    Magic! Really! No one can explain so perfectly! I did the same when I start my journey I believe 8 + years ago, trained by one of my best friend who is dermatologist! I wish I could use copper peptide, but I have too much live for my vitamin C in the morning, that I can’t stand without! Maybe one day. Who knows? Thanks Claudia! Retin A has been part of my routine for a long time and know it's improved my skin. I can tolerate it on my neck, but have to really buffer around the mouth or the skin becomes dry and sensitive. Claudia ,
    I think this was a great perspective, and you explain things with such a calm spirit. Having been a master esthetician for over thirty five years ( I mention that because I have had the benefit of seeing hundreds of thousands of clients like a hands on study ) I do think Retin A can be tough on the skin and many people do not care for their skin properly while using it. I personally think Retinols or Vitamin A’s that are compounded with other essential actives by a compounding pharmacist or chemist is skin care is best and I have seen better results. Less irritation, less discoloration of the skin and less problems in general. As far as Ingredients getting in the blood stream, that is truth so always be mindful of the types of products you use. Yes you can use other Actives, just be sure they are natural, food for the skin.
    Thank You for your in-depth perspective. Have a blessed day Claudia. 🍑🙌🏻Lisa

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 года назад +1

      Hi Lisa, thank you for your kind comment. I agree, Retin a can def. be hard to handle for some people. I was one of them. But I do think, with the right care, patients and nutrition, most of us can handle retinoids. If you can have a compounding pharmacist add other actives, I think that is a great choice. And yes, what we put on our skin goes into the bloodstream, I believe that as well. In the case of tretinoin, the argument was it not increasing plasma levels of vitamin A.
      As always, I so appreciate your input and experience, as well as your love and support❤️
      I hope you are having a great week

    Claudia you are so beautiful inside and out! I just found your channel and can’t get enough. How soon after micro needling can you start using Trentinoin. Also, have you considered doing a cookbook or recommending one for beginners

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 года назад +1

      Janet, your sweet comment made my day❤️
      Thank you!
      You know, I have used tretinoin right after micro needling. I made a video on it a while ago. It is def. not for someone just starting out with retin a, and it does sting. But it intensifies the treatment and gives you a bit of a peel.
      Normally though, I wait at least 1-2 days, depending on how deep I micro needled. Some people say to wait as much as 1-2 weeks, but I do think that is over cautious. I would say if you are a seasoned retin a user, Wait 1-2 days, depending on how intense your micro needling treatment was. I hope this helps.
      I am so happy you are here, wishing you a great Sunday
      xx

    Very interesting to hear about the vit C. In which order do you combine it with Retin A?I always try to let the Retin A do its work, meaning I put it on bare skin and only if need be I put on a moisturizer or oil hours later.
    One interesting thing I recently read is there shouldn‘t be more than 72h between applications of Retin A since the skin then has to start a new retinazation process every time.
    And lastly I‘m very intrigued by the copper peptides but I didn‘t know how to incorporate them in my routines, since so far I‘m using vit C in the morning and Retin A at night and I‘m not willing to give up either one for a single day. Good job Claudia, as always very informative and I‘m very happy for your success. You so deserve it!

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 года назад

      Hi Kay, thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. I put my retin a on first (well really a stem factor first, but I ran out of it), and like you, let it do its thing for a couple of hours. Then I apply my C, moisturizer and sometimes oil.
      I have heard about the 72 h window as well. That might well be, however, for me going slower seemed to do the trick.
      I hope you are having a great day, keep me updated on how you like using the vitamin c at night

    Good morning beautiful Claudia ! so happy to watch this this morning as i drink my green tea and my face is tight and red after overdoing it with Tret lol ! i overdid it by cosmetic needling and using Tretinoin right after. I need to go slower. That being said i feel Tret is making my skin thicker and definitely has better texture. Love all the information you bring and the debunking the myths, especially the one about retinol wearing in the day and the people dying during the study..... So happy you spoke also about the research on skin cancer, this is one of the reasons i am using it because my dad has a history of skin cancer. Will share your video in my links on my channel. Hi Donna, lovely to hear from you. I actually have an evening skin care routine video, which might be helpful. However in that video I was not using vitamin C at night yet. So what I do, I either use a stem factor (or I don’t right now, since I’m out of it,), then my Retin-A. If I have time I will let my Retin-A absorb for a couple of hours, before I put on the rest of my skin care. So then I will apply divider Minsi, my moisturizer and or an oil. You could put your vitamin C on first, and then your Retin-A. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have anymore questions. Wishing you a wonderful day

    Thank you Claudia for this great video! What is your take on strength? I am at 0.05% and not sure if I should try to go higher. I am going to have to look at copper peptide more. I had ruled them out because they cannot be used with tretinoin and I didn't know I could use my vit C with my tretinoin. I'll also have to go back and see what vit C product you use. Thank you.

      Hi Santina, lovely to hear from you. You know, I think that if 0.05% works for you, it is a good strength. Most studies are actually done with that strength, and more is not always better. And yes, take another look at copper peptides. I am really loving them. And no matter what form of vitamin c you use, you can still use it with your retin a. @claudiaglows  3 года назад +1

      Hi Britta, it is lovely to hear from you. I’m sorry if this is so confusing. So I am using 0.05% Tretenoin. Here in Italy I can get it over the counter. However I know that in Germany you need a script for it. So you could ask your dermatologist to prescribe it for you. I believe you also have 0.05% in Germany. If you cannot get tretinoin, the next best thing would be retinaldehyde. I am not certain what percentage you can get in Germany, but I would start at the lowest and work your way up. If you cannot find that, then you would use retinol. My friend in Germany just told me that she saw a 2% retinol in her pharmacy. So that would be a good strength, or you can start with less and work your way up. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have more questions, and also keep me updated. My dermatologist has prescribed me the chemo cream for AK and after watching this video, I’ve decided I’m not going to use it. I already have tretinoin, but I stopped using it and I basically just been using an over-the-counter one by Avene.
    My anxiety grew when I watched all the videos, seeing the red faces and inflammation from the chemo cream. Worst case scenario I may just have them freeze it off because it’s mainly just one spot on my cheek and then continue the retinoids. I could try the chemo cream just on the one spot, but I figure what’s the point in doing that when I should probably use it over my entire face to get the full benefit. Either way I’m worried about using the chemo cream so I’m going to try and alternative method. Thank you.

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 года назад +1

      Hi Wendy, thank you for your lovely comment💕
      So retionic acid is going to be the most powerful. Differin is retinoic acid. Paulas choice is retinol. Retinol has to go through 2 conversions to become retinoic acid. So the differin will be much more active, and stronger. But I have heard great things about Paulas choice retinol. It comes down to what your skin can handle. If you can handle the differin, I personally would go for that one.

The only reason I don’t buy much from the brand, is that they use lanolin in a lot of their formulations. But, I think it’s an excellent brand and I think that everything they have is amazing. As far as the best retinoid, that really depends on your skin. I would say if you can handle Retin-A, which is the prescription kind, and the one I use, then in my opinion that’s the best.
