Queen - Live In Tokorozawa (November 3th, 1982) [Best Sources Merge - Full Concert]

- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- This is the final concert of the year. Although the show is traditionally attributed to Tokyo, Seibu Lions Stadium is in the suburb "Tokorozawa."
Although the song would never be performed on stage, during soundcheck the band run Football Fight from the Flash Gordon soundtrack.
They perform the full version of Teo Torriatte once again, but in the encore, which makes room for Save Me one last time.
Queen's first live video was released in Japan in 1983 on VHS, simply entitled "Live In Japan", comprised of about an hour of material from this concert. No songs were edited (except for Brian May's solo spot), and no overdubs were done. Besides standard mixing, the only alterations done were in Put Out The Fire, where a bit of Freddie's vocal improv at the beginning of the song was muted (he can be seen singing in the distant shot on the video), and in We Are The Champions, where Freddie's lead vocal was brought down in the mix to obscure a voice crack in the second chorus.
Around the time of its release, in December 1983, about a thousand lucky Japanese fan club members had the privilege of seing the complete show on video over five screenings in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. It hasn't been seen since.
The edited video was later re-released on laserdisc, and about half of the footage (the italicized tracks) found its way onto disc 2 of the "Queen On Fire - Live At The Bowl" DVD release:
Flash (tape), The Hero, Now I'm Here, Put Out The Fire, Dragon Attack, Now I'm Here (reprise), Love Of My Life, Save Me, guitar solo [cut], Under Pressure, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, Tie Your Mother Down, Teo Torriatte, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, God Save The Queen
The audio of the great version of Calling All Girls from this show can be heard on disc 2 of the Live At The Bowl DVD as the picture gallery is shown. It was also released a bonus track (with a bit of compression added) on the 2011 remaster of Hot Space, along with Action This Day from this show (also included on this track is Freddie's vocal exchange with the audience, which actually happened after Play The Game). The fast version of We Will Rock You was also released as a bonus track on the 2011 News Of The World remaster. All but five tracks from this show have now been officially released in one form or another.
Tonight would be Queen's final performances of The Hero, the fast We Will Rock You, Action This Day, Play The Game, Calling All Girls, Put Out The Fire, Save Me, Get Down Make Love, Body Language, Fat Bottomed Girls, and Teo Torriatte. They wouldn't play another concert for nearly two years.

Roger’s vocal contributions have always been underrated. Casual fans usually fail to realize that Roger covered all the very high notes for Freddie, particularly in the 80s when his voice became ravaged from hard living. Roger took the high parts on songs like Play the Game & Who wants to live forever on the Magic tour. A very underrated vocal component to their success
It is known that in 1982, Freddie's first problems related to HIV began. It was a chronic inflammation of the larynx and leukoplakia. He often had those vocal problems. he just had no idea at the time that it would have a worse outcome.
@@pavelzemanek But Roger has done this since they started touring, specially in songs where in the studio version Freddie is singing higher but it's difficult on stage.
@@pavelzemanek Vocal Nodules is something Freddie had since '75 and it isn't related to HIV but to how much he sang, however he had other HIV symptoms that started showing in 1982 (Kaposi sarcoma spots on his body) but his voice problem was not HIV related. But the more shows he does in a row the worse the cracks get due to nodules. (and why Freddie's voice sounds different here then the October shows is because he started to smoke and tried to make his voice more macho sounding and by 1984 he would get that voice so nothing voice related is because of HIV)
here is a link to the causes of Vocal Nodules www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK534635/
@@pavelzemanek hay muchas partes en q pareciera q freddie no llega a la nota alta, y es alli donde entra Roger como gran musico a cubrir, es genial porque se escucha un estilo algo raro, no es muy comun escuchar a freddie de esa manera, saludos
@@pavelzemanekknown by who? He had nodules. He got really sick in 85 when he had the duffel coat tongue - that’s candida not leukoplakia anyway. That’s much further along in the dz
I think this show is amazing, because even Freddie's voice tired from being the last show of the tour, he still does very well creating other melodies as usual. The band is having a great time this seemed rare.
we should rather be suspicious if a singer sings absolutely flawlessly then technical help is guaranteed in the game.

I was there!!!!👍
It seemed that in 3 years I listened to and reviewed everything. A cool live performance. Each concert is an incredible performance by Queen and especially Freddie. God, how he sang. And the pre-chorus, the arrangement and - are worth a lot. Unique, like Freddie himself. By no one and never. A great talent. A gift to all fans. Thank you for this auditory video.
This is the actual show I saw when I was in Japan. I still have the ticket from the show.
THANK YOU for posting this video!! It’s AMAZING, and I still remember that day!
The day is special for us Japanese.
November 3rd is Meiji Tenno's birthday(now national holiday).
I am so happy to know Queen(literally 'The Queen of Pop') played for us on such a day.
They were rock Gods, in Japan, from the very start of their career. They were bigger than The Beetles, The Stones, Zeppelin etc in Japan.
🍀 I agree with you completely! QUEEN🌹 at the unattainable pinnacle of rock music!⚡
*Beatles.
I’m not sure about this statement. I’m a Queen fan too, which is why I’m here. Queen clearly had a special relationship with their Japanese audiences, but Led Zeppelin were massive in Japan and their 1971 performances in that country are simply legendary.

27:21 he is absolutely insane at this show, i love it
For Queen to all people of Japan, Teo Torriate. Beutiful.
That’s the best version of “Crazy Little Thing” I’ve ever heard. Just phenomenal
i think 'Play the game' is the better performance in this gig
It's weird seeing Freddie without his classic mic stand
Wireless microphone, there's no suitable holder for the stand at that time 😁
🎉🎉🎉🎉 We Will Rock You🎉🎉🎉🎉 Meravigliosi Queen ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I saw Queen in Seattle a couple months before this. Probably about the same set list. Great show!
great show. great upload great memories. thanks a whole bunch
Exelente Concierto, gracias por compartirlo!!

It is known that in 1982, Freddie's first problems related to HIV began. It was a chronic inflammation of the larynx and leukoplakia. He often had those vocal problems. he just had no idea at the time that it would have a worse outcome.
That's false, he didn't contract HIV until closer to 1984-86. He delivered some of the best singing in his career in the 90's when he could barely stand up due to his illness. His vocal chord issues were from not giving his voice the proper time to recover in-between gigs. Constantly touring, smoking, and partying all the time also contributed to his voice issues. It's also known that he was a social butterfly, and talking too much is terrible for your singing voice.
@@mercuryrising2887sorry but Pavel is right about the timeline. Freddie was likely infected in 1982 and showed symptoms of acute HIV during the US tour (a cold, lung problems and throat inflammation). His AIDS symptoms didn't show until 1987, which is a normal timespan. But I agree with you about him not taking caring of his voice. He was a chain-smoker (which he only picked up in the last part of the 70s), a heavy cocaine user (not good for nose and throat) and a heavy drinker (bad for everything)
Who's on piano during crazy ?
@@TonyBecks1969that would be Fred Mandel
Brian May Amazing guitarist
It's kinda crazy that about half the setlist is dropped permanently after this gig
Oh shitttt, you’re right
Their were entering into the Works/Magic era..it was logical I believe...all those songs were too 70s!
Thank you for posting this. I've re-watched so many performances from this show as I love this show! It's a solid show actually. It has some of Freddie's worst cracks or just bad ones in general, but performances like Save Me and Calling All Girls are great! My favourite for Calling All Girls and one of my Save Me favourites.

at last full perfomance of gig tour highlighters hot space 1982 tour in Japan leg it,s great thanks man !!!!!!!!!!!
I have no clue why the band hasn't released the full show. I don't give a shit if there's overdubs or pitch correction, this show is incredibly important as the last Hot Space gig, but it's also a great show.
100% agree. All unreleased video stuff should go out!
Because Brian May gets a panic attack if there's a missed note anywhere and Queen Productions Ltd want to pitch correct the shit out of everything before it goes out
That was fantastic! Roger really works so hard on the drums and vocals and Brian is sizzling hot. The best band in the world and it warms my heart to see Roger and Brian together keeping Queen alive.❤

Why are all live performances played faster than the album?
Cos they always did that listen to Live Killers or any of the live albums and you’ll see that - most bands play it different live than the record.

Freddie in Japan has always had some of the worst voice performances. He is a genius, but his voice is here very tired and with many mistakes. And it has happened with other shows in Japan
It's because Japan was the last destination every time in their world tours.
