Simply one of the most glorious piano recording of History ... Schnabel as a good angel , or something like that ..

Did Hadyn hear or know this sonata . It's last movement owes him something ! I want to find what Hadyn wrote in his letters and maybe he didn't like the man Beeth but he had to recognize what Beeth had . He lived until 1809 or 07 so did he keep up with Beethoven's genius . London couln't have been as interesting : or maybe older people don't care so much about greatness . Idk . I Schnabel's playing has horrified me in other composers . The slow mov . here (superlative judgement ) [and I know it takes a great mind to hear & know all he is doing but the fact Im listening to this slow movement means he has accomplished much : is really speaking ! I came here to hear op.10 's minuet ! Especially compared to today's supremely trained , communicative artists . This is the best I ve heard from him . Really good phrasing , nimble fingerwork saying what the music says . Haebler a really perfect pianist hasn't recorded Beethoven : the way she plays Mozart is more difficult than any chopin etude . don't know how any human being can do what she does. Uchida and a million others are amazing . Ive yet to hear Pires in Beethoven yet she won a beethoven competition ! All of this Schnabel is very good MUSICIANSHIP! But those Brahms concerti ? Is it possible some really bad highschool pianists put himself on here in his staid . Noone with ears would let a company put those out as bad a aMenuhin recording of the Bartok . I think something's afoot ! Schnabel is really amazing in Beethoven but playing piano is playing piano so why the Schubert . I'll go look for his Schumann . No Kinderszenen or Kreisleriana ? Prolly ?

А.М. Горький считал вторую часть вершиной музыки. В годы А.М. Горького А. Шнабель "открывает" эту сонату после многих лет игнорирования. Повторил его исполнение С. Рихтер.

@Jacky Tran You should have uploaded it with Schnabels own edition - it would have made it still more interesting and instructive.

That orchestral ending is truly unique. I don't know a similar energy in the piano repertoire.
