Jhope had been learning singing before he joined Bighit. But at the beginning, BTS was positioned as a Hiphop group, and the group lacked rapper, so he started to learn rap from scratch.He can sing. Jhope sings a lot of the hidden harmonies on the BTS songs, especially Spring Day
To me it’s not always about pulling the most insane high notes, it’s about being able to have the emotions.. when Hobi sings I just feel so calm and soothed, his voice is so beautiful! And he is technically a sub vocalist and have been since debut, and there are videos out there who shows his beautiful backing vocals in their songs!

j-hope has a legit unique voice. i've been trying to listen to other kpop groups and a lot of rappers sound the same. j-hope's voice really stands out. i feel sorry for baby army who miss out on old songs where you can really hear him rap-singing

He's not hiding it and Bighit is definitely not hiding it!😂 There's an old video they introduce themselves, telling their stage name and positions in the group and Hobi's position is actually MAIN DANCER, SUB RAPPER AND SUB VOCAL. Old ARMY'S knew this and hope everybody will know this too.💜
