  • “They said, “Go outside, meet people, you never know, your husband might be there!”Me: “Fine, but can I at least find my traditional clothes first?”So, here’s how it went: After weeks of “gentle” persuasion (read: intense guilt-tripping) from my extroverted mother, I pulled my suitcase out from under the bed, brushed off the dust of procrastination, and found something that said, “Culture Queen” but felt like “Please don’t make me dance.”Fast forward: A two-hour drive. Gloomy UK weather. Four hours of smiling, nodding, and faking extroversion. But I can’t lie-it felt like home. The music? Electric. The food? Comfort on a plate. The dancing? Elite level stamina I do not possess. I stood on the sidelines clapping like I was part of the choreography.Did I socialize? Technically, yes.Did I meet my future husband? Nope.Did I make my mum happy? Absolutely. Mission accomplished. This one’s for my fellow introverts who love their culture but also love their bed. 🛏️🇬🇭Tag a friend whose mum stays convincing them to “just go to one event.” You might relate more than you think. 😏#DagbonUnion #IntrovertChronicles #AfricanCulture #CulturalReset #ButDidIGetAJollofPlate #MumMadeMeDoIt #CanWeTalkAboutTheDancersTho
