  • Toro 570 spray head sprinklers have been around for decades. Given their global usage, it would be wrong to not include them in a video series dedicated to the history of this style of sprinkler. I hope you enjoy this short tribute to my Toro 570 3P with its 12’ half circle nozzle, and thanks for watching! #toro #irrigation #plastic #landscape

Nice popup! Good distance, interesting look back at the company history.

Nice Toro spray head! They always put out a nice even distribution of water. Toro still has a major part in the industry here on the west coast. These spray heads can usually be found at a local home improvement store along with landscape/irrigation supply warehouses.
    Thanks for sharing…

That’s interesting. Back in the day, around here anyway, they tried to control distribution through master distributors and their sub-distributors who could sell the landscape irrigation products.

Nice Toro spray! I can't say i've seen this very often in my area, Back in the day i'd say there was a lot of houses that had these. A neighbor that was behind us had the toro multistreams in the back and sprays in the front. when I was little i always wondered how they worked, now that i'm older i have an idea. I think when I was little I was a little bit more into sprays then I am now. Yours works great! I appreciate you sharing!

Thanks! They were very popular here years ago, but I see fewer of them these days.

    It's finally Monday again!
From a very subjective point of view, I would find an external thread easier to maintain. But I don't have a comparison for these spray nozzles.
But while we're on the subject of these plastic spray nozzles: There is a RAINBIRD clip comparing the RB VAN nozzle with Hunter and TORO nozzles. What can I say? RAINBIRD clearly shows me which nozzle has the best DULQ. Of course, I believed this immediately and have equipped all my up-and-comers with RAINBIRD. When I look at my lawn, it seems to work really well. So what does the experienced irrigation man say? Which spray nozzle is really the best? I have gauged Hunter nozzles with measuring containers. I can only agree with the RAINBIRD video. This is not optimal. In which league does the TORO nozzle play? Surprisingly, the TORO nozzle is difficult to obtain in Germany. Of course I want to hear that I'm in the best position with RAINBIRD.

Dating to my days on the irrigation crew in the mid-1980’s, I felt Rain Bird made the best plastic nozzles. Back then, I was comparing them ti Toro, Nelson, Buckner, Richdel, and Weathermatic, mostly. Hunter did not have a spray head of that style yet. I do believe, though, that the brass nozzles that were made for plastic spray bodies were superior to the plastic versions.

@@antiquesprinklers RAINBIRD nozzles are any good? That reassures me. Brass nozzles are certainly more durable, but my installation relies on VAN nozzles. I need an angle of 200°.

@rasensprengermannparzival3018 yes, I believe they are good. I also know of no other spray that will give you that pattern.
