I've owned Ram's for the last 24 years personally and my family has since the 1950s. I have 4 sitting in my barn currently. The Cummins diesel is a great motor and the truck itself is good. As far as stock HP and get up and go, the Ford 6.7L beats the Ram all day in seat of the pants power. As far as reliability and ease of repair, I'll keep my Cummins. I'm glad to see they are taking off in Australia. The off-road and touring modifications you boys have been doing for years finally can start to be refined and built for USA trucks. You nailed it when you said that Australian made has built a reputation for quality that others look up to. I agree with that. Now to design one of your PCOR beds with the rear tray that also allows a hideaway gooseneck hitch. Find a quality electric locker for the front and rear on the AAM axles that can handle the higher torque and HP. Also, test a snorkel kit that makes sure it allows enough CFM to flow through it to support the turbo(s) on the Ram. Lastly, one free mod that produces great sound out of the turbo, remove the silencer ring from the turbo inlet and let her whistle. Merry Christmas from Texas!
dunno if i'd say taking off. The 2500 cost $170k here before on road costs, plus the $50K worth of "essential mods" listed here, then you're basically at quarter of mill. Nice of you got the coin, but until they make them from the factory in RHD they're priced way too high to be sold in any significant numbers to be considered common.

In the USA I bet you aren’t paying $160 thousand dollars for the truck, then when you look at all the crap added to this one, it’s probably another $100 grand on top. To the average Australian who just wants a nice truck as a family vehicle, sadly all these US trucks are far out of reach. Some say you gain the loss of the get-up and go on the top end with Fuel economy but I never noticed that. Others say the engine runs at a better RPM with the larger tire but with mine running 35's or 37's, I always wanted to regear it to gain some of the get-up and go that I lost. Mine has 373's and was producing a bit more power than stock HP and torque. We run the F550's on 42's at work. Google Skeeter brush trucks for a picture of what I am talking about. They are regeared and also as tall as a house, but the big thing you notice is how much longer it takes to stop the rolling mass. That is on an axle and setup way beefier than the Ram 2500/3500 runs.

id like to see a one off these build companies take an Australian suburban or F250 repair and build it into a weapon. not everyone can get into a new rig.
Mate, if you want to drive the Pinnacle of Ram. I recommend you drive a 1st Gen Dodge Cummins! This is the Ultimate Power House! I love my 1993 Dodge W350 Cummins with a 5 Speed manual !
Justin, I’m an American viewer and love what you’ve done with the truck. I know there are differences in the laws between our two countries, but I would recommend a few parts manufacturers for you to look into for your rig. Morimoto for better headlights and taillights. Hutchinson double beadlocks. Northwest Fabrication for additional transfer case gearing. They make a doubler that will bolt onto the front of the case. Not sure if you would prefer a manual transmission on this rig, but they make one for the Ram trucks as well. It’s a Getrag G56. Many companies sell upgraded models and all the kit needed (bell housing, flywheel, dual-disk clutches, etc.). You NEED to get some locking hubs for the front axle. It can help fuel mileage and make the front more robust. Yukon Gear & Axle makes them. Of course ARB makes air-lockers for the differentials. I’m not sure if you would be interested in methanol injection for the truck, but it can improve fuel mileage and power as well. (You can use windshield wiper fluid in a pinch instead of the formulated blends.) Snow Performance does that. Companies that make good, emissions-compliant performance parts are BD Diesel and Banks Performance. I’m certain I’m not telling you anything you haven’t already researched already, but I just wanted to give you some ideas. I love all of the gear and video content you guys make. You can really turn these trucks into beefy platforms if you are so inclined. Keep up the great work and much love from the US!
Great video! Personally, I'm a Land Rover guy and would love to see a Defender build! Maybe a 110 or 130 tourer, or a 90 weekend warrior build to mix things up. I'm not sure if you build vehicles that aren't in current production though, maybe the new defender, though that's not a very mod friendly platform. Cheers!
Great video, appreciate your honesty regarding cruisers. I'm impressed with the outfit, you're team has come a long way since beginning. Outstanding to see an Ozzie outfit pushing the boundaries 👍
At 64 YOA I don't see myself climbing on the roof to sleep! I have had this thought for awhile BUT possibly will never get around to doing it. So I want to through an idea out there. I know you said PCOR DO NOT CHANGE their shell BUT, BUT I think about it all the time to split the rear with a fully contained sleeper on one side and a full kitchen on the other. Most will say it will not work and I guess they're right BUT hey it is out there NOW.
Actually I think he did mean 22 imperial tons. He said in the states with a 3500 dually. Those are legally rated to tow over 35k lbs. Over 26k lbs needs a commercial license. These trucks are used to transport cars and cargo all the time at a commercial scale when using a semi isnt feasible
Impressive truck. As a grey nomad I would definitely place a bull bar on the front and perhaps move the roof rack for the maxtraxs over the canopy so I could use the sunroof. Video didn't say the fuel tank size, perhaps add another tank if I needed the range.
Hi Mate Great video I am a big fan of RAM and very close to drop in a deposit for RAM. I don’t tow or off-road but nervous about warranty back up and issues it runs into. Any thoughts ?
An idea on your roof racks, have you ever considered an extruded (or expanding) foam underlay molded to the roof? It would add sound and heat isolation, extra load capacity, stability if combined with a lower profile aerodynamic shape be a game changer.
We’re happy with Cummins and power strokes here in the US. We like diesels that move the earth under them rather than propel the truck. We’re a little excessive here

The next luxury is an 8 foot long bed. I have a topper or canopy on mine. Keep a queen size mattress and my fridge in the back, set up all the time. No rain, snow or wind to ever have to worry about while setting up. Always dry.
I don't know if they are available in Australia, but I run a full guard version from Fab Fours that will take up to a 16,500 lb winch. fabfours.com/product/dodge-2500-5500-premium-front-bumper/
I have one and take it off road, it makes my old doubled locked 4.2 gu patrol feel like slug that's hard work on the tracks. Love the ram2500 nothing beats it
Justin in my opinion Sarah's 1500 is a Land Cruiser Killer. Your 2500 is a Land Cruiser eliminator. As for what I would do differently, not much really. I would put a different bar on the front and go all around skid rock sliders, just for a tad more protection. And I would pick a different colour. Otherwise what you have done and the yet to do parts that you have mentioned in the video it is a damn near perfect truck I think.
Oh and Iv been waiting for y’all to do some mods on a classic vehicle. Did Australia get Jeep Forward control trucks back in the day? You should definitely build one.
Great video Justin cheers! If you were in the USA you’d get so much crit for this as there are millions of RAM haters out there with their Fords, Chevys and Toyota’s lol but that’s okay I’m a RAM owner got 2 1500s ones a third gen 6speed manual and I just got a 2020 hemi with ram boxes so I don’t even really need a tray anymore for what I do just a built in bed deck and rolling aluminum cover. I don’t tow and didn’t wana spend $10k more so that’s honestly main reasons I didn’t get a 2500 even though I want one! Since DEF was introduced into the states on diesel trucks I have been put off and prefer the older models especially with the 6speed manual. If they find a way to get rid of the DEF I’ll get a 25-3500 auto next time, but by then maybe the electric offroad trucks might be the way to go 🤷🏻♂️. Either way I’ll keep my gassers til they die. They’re so easy to maintain and even with inferior fuel economy the life cycle cost of the vehicles is great!
Reminds me of the ding in my home fridge that I think 🤔 my derpy dog put in it in one of its spaz episodes. She's a half pittie - half boston rescue so we will excuse her. She's come a long way. Let me know if you figure a way to fix it.😁
Nice run down on the 2500. Would be my pick for a vehicle, if I could afford it. Like you covered awesome torque but out of the box there is bugger all that needs changing. I like you have the basics covered in wheels, canopy etc and not much junk cluttering the interior. Yeah I’d have gone a different bull bar though, a snorkel & a light bar up on the roof rack. I find the high set light bar on the roof rack better for picking up Roos etc out west at night. Big thing, the KISS principle is how I like my trucks too. Nice job on this one. What’s the height of the lift you did? I don’t recall you covering that.
So there’s definitely benefits to the 6.7 vs the 6.4 hemi. The torque is way more in the 6.7, it’s true. The issue is the platform really doesn’t make use out of it. Towing on my 6.4 hemi with 4.10 is 16,880 vs 19,000 with the 6.7. 2100 lbs for nearly double the torque. Why? Cause the platform is exactly the same. More torque doesn’t mean more towing. And you lose about 850 lbs in payload with the 6.7. When you consider all that, and then realize the 6.7 is going to cost you a ton more in fuel and maintenance, the only reason to get a 6.7 is to say you have a 6.7. Which trust me, I get. If you love diesel, it’s the engine you want. But it’s a luxury option, not a necessity.
I've always wanted to ask if those trays and canopies can be made to follow the truck's lines and not stick out at all on either side and above the cab. I prefer tge aesthetics that way imo
I’m from the USA and I would love a 79 but I love my obs 7.3 which y’all would call a f truck and my truck is a 97 f350 With a 8dt bed on it or what we call a long bed and the more I watch y’all videos the more I lean towards going more Australian with my build I go on dirt bike trips and off rod a lot and yalls builds on cool and I am Kinda curious on how y’all would build a truck like that since y’all are the experts on that cause I take the truck all over my home state of Utah and going with a tray and canopy seems like a better fit then the other of putting a bed rack on and leaving the pickup bed but I was wondering if I went to pcor USA would they be able to help me with builds tray that meets my needs or would I need to go somewhere else ?
Love your videos mate and you have great chat. But please sort the volume variation out between the B roll shots and main. Can't stand having to adjust volume for a few seconds so I don't make too much noise on the TV.
I bet you can't wait to get your hands on the new TRX Ram 1500 😁 Would you work on some Jeep wanglers and now the Jeep Gladiator? And in America we do love our big trucks especially here in Texas 😁 lol
It's a sick car if you live in the desert but in the Australian cities it will be too big I think. I drove a Ford F-150 across the states and that was massive I couldn't imagine trying to drive it around the Melbourne inner suburbs.
Maybe modify your whip antenna to be exactly, or even a tiny bit higher than, that height of the vehicle. That way it becomes you height gauge for parking garages etc.

I am in Michigan USA so I think I will have AEV American expedition vehicles in in Wixom, Michigan order your pCore system from Oklahoma and do the installations. Thank you so much! Thomás Gomez
Wouldn’t mind seeing some sort of Ford f-series truck build 🔥
id like to see a one off these build companies take an Australian suburban or F250 repair and build it into a weapon. not everyone can get into a new rig.
Mate, if you want to drive the Pinnacle of Ram. I recommend you drive a 1st Gen Dodge Cummins! This is the Ultimate Power House! I love my 1993 Dodge W350 Cummins with a 5 Speed manual !
Awesome trucks!
🙏
Great video! Personally, I'm a Land Rover guy and would love to see a Defender build! Maybe a 110 or 130 tourer, or a 90 weekend warrior build to mix things up. I'm not sure if you build vehicles that aren't in current production though, maybe the new defender, though that's not a very mod friendly platform. Cheers!
A Land Rover build would be epic!
22 tons? Surely you mean 22000lbs? (11 tonnes)
Love the truck. Thanks for sharing and keep em coming
22000 lbs is 9980 kgs.
@@bazza76d53 Your correct, Thanks
Yeah there's no way that's towing 22tonnes 😂
Actually I think he did mean 22 imperial tons. He said in the states with a 3500 dually. Those are legally rated to tow over 35k lbs. Over 26k lbs needs a commercial license. These trucks are used to transport cars and cargo all the time at a commercial scale when using a semi isnt feasible
patroit games new builds always racing boats love the whole platform great to watch cant wait for fink 23
Impressive truck. As a grey nomad I would definitely place a bull bar on the front and perhaps move the roof rack for the maxtraxs over the canopy so I could use the sunroof. Video didn't say the fuel tank size, perhaps add another tank if I needed the range.
The mighty cummins. A motor the landcruiser should come with 👌🏼
Imagine.
Hi Mate Great video I am a big fan of RAM and very close to drop in a deposit for RAM. I don’t tow or off-road but nervous about warranty back up and issues it runs into. Any thoughts ?
Really like your presentation of a great line of Australian ingenuity. Steve 🇦🇺
Thanks Steve! 🇦🇺
Gotta love the ram!!!! Awesome build!!!
An idea on your roof racks, have you ever considered an extruded (or expanding) foam underlay molded to the roof? It would add sound and heat isolation, extra load capacity, stability if combined with a lower profile aerodynamic shape be a game changer.
Is the Ram 2500 the ultimate touring vehicle? I don’t know , but it’s bloody well got to be up there with the best of the best of them .
We’re happy with Cummins and power strokes here in the US. We like diesels that move the earth under them rather than propel the truck. We’re a little excessive here
If the 70 series Land Cruiser were newly available to Americans, we would be just as excited as Australians getting the Rams. Maybe even more so.
at least a 70 to Americans wouldn't be $140+k rams are to aussies
You can get the ram 2500 in the us with the 6.7deisel or the 6.4 gas this is a badass rig aswell it would be cool to meet you someday.
💪
Mate i love your razor just chillin on the wall ..... forget my deer antlers on the mantle , honey I want a razor on top of my fireplace !!! “ Cross my fingers “
Great vid btw love wat you do, wen I visit Australia again , I would love to visit Australia’s #1 attraction , patriot hq ... definitely a dream come true if possible
Thanks 👍 If your on the Gold Coast stop by!
@@PatriotGames count on it lol 😆
Hehe awesome 😎
The next luxury is an 8 foot long bed. I have a topper or canopy on mine. Keep a queen size mattress and my fridge in the back, set up all the time. No rain, snow or wind to ever have to worry about while setting up. Always dry.
Saw the new Ram 2500 in black on the Gold Coast yesterday. When are you going to do one of them?
Evan if I was given one ide still prefere to drive my 80 series
I have a RAM 3500 awesome truck, Justin, can you please suggest what winch compatible bull bar to put on it? Thanks
I don't know if they are available in Australia, but I run a full guard version from Fab Fours that will take up to a 16,500 lb winch.
fabfours.com/product/dodge-2500-5500-premium-front-bumper/
May you please do an update on the SHERPs?
Friggin' Awesome, Gonna need a bigger boat !
😂 Hell yeah! A bigger boat is always needed!
How do you waterproof these motors for deep river crossings
Who’s ram was the one you took to the Simpson with Tommy Driving?
That is the old SUPERAM 👍
The 2500 with the Cummins would be one of my top choices...awesome!...
I have one and take it off road, it makes my old doubled locked 4.2 gu patrol feel like slug that's hard work on the tracks.
Love the ram2500 nothing beats it
👊
Love the Rams!! Awesome looking truck!!
Thanks 👍
Ram is bad ass!!!!
🙌
Justin in my opinion Sarah's 1500 is a Land Cruiser Killer. Your 2500 is a Land Cruiser eliminator. As for what I would do differently, not much really. I would put a different bar on the front and go all around skid rock sliders, just for a tad more protection. And I would pick a different colour. Otherwise what you have done and the yet to do parts that you have mentioned in the video it is a damn near perfect truck I think.
😂😂😂...land cruiser killer ??? Nothing can kill a land cruiser
When will you be building a extended hilux or 6 × 6 hilux?
Probably never 😆
@@PatriotGames damn you could probably make alot of them then would of been great
I want to see a RAM TRX, PCor style Supertourer.
Oh and Iv been waiting for y’all to do some mods on a classic vehicle. Did Australia get Jeep Forward control trucks back in the day? You should definitely build one.
The TRX is wide even in the states, thats why it needs those 3 amber lights, they are to mark it as commercial truck width
Would be good to see a 200 series build. And a comparison between the 1500, 2500 and a chopped 200 series
Check out our Patriot Campers channel to see 200 Series builds!
@@PatriotGames I've watched dmw builds, so I've got a rough idea on what's involved and how they work. Would just be cool to see a side by side
You guys thought about running dobinsons shocks?
Bad ass truck brother.
Thanks Neil!
cant wait to put one of the Pcor systems on my new 2020 ram 2500
🙌
Gas options in US are 5.7L & 6.4L.
I am very happy AU got the Ram ❤️
We are too !!!
Hey guys. Where are you? Is everything okay? I don't see any updates now a days. Please let me know.
Stay Tuned for new episodes!
I really hope y'all are designing a roof rack for the Toyota Tundra. That looks really good and I like the lower profile.
Maybe one day!
RAM is not a familiar truck on our roads but I like the review and performance.
Is the ding in the fridge door bothering anyone else? 😂
Yep it bothers us 😂
Immensely
Reminds me of the ding in my home fridge that I think 🤔 my derpy dog put in it in one of its spaz episodes. She's a half pittie - half boston rescue so we will excuse her. She's come a long way. Let me know if you figure a way to fix it.😁
Nice rig but I have yet to see anything that qualifies as a Land Cruiser killer
RAM !!! Is the killer....
ok i'm convinced it's the way to go 1084nm where do i sign?
No match for FJ land cruiser and thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
But it’s a luxury option, not a necessity.
hi justin, did you buy the ram in a rhd configuration or you did the conversion
RHD
I've always wanted to ask if those trays and canopies can be made to follow the truck's lines and not stick out at all on either side and above the cab. I prefer tge aesthetics that way imo
Just consider that it's better to scratch something that you can rebuild/change than to destroy your original gear...
They scrapped the 5.7 option in 2017. It's 6.4 hemi we run here. 410hp 430tq. I have 4.88 gears in mine tow 25k lbs with ease.
And you can actually run 37s with no mods and the right back spacing on the rims
I’m from the USA and I would love a 79 but I love my obs 7.3 which y’all would call a f truck and my truck is a 97 f350
With a 8dt bed on it or what we call a long bed and the more I watch y’all videos the more I lean towards going more Australian with my build I go on dirt bike trips and off rod a lot and yalls builds on cool and I am
Kinda curious on how y’all would build a truck like that since y’all are the experts on that cause I take the truck all over my home state of Utah and going with a tray and canopy seems like a better fit then the other of putting a bed rack on and leaving the pickup bed but I was wondering if I went to pcor USA would they be able to help me with builds tray that meets my needs or would I need to go somewhere else ?
Love your videos mate and you have great chat. But please sort the volume variation out between the B roll shots and main. Can't stand having to adjust volume for a few seconds so I don't make too much noise on the TV.
I bet you can't wait to get your hands on the new TRX Ram 1500 😁 Would you work on some Jeep wanglers and now the Jeep Gladiator? And in America we do love our big trucks especially here in Texas 😁 lol
TRX Ram 1500 is one tough truck 👊👊
I would love to see yall work on some Jeep wanglers and the new Jeep Gladiator too.
4:03 the ford 6.7 diesel f250 has 1050 very competitive
RAM !!!!! truck of the year.....THREE years in a row!! that speaks for it self !!
What's the total weight with all the accessories? Because RAM for all it's size and tough looks is still just a 1 tonne ute, except twice the price.
Whats the cost of this setup?
It's a sick car if you live in the desert but in the Australian cities it will be too big I think. I drove a Ford F-150 across the states and that was massive I couldn't imagine trying to drive it around the Melbourne inner suburbs.
I'd be interested to know what the GVM is (Im assuming its over 4495kg and into the heavy vehicle code)
Pretty sure 4500kg most of the American imports
GVM for a Ram 2500 is 4490kg. You get 913kg of payload.
Here in the US the Ram 2500 (non Power Wagon) is 10,000 lbs.
Very cool truck but reckon I'd need side rails for some of the tracks my mates head down for sure.
Maybe modify your whip antenna to be exactly, or even a tiny bit higher than, that height of the vehicle. That way it becomes you height gauge for parking garages etc.
The only time I'll buy a non-Japanese 4x4 is the time I can actually afford to buy, run and maintain one lol
6.7l motor, I can feel my pockets getting lighter every meter
how'd the fridge get dinted?
I have always been a Ram guy, I have an 2011 Ram1500 that I have since 2013 and it’s been part of my family. When I was in active duty for 20 yrs of service, My have been all over the place in the states and will get another Ram. The next one will be a 2500 Cummins. Oh by the way my Ram1500 have 200319 miles and it’s still going strong.
Love our RAM's!!
Nice Video! Whats the name of the song when you show the truck? Thanks!
Dude.. you said everything i love about my Ram 2500 .. but I have a 6.4 Hemi gas with 410 gears.. just so you know i get anywhere from 14-17 liters per 100kms on 35" tires on the highway. We won't talk about city driving 😂. We hunt fish and explore everywhere. This truck works hard and keeps going.
Ram mega cab with aev package which has snorkel airintake lockers and all the other goodies then put the tray on it with all your extras
💪
Can you modify this pcor canopy to add a dog cage on the other side of the spare wheel? In other words extend the dog cage all the way out to the end of the tray bed so it's sits flush?
