Not really assassins, just swords for hire. Mercenaries. They are completely above the law, which is wild, but yeah back in the day dueling was really common practice. You insult someone's honor, they will challenge you to a duel, though not all of them were to the death, some were just to first blood, but even that can result in death so it's not safe by any means. There were also judicial duels, kinda like the whole game of thrones trial by combat thing except with a lot of variations. Those were to settle legal disputes and they weren't always deadly either. There's some really wild manuscripts, treatises and stuff like that on judicial dueling, one of the funniest I saw was a man had to duel a woman, but to make it "fair", they dug a hole in the ground and the man had to be in the hole for the entire fight and I believe they used like a sock full of rocks or something like that as weapons XD just absolutely wild $hit.
@@Reanimatedyt The funniest part is that dueling was seen as a noble thing to do. Peasants didn't have the money to run around with swords and learn complex fencing moves, so if they were insulted they reacted kinda like we do nowadays. Insult back or at most get into a fist-fight. But when you are an arrogant rich boy who is taught from early on that you're better than everyone else and you were taught on how to hold a sword and you think you're hot $hit and you were given a custom made well decorated fancy smallsword to carry on your hip all day...well, things get messy when insults are exchanged. Except in this case, it's more like an arrogant rich kid that took karate lessons as a kid and thinks he's the king of the world, picking a fight with someone in a bar and then that person pays a pro MMA fighter to kick the living $hit out of them and even brings a witness to testify that he was asking for it.
Completely unrelated but I just realized I haven't heard ANYTHING about a hockey anime before, which is crazy cause there is an anime for just about anything. I say hockey because I feel like the potential is there.
@@Reanimatedyt Love you guys and hope you continue these reactions, always been some of my favorite reactors since vinland saga. Even if the views are low Ill be watching every one you upload!
Yess here we are, I definitely love how in each arc we get new characters!! We get to see how much everything changes!!
This the best anime of 2024 for me
RIP Rafal, a real one died but the idea lives on.

lots of character growth this arc, for ozcy his ideal/drive was freedom and for rafael likely truth

Lmao a hockey anime would be 100% a battle shounen
A hockey manga called DOGSRED launched last year by the author of Golden Kamuy, so that anime may be coming soon.
