Don't add black bars to the video. Crop the video to the right size, and the player will add the letterbox itself. Try watching your youtube video on a 21:9 monitor
The Iphone 14 Pro is excellent making great RUclips fan movies also.
What kind of effects do you used?
Sure, most easily see how insane your cinematography is, but I doubt many viewers appreciate how your sound design is what truly makes the video so immersive. Wonderful world building! Please break this video down and show us how it’s done.

But is not… you could have achieved the same video with any camera. It’s all in the editing
An iPhone camera really isn’t that great.. it lies to you. The “bokeh” is AI, the image is sharpened through software, there is poor optical performance, no zoom- only cropping that degrades the image to a very low pixel count. Poor dynamic range, lack of physical creative flexibility. I think a lot of people believe these phones are so great until they try a real professional camera with real optics and real physics. I also own an iPhone 14, but use the Blackmagic 6K over it any day. And while phone cameras are improving, so are polrofeasional cameras. I don’t think anyone will deny that an Arri Alexa with Cooke lenses even from 15 years ago looks better than anything we’ve seen from an iPhone, let alone new professional technology.
The sound design is an absolute masterpiece.
You have a really great editing sensibility! What made this really work is masking the drawbacks of iPhone footage with constant movement, and you leaned into what makes an iPhone great by letting it be an iPhone. I liked the abstract nature of some of the shots. I think it would be a fun challenge to try filming a walk and talk sequence throughout Chicago or go head to head with Brandon again. iPhone VS iPhone.

This is a fucking masterclass in how to shoot a film with no budget. This is inspiring to watch! The shot of the train at 1:09 and how the inside of the train is lit up so well. This is incredible!

frankly… no. i really honor the effort, but there's so much destroyed visual information by digital processing, artifacts allover the place and frankly moiré... its a really nicely edited film, but its an overdigitialised look. the sensor isnt big enough for pleasing images

@@JensSage well what did you expect from a small camera? Obviously it’s limited by the physics, the sensor is simply small but mighty! With ProRaw turned on, at least you get noise free RAW pictures, they look pretty good

Amazing footage bro. I really hope you do a tutorial. I've just started getting into video & am constantly amazed at how much work/planning goes into making a 3 minute clip - especially if you wanted to look good. I take care of my mother & want to capture her final few years on video. Yes so that I have video of her when she's gone, but I also want to have videos to show her while she's still alive. I want her to see what a beautiful woman she is.
This is touching man. Lost my mom more than 3 years ago and how I wish I could have done something like this for her. Hope you’re able to accomplish this for her and for yourself as well!
What editing software to you use?
Whilst this video is about _a video itself_ most people probably won't pay attention how much effort was put in the _audio_ editing.
and also 0:22 old camera sound, or 2:09 old mouse clicking. The video is edited in a retro manner which i love as well.

its really impresive how far we came in phone camera tech. iphones can film almost cinema quality videos, samsung phones can get real detailed photos, etc.

Sometimes, we are so jaded that we forget to appreciate technology. Even when I was a kid, I could never have imagined that , in the future I could shoot cinema-quality video with a device that can fit in my palm.
If old enough, we all used a phone to make phone calls.
Even though i sold phones for Verizon. I used a flip phone as long as i could.
Loved the size and simplicity.
Never texted or used it to go on the web. That's what my computer was for. I had a camera to take pictures.

Everywhere I go, whenever I see a camera this is what I imagine! I finally see what I’ve always imagine of making
I’m not gonna lie, I can see the day is fast approaching where traditional cameras will be largely obsolete. The shot at 0:20 of the train could have fooled me. Granted, you have to plan your shots more thoroughly when using the iPhone… but if you do, it can be a powerful tool.
I’m glade to see others are picking up on just how good the new iPhone 14 Pro Max is as a filmmaking tool. I recently edited some ProRes footage from this phone back to back with Sigma FP and Canon R3 footage… and honestly, I was surprised at how far the iPhone has come.

People are underestimating the sound buildup and design here in the comments. This video is what it is, thanks to the sound. The cinematography is there, the editing is there. But the reason this is a "Film" is the sound gluing it all together in a universe in its own right.

Very well filmed, I'm not an expert but I can see a lot of digital noise, it reminds me of ray tracing games on pc where you have denoisers but still get some noise.
Yes!! Forget about the iPhone, because it obviously falls short at multiple points. But with editing like this (including of course cinematography, shot selection, grading, cuts, transitions and oh yes!, sound design!), you can probably "suck in" viewers with almost any quality footage. Bravo!
