It took a long time, but I finally got it through my head that these players are just men. They have good days and bad. Things happen outside their control that contribute to players having a collective bad day. LIke the Cowboys had a lot of first string players out due to injury for the Lions game. Had even some of them been healthy enough to play, it might have been a much different game outcome. Hell - I remember watching a Lions game (against the Bears, I think) where they were beating the shit out of the other team, and one of their top players (wide receiver Chuck Hughes) died on the field from a heart attack on October 24, 1971. That just sank the Lions, and they wound up losing by a huge margin. So yeah - things outside their control can have a direct impact on a specific player, and can lead to a collective bad day for the team. Alla this to say - don't be so down. Individual players can have good and bad days; teams can have good games and bad games. All teams go through cycles when players are traded, age up and retire, get injured, salary caps, and bad management. It's just the nature of the game. So don't be so discouraged.
