There is something about singing in Tagalog (Filipino language). Our words have a lot of open vowels such as A and O. And we have lesser dipthong sylables and few double consonant words except for the most common NG.. We speak the letters as how it usually read. The syllables are whole and open so it sounds so full.

You may find it interesting that most famous artists in the Philippines now are products of singing competitions. Mori, Katrina, Gigi, Bugoy, Daryl Ong, Michael Pangilinan, KZ Tandingan, Marcelito Pomoy, Zephanie, Sara Geronimo, Jessica Villarubin and some you haven't had the chance to react yet Sam Mangubat, Jona, Moira, TNT boys (children version of BuDaKhel), Darren Espanto, Mark Michael Garcia, Charice Pempengco, Kris Lawrence, Eumee Capile... and a whole lot more. They at one point competed with each other and end up jamming and being friends. Singing (and dancing too) is just so ingrained in our culture. You haven't even checked out the hip-hop scene other than SB19 and Gloc 9.
