs, cattle, burned everything down...

    Heydrich was far more complex ! He was absolutely amoral ! Heydrich ousted Goering from the Gestapo, ousted Himmler from the real leading of the police. He had files on Himmler and Hitler. He was the most dangerous nazi for the other leaders. He would have walked on Hitler's corpse without a blink. People forget that Heydrich was a sailor and Canaris friend. Heydrich openly said that the nazi ideology on jews was the most stupid and useless thing, but did his best to organize the final solution. His thirst for power was limitless. And he had zero admiration for Hitler. He was a dangerous snake looking for the ultimate power. What is surprising is that Heydrich as governor of Bohemia was popular. Of course it was unstainable for the exiled tcheks. Heydrich was incredibly smart, educated. He was a great musician. An incredible character !

    It's easy to kill if the killer views the victims as human trash, non-beings. It requires a COMPLETE DETACHMENT on the emotional level=not very many people are able to accomplish this feat. It doesn't help if your people are desperate for resources while they are being squeezed for reparations. Circumstances just irritate and trigger rage.

      Alternatively he was just a sociopath. Supposedly around 4% of people manage to kill others without any emotional setback, and half of these (2% of total) are sociopaths.
      This is why we have such high prevalence of PTSD nowadays, because we train people to kill on instinct (previously they would at best shoot in the general direction of the enemy). Most people can't handle the realization. Seems like Heydrich could.

      Not according to some Nazis. Walter Schellenberg, who worked alongside Heydrich in the intelligence branch of the SS and who eventually assumed overall control of Nazi foreign intelligence, wrote the following about Heydrich's appearance: "His hands were slender and rather too long - they made one think of the legs of a spider. His splendid figure was marred by the breadth of his hips, a disturbingly feminine effect which made him appear even more sinister. His voice was much too high for so large a man, and his speech was nervous and staccato."

    even though partisan resistance is portrayed as heroic, i think that armed resistance is responsible for revenge punishment of innocent civilians, the only way the winner's army can deal with it. those that wish to fight the occupying forces can simply join another country's army to fight honorable.
    also, far from defending the nazis, it still bothers me that all those documentaries are depicting everything in simple black or white...the evil and cruel nazis, the noble and heroic americans, sacrificing its young men, only to free the poor people living under nazi tyranny, while americans had its own motive for fighting germany. not without reason the united states became the biggest superpower in the world and became immensely rich after the war.
    the fact that ethnic germans in poland were persecuted and often massacred by polish neighbours, envious of their economic superiority and giving nazi germany a valid reason/excuse to invade poland to end the permanent anti german pogroms in poland, always considering that the ethnic germans in poland were polish citizens for generations. anyone interested should just google "bromberg blood sunday", avoiding wikipedia that, like usual, twists all the facts,
    there isnt such thing as a "good country", only those evil and more evil. just like highly decorated us general smedley butler wrote in his book "war is a racket", war is making a few people incredibly rich, while the average folks lose their sons and have to finance the show.
