I play with an electric bass into this. Do you know how I can get it louder and more clear? The volume is insanely low and the quality is much worse than my fender amp. Thanks!
The AD/DA converters are Cirrus Logic & the mic pre-amps are the same as the ones found on the RME Babyface. Very high-quality sound, at half the price! Roundtrip latency is also the best I have tested (had the Steinberg UR, stuff from Creative like Soundblaster etc.) and this is the BEST audio interface I have ever owned. Hope this helps. I know there is the mk2 version out. Do not know what the new version makes better than this one, but if you find this at a discounted price, new or used mint condition, I would go with the mk1 everyday!
This is such an excellent review, I can find only very rarely on RUclips! It helped me a lot to understand my KA6 after purchasing, much better so as the original PDF manual from Native Instruments! It's a great pity you're not doing reviews in this manner any longer!
Many thanks. We're pleased so many people have found this useful. We might well resume making tutorials in the future - it's a matter of having the time, and ROI! :)
I want to digitise some music off audio cassette tapes. Are 3 & 4 suitable for audio from phono out of hifi separates such as my hi fi cassette deck via phono to 1/4 inch jack converter ?
i need some help, i have a set of behringer c2 mics and have them hooked up to xlr input 1/2. the lights on the interface show when the microphone is exposed to audio but my pc doesnt recognize any signal from my interface/mic. I can use my interface to output sound but the microphones simply dont get recognized by my pc at all. ive tried a lot of things but simply cant get it to work. i hope someone can help.
I have a question regarding the use of In- and Outputs. Can I connect my TV to the SPDIF Input and then output via the Main 1/2 ports to my monitor? Or do I have to use the SPDIF Output if the signal is coming in from the SPDIF Input? Thanks in advance
I have only a microphone connected to line 1/2, but when i connect the earphones I can't hear anything even though i made sure to select channel 1/2... why is that? obviously the volume is up
I HOPE that Native paid you for this, cause this is too good. IF THEY (STILL) DIDN'T, then I feel sorry for them for not making such videos themselves.
Concerned about the photos? Man, I am sure they saw this and did not even say anything to you, right? ... I hate it when people do that. NATIVE, if YOU see this (again), PAY THIS MAN AND HIS TEAM, or give them some vouchers, WHATEVER! Because he deserves it - I think I will buy this and order it today, because of him and his team, and NOT because all your non-existent PRESENTATION videos!
Hey! Was checking your Video again - still seeking THE Interface (oh, man) and I realized this: 12:57 - is that not contradicting the earlier Statement at 09:21?
@@SocietateaAscendenta No, the info at 9.21 is about routing sound from the computer out to the KA6, whereas the info at 12.57 is about hearing sound that's coming into the KA6 through its inputs.
so the hardware monitor sends the analog signal from inputs 1 and/or 2 directly to outputs 1/2 and/or 3/4 and you can basically monitor the input signal through the main speakers or the headphones, right? What about the same input signal from 1 and 2 which is processed in the DAW and then again is sent to the outputs (through USB), you hear it as well with latency or you mute it so it doesnt interfere with the direct monitoring... just wondering
Orland Media Thanks, i’ve connected a microkorg xl and the volume it’s to the max and still the gain is too low, i don’ know if i’m missing something, thanks :)
I had the same problem till I changed the cable...once I switched my mic with XLR (Cannon) then everything became ok... so, if you use usual "jack 6,3", then try XLR instead
Just got a ka6 mk1 second hand and have all the updated drivers and firmware But for some reason can’t get my mic to register on any of the inputs Anyone had this issue and have troubleshoots on a fix? Mic is brand new Output from my daw/midi/songs/samples works fine but none of the inputs work even with the phantom power
Is it possible to connect a stereo synthesizer to inputs 1 & 2 with 2 1/4" cables and match the gains? Is that a bad idea because of the gainnknobs matching? I already use 3/4 with another stereo synth.
love the breakdown man, so professionally done. I'm only recording through midi at the moment and i've got a little question... everything seems to working fine but my midi/in light keeps flashing green. is this normal? i bought the device second hand and like i said, no problems so far but it's strange that it keeps blinking. cheers!
Looking for some direction having trouble getting my turntable [Audio Tech Lp1240] to work with my KA6 [Komplete Audio 6]. not getting any audio from my monitors.
Thank you very much for the detailled instruction. I still have one question: Does gain control the sound pressure level or the sound intensity level? Thank you for answering. :-)
Hi, I have a Stanton T92 turntable with digital output. I’ve tried connecting this to SPDIF 5&6 but get no sound. The T92 rca output works when connected to 1&2 but I’d like to keep that free for guitar and/or mics... why does 5&6 not work?
probably because there is no internal routing of the digital ins (5&6) to any outputs inside this device. In your DAW create channels for these inputs and "monitor" (i.e. send them to outputs 1/2 for example)
yes, thank you for explaining everything clearly, rather than smugly residing in your mansion of facny initials and fast talk. edit: why did you have to stop making these?!
I am curious. I receive Komplete audio 6, and i see there the Monitor volume knob. What is it for? because it does nothing with volume when i turn it at maximum :D .... only i discovered, that it changes little bit the sound of my voice when i try to sing into condenser mic and i feel my voice is spreading to the sides.... Did i get wrong sound card? or it is really not volume knob at all ?... hahah
I am trying to connect my TC Helicon to the KA6. I want some of the reverbs from it to go into my Cubase recordings. I have tried several ways but to no avail...Please help!!!!!!!
96kHz, what a joke, good on the VST's, not worth a crap for live input. Notice this guys setting are all the way down... I got one of these just recently, the live a/d latency is unplayable, But it does keep your integrated sound card free'd up when in cubase, but i still have to use an external mixer for the guitar & mic...
Garbage .. i can’t input 3/4 to play through without going through software and setting up audio tracks routing 3/4. Should be able to play directly through monitors hooked up like it does through input 1/2. Ps thanks for the confirmation that’s how it actually works though. I thought it was a flaw.
Absolutely wonderful tutorial! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I haven`t watched a product review this good in my whole life, very informative and useful, thanks.
For sure! This is A REVIEW, not a description. GREAT stuff!
This video should be included in-box, it's better than the manual. Thanks!
What manual? Lol. Mine came with nothing. Its got the worst software support too
I learned a lot from my own interface which I have for almost 4 years🤔
1000%
This is honestly the best product overview video I've ever seen.
I like the way things have been explained about this unit.
STANLEY MOISE agreed!
A brilliant comprehensive description of this product. Best yet, excellent, as it said no waffle.
Very clear, precise and unhurried. This tutorial without doubt is the best I have experienced. A very big thank you.
This is an incredible video. Wish there were more videos in this structure and so very concise. Thank you very much.
This is the best video instruction for production equipment I have ever seen.
I didn't get a manual when i got the KA6 ages ago, this has been super useful even though I've been using it for years!
Awesome review... now I'm damn clear wirh my interface..
Thnx a ton buddy 👍
Remarkably clear. Thank you. I wish I had you on tap every time I get stuck trying to set up my little home studio.
Thanks.. I wish all Reviews were like this....
Full of good info..
I play with an electric bass into this. Do you know how I can get it louder and more clear? The volume is insanely low and the quality is much worse than my fender amp. Thanks!
I have been looking for this software for a long time and it helped me

Do you think it still worth? I am between a Focusrite Solo 3gen and this older Komplete Áudio 6. What would you recommend? Thanks.
Between these two interfaces, which you think would be better for recording mics and guitars?
This works solidly, and I love using the digital input with my Eleven Rack to get extra low noise recordings
This was super informative and practical, thank you so much!
I loved that you put very specific examples on the end too. :)
It Worked perfectly after trying other methods this one was the best one, Thanks.
Majestuoso tutorial, gracias por el aporte!!
You gave a lot of help, buddy! Thanks a lot!

The British accent took this amazing product overview right over the top.
An easy 10/10. Would Waffle-free again. Thank you.
Thank you so very much for such a concise explanation of this unit!!!
This works. Recommended to try this out. Thanks a lot for your help
Fantastic review - well done. More please :)
How can I get auxiliary option in my studio, With this Interface?? For other people can connect tru aux and hear it on the monitors
fantastic. i was about to sell mine until i realized how feature rich it is.
Thank you for an excellent tutorial!
Thank you so much!!! It did work and took less than 5 minutes!
Best tutorial video ever.
Best damn review and tutorial Ive ever seen. Good grief nice work! Thanks!!
For headphone monitoring,, can I decide to listen output 1/2 and 3/4 at the same time? How to do that?
The most helpful video about the topic. Thank you
What a perfect Tutorial ! Thank you.
Thanks man!! You've earned my respect
I want to digitise some music off audio cassette tapes. Are 3 & 4 suitable for audio from phono out of hifi separates such as my hi fi cassette deck via phono to 1/4 inch jack converter ?
Nice. Thanks a lot actually. It worked, you explained it well.
Everything works perfectly
Excellent, very helpful. Thank you!

Is it possible to run rca from this to a stereo? Would it do anything? I have monitors but I have an older stereo that only has rca in...

Nope, they didn't. We were concerned about even using the images of the KA6! Thanks though.
Concerned about the photos?

Don't know if NI have seen it, but no, there's been no problem. It's helping them after all :)

I will be hooking up my interface today, just switched from a mbox 2 lol
The audio recording from input 3/4 its too loow, do you know how can i fix this? Thanks in advance!
That input level can't be changed on the unit - you'd have to increase the output level on whatever is connected or boost it in software.

I need help. I just got this device but I dnt see any of the vst plugins in my logic library. any explanations ?
spent hours trying to workout how to connect my UNO synth to Audio 6... and then 5mins into vid It's the front inputs! thank you
Yes, or the rear inputs 3&4 for a synth.
Is it possible to connect a stereo synthesizer to inputs 1 & 2 with 2 1/4" cables and match the gains?

It turns on when receiving a message, off when not receiving, therefore it will turn on and off as the messages are received. Hope this is helpful!
Simply Brilliant!
Thank you so much!
What is the largest value of the buffer size for this device? Im on Windows 10 using Propellerhead Reason. Anybody? Thanks
A very helpful video, thank you.
it worked for me so i leaved a like and sub
Id love to know why the mic inputs at the front are set to mono? Why on earth would we want to record in one channel?
can i use 2 synth with this soundcard match to work with my daw logic 9 pro?
Looking for some direction having trouble getting my turntable [Audio Tech Lp1240] to work with my KA6 [Komplete Audio 6]. not getting any audio from my monitors.
Hey I'm Having the same problem, have you found a solution?
Can it connect to Iphone?
Thank you very much for the detailled instruction. I still have one question: Does gain control the sound pressure level or the sound intensity level? Thank you for answering. :-)
Glad it was useful. Your question is quite technical and probably best addressed to NI - presumably sound intensity level?
Thank you so much. Really. That was explained vert well.
They can be used with traktor scratch pro?
Can i connect this card to my smartphone?
yes you can, using an adaptor. I did it once.

ty 2018 Happy New Year !!!

I have a question, can I use this sound card for the streaming of music thru RUclips and Facebook?
Mifistofil. Yes u can
Great info
I am trying to connect my TC Helicon to the KA6. I want some of the reverbs from it to go into my Cubase recordings. I have tried several ways but to no avail...Please help!!!!!!!
This could use 32 bit ?
Is this powered through usb, or do u need to plug it into a socket ? Was given this ai by my brother and am missing wires, anyone help!
Powered through USB - you only need that cable.
Great
Though 'looks aren't everything' this older model looks 200 times better than the new model.
Have to agree with this. They also removed the ability to direct monitor to the speaker outputs with the Mk II.
Can i record both mics at once?
No reason why not if you select them as inputs on tracks in your DAW.
Orland Media my daw is a mpc x. But if it outputs 2 signals im gold.
YOU ARE GOD! I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!
nice
Which one is best .. Native komplete audio6 or Audient id14
Just bought one for 13 bucks what a deal
damn its work
Should retitle “for Mac”.
Anybody tried it with Mac OS Catalina yet?
He keeps saying “TS inputs” when they’re clearly labeled Balanced/ TRS.
Thanks for pointing this out - agreed, the balanced jacks are in fact TRS.

The damn Input 3/4 can't be monitored without a DAW. This is ridiculous. Why even add the feature if it doesn't work?
Collectors;Essentials I was wondering the same thing. Can someone verify this?
Very confusing without visual representation
Garbage .. i can’t input 3/4 to play through without going through software and setting up audio tracks routing 3/4. Should be able to play directly through monitors hooked up like it does through input 1/2.
Ps thanks for the confirmation that’s how it actually works though. I thought it was a flaw.
Well done! Very professional. thank you.
