I just ordered a set of replacement snaps for my leather jacket, and this video has firmly put to rest my doubts about my ability to set them correctly, so thank you sir! 🪛🔨👍
Thanks. For the tip. Appreciate that you are always trying to help the common man/woman. You make it fun. There is nothing worse than getting frustrated and giving up on the hobby.
🤯🤯🤯🤯 I've boogered up a few projects, trying to set snaps (and having the usual issues - post setting crooked, etc). I can't wait to try this tip! Thanks for sharing that with us.
Great tip, thank you - but hoping someone can help me here. My problem is that no matter what I do, the post won't flatten no matter how hard I hit it! What am I doing wrong??
I bought the Barry kind like 24 snap setter and still have issues. I’m going to give this a try. Are you not supposed to use the little cupped out anvil for the round side of the snaps?
I can’t wait to give this a try. I’ve destroyed more snaps than I can count. I even bought snap pliers that was a waste of time. Thanks for the tip. Another question, I have been using thicker leather lately and was wondering where I could find heavy duty snaps with longer posts for the thicker leather. Any help would be appreciated.
I didn't even realize this was a problem anyone has, I've set literally thousands of snaps, probably close to tens of thousands and I've never had this issue, and I use the cheapest snap setter I could find at the time lol, but hey, if it helps others then keep the tips coming! Maybe I'm just lucky and I've got the perfect size snap to the leather I'm using? I'd assume the post would move like that if your leather is too thin for the post size you're using?
Wow, to think I've been doing this for awhile now, after I had to do an "out in the field" repair shed hunting, all I had on me was a screwdriver so... the rest is history.
2 years later and i gotta say thanks man you’re a legend!! i went through so many snaps before finding this hahaha!
After hours of searching you made my life so much easier!!!
So glad I waited two more minutes before making my first attempt at setting a snap! Gonna do it this way from the beginning.
OMG. I can’t tell you how frustrating and expensive crushing the post has been. Thank you. Can’t wait to try it. 💋
Holy crap. That tip about the philips head screwdriver has saved me SO much frustration!!!!! Thank you for sharing this!

work perfectly, thanks for a great tip!

Perfect timing on the video. I am getting ready to set my first snaps. Thank you!
First time went great! your technique is helpful for sure!!
That sir was a great Tip. Thank you
Great idea using the screw driver ! Can you do a video on setting grommets and the different sizes they come in along with the tools ?
Love this,I have ruined many a snap, having the post bend and snap being off center.
Excellent. Thanks.
That's a nice Mascon/ Zeebee anvil right there.!
Great tipp, will try on my next snap!! ✌

DUDE! Genius!
Thank you Mr wizard
Awesome I never thought of that
Please do a grommet lesson also.
Great! Thank you!

Great tip, thank you - but hoping someone can help me here. My problem is that no matter what I do, the post won't flatten no matter how hard I hit it! What am I doing wrong??
Omg. You’re brilliant. I even have a sacrificial screw driver already. I’ve been using it to remove the copper rivets
O hell, this is amazing. You just saved me so much frustration and disappointment.
Thanks, I've been screwing up snaps for years! Is there a trick to loosening a bit, or have I just been buying the cheap ones?
Cheap ones do suck, but this trick will set them all.
Fricken awesome
Thanks for info. Looks like you were using a #2 Phillips screw driver…
Thanks. I kept pushing the post through the finish side resulting in a dimple on it's face. Post never wants to curl properly.
Unfortunately that’s a common problem for many.
Whatcha store in those Folgers containers?
One is full of binder clips. The other is full of daubers.
I bought the Barry kind like 24 snap setter and still have issues. I’m going to give this a try. Are you not supposed to use the little cupped out anvil for the round side of the snaps?
I've always had more problems with those because they're not cupped at the same angle and shape as the snsp
@@makersleathersupply1220 that must be why I keep getting that flat spot.
Nice!
If you have the pliers why do you need the little round tool
@sherylloyd1937 the pliers won't set a snap that is in the middle of a large piece. Otherwise they work great.
Uuugh. Thank you

Well I'll be damned. Thanks!

!!!
Worst camera focus I ever seen. Thanks for the tips even if I cannot see the result.
Problem with being a leather worker is that I'm not a camera man.
The result is, the snap is beautifully set.
this changes everything
Great tip. Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you
