Same. I love the instrument but cannot justify it at that price. Really going to keep it in a very niche market, which is kind of ironic as the original instrument was supposed to be an accessible everyman's digital instrument.
I’ve read long threads on Reddit about this very topic - I’m sure it’s a parts/inflation/supply and demand issue rather than greed but I respect your decision. Times are tough.
I preordered mine in March and I cancelled it a week ago to just order off eBay from Japan - and I just found out NOW retailers here are slowly sending shipment emails
Thanks for not being one of those god awful channels that blab and make pathetic jokes over the demo. You played just what I wanted to hear. Congratulations on getting your Omni. Ten years is a long time to wait!

Played an original (brown) one in the early 80's in a local music shop. It's amazing that it is available again! :) I look forward to hearing how you use it.

@@NicholasBryantBonzaiSequoias Oh wow, how wonderful! That looks like a very strange TV show. I bought the strap buttons for the new Omnichord so now I have a style icon to emulate, thank you :)
Oh very cool! Excited for youuuuuuu. I've rarely touched such fancy chords in my own songwriting but it's lovely to have them there just in case :) What kind of music do you make?
If it's in the southern part of Thailand It rains a lot almost every day. If it's Bangkok, you can visit every month. It rains little, but the weather is hot.
Pre-ordred mine a few months ago but shipments aren't expected to Australia till July, but so keen! I've wanted one for years but they're hard to get here, functional vintage ones tend to go for $800-$1000 on eBay anyways. It will only cost me a few hundred more for this brand new model (which is worth is because I intend to use it for live performance), really excited to try out the MIDI functionality too. Great video, would love to see what pedals you experiment with!
Out of curiosity if you don't mind answering - did it come with the Power Supply included? and what batteries/power can it run off otherwise? I want to put a guitar strap on it for performances and be able to play it standing
Thanks for watching and saying hi!! I'm excited for you to get hold of this too. I ordered direct from Suzuki and had to get the power supply separate to the main instrument (1210A (220-240v) - I don't know what the Australian equivalent would be?), and also ordered the strap buttons so I can put my shiny gold guitar strap on it :) You can use 8 x AA batteries as well, which makes me want to go into a forest somewhere and make some shimmery noises!
@@Penfriendrocks I have some really good bushwalking tracks near where I live near running water so this might be what I need to do too haha. Omnichord players long to be ethereal forest creatures
Did you know that you can start the 108 in classic mode? Hold the swing-waltz button when pressing the power button!! Mine will arrive tomorrow, so have to check it but already read it in the manual!!
@@PenfriendrocksGot my OM108 today and absolutely love it!!! Get really carried away by the concert harp sound, will do a video soon!! Checked your music today, absolutely my cup of tea!! Great songs, great production, but emailed that to you already!
I live in Thailand. I have Omnicord OM84 and Qchord. Qchord is probably the most perfect because it has 100 sounds and modern rhythms. OM108 only has more chords, 84 chords can be played already
Sounds like you're all sorted then! I've been reading about Thailand, hoping to visit in 2025 :) Can you recommend the best time of year (least humid, least rain?)?
Oh now that’s cool. Never knew they were bringing out a new one! Question: how much does the midi out control? I hope it’s more than just the buttons and sends note data out from the strumming bit, because that through synths and effects would be mind blowing!
Beautiful! My preorder sadly got canceled due to availability -- did you import yours straight from Japan??? Trying to figure out how/if I can get my hands on one of these or if I'm stuck waiting. ;n;
Thank you for this lovely demonstration. I am wondering if you can figure out a workaround for not having the chord memory interface. Is it possible to control the chord keys with midi?
Thankyou 💫 for the video! I just received mine a week ago and also just ordered the guitar strap buttons. Just unsure if I want to put the screws into the plastic holes. Am i correct to believe that the rhythm is always playing so long as strum pad is being played and only way to stop it is to turn its volume down?
Yes I think you're right on that! I had no trouble adding the strap buttons to the instrument, but then I stood up and realised that without looking at the Omnichord I didn't know what I was playing...more practice needed here :)
@@Penfriendrocks quite true. It was also nerve wrecking installing these screws for the buttons because the Omnichord does not have threaded holes or srew inserts. Instead the screw must bite into the plastic in the holes. 😬
While i would love to own one, I'm in a bad financial state and 800 $ is too much. I'll enjoy watching you play. I'll rather buy a yamaha mini for this price which comes with a few finctionalities.
Omni 1 sounds a bit off. I’ve had my on-84 for the last five months and wanted to buy this one model but there’s just something about the pitch of it. Unless there’s more customisation you can do
Just checked on this and you can adjust the tuning. It’s possible that when I was pressing all the buttons when I turned it on the first time that I pushed the tuning a little out, I can’t hear it myself but anyway yes you can adjust tuning from -6 to +6
I read that there is an Easter egg where if you press a certain combination of buttons on start up it goes into "original OM84 mode" with all the original voices
Hi. Can anyone help me confirm whether there is an option to program a chord progression through chord memory like on the OM-84. I’m not seeing any information about whether 108 has a chord memory interface at all (even checking in the manual). Anyone have any updates on this? This is my main sticking point about the unit…
Hi! I was going to share the link to the OM-108 manual so you can check but if you've already looked through it probably doesn't. I didn't realise that was a thing on other models.
Do you mean the funky basslines? 🤣 You can switch between this and the standard chord sound, yes, or turn the volume of this down completely and have or the rhythm on its own. I can't say I have a lot of use for those either, though I find them fun for making stuff up over there top of.
Cool chords! From the manual: “You can play 108 chords (in combination of roots and suffixes). Root: Db, Ab, Eb, Bb, F, C, G, D, A, E, B, F# Suffix: Major, minor, 7th, Major 7th, minor 7th, Augmented, diminished, suspended 4th, add 9th” - it’s just a matter of pressing multiple buttons at once. I couldn’t find the exact ones you mentioned because my music theory doesn’t extend to those fancy chords, but I just played C sus 4 and C add 9 and my mind js blown!
