    This was so incredibly well explained. Amazing video. do you think you could briefly explain how to "easily" input demon? You mentioned that it's extremely lenient, but I can almost not even do it when I'm standing still in training mode.

    • @NotJohnnyKim
      @NotJohnnyKim  4 года назад +2

      Yeah, you can basically violently mash and the demon will probably come out. The game only looks for the correct inputs anywhere within your input, so you don’t have to have super precise inputs to get it to come out.
      It definitely does take practice though. No matter how lenient, you won’t be able to do it overnight. The only thing I suggest is that you don’t go too slowly when trying to input the demon. If you do it too slowly, the game won’t register the inputs as a demon

    • @NotJohnnyKim
      @NotJohnnyKim  4 года назад +3

      Sorry, just watched the video again and realized this is not the best answer. You can input the demon by “hiding” your demon inputs with other inputs. For example, if you use a button mapped to all 3 punches (say, mapped to R1), you can press only R1 and the game will recognize those inputs as both light punches and hard punches. You can do something like R1 > R1 > forward > light punch > R1 and the demon should come out.
      I use this same idea, but instead of just R1, I also use a v-skill button, so that while I am doing v-skill kick, I am doing the first few inputs for the demon. Definitely look at my inputs in the video if you want to see it in action.

    Great vid but I just found different inputs to Tokido’s setup that raging demons them before they jump! Plink LP+MK on block, plink LP+MP+MK, Foward, LK, and then HP and it Raging Demons Cammy before she neutral jumps out of block!

    • @NotJohnnyKim

      That input sequence is actually really smart. Seems like the best way to get stmk xx vskill while also setting up the demon with the lp input.

    3:28, you can still jump after demon activation? This confuses me because I thought the whole point of Kara demon is that you can't jump out of it if you weren't holding jump already when activated.

    • @NotJohnnyKim
      @NotJohnnyKim  4 года назад

      What's happening here is I am waiting for the Akuma bot to cancel to st.mk into anything. I'm basically waiting for his animation to change a bit from what his st.mk would normally look like. The reasoning is if an Akuma with demon on deck is canceling a st.mk on block into anything, they are most likely going for the kara-demon, so you'll want to hold up.
      The distinction here is you want to hold up AFTER st.mk has been cancelled into something, but BEFORE the demon comes out.
      Let me know if this is still confusing.

    Great video! This is probably the best one on youtube. Is there a meaty demon setup you can do off of VT1 DP hard knock down?

    • @NotJohnnyKim
      @NotJohnnyKim  4 года назад +1

      Thanks homie! And yes there is! You can do crlp > crmp as a framekill after vt1 dp, and it'll leave you +4. Then you can do vs1 to parry anything your opponent might try to do, and then do the demon.
      Typically, i would avoid meaty demons, however. They get complicates. It's better to go for a setup like dash demon, or the kara demon.

      @@NotJohnnyKim thanks for the fast and detailed reply!! Is that bc meaty demon loses to reversal super or DP? Considering wake up jump isn’t super common at my level of play I was thinking it’d be strong

    • @NotJohnnyKim
      @NotJohnnyKim  4 года назад +1

      @@sweetshoez meaty demon is not bad, its mostly because your opponent gets 2 frames of throw invincibility on wakeup, so if you do the demon too quickly, then they can jump out on reaction.

      Theres not a whole lot to explain, so I'll just put it here.
      I set the L2 button, which is usually mapped to all 3 kicks, to vskill, so medium punch + medium kick. I mostly do this so that pressing L2 twice gives me vskill kick followup really easily. It turns out that it is really useful for demon setups.

      If you are looking to counter the normal kara-cancel demon, you just need to be aware of it and jump when you think your opponent is going to go for it. There are other things you can do to try to prevent it, but the best thing to do is guess.

      @@markcarloestabillo5461 It mostly is a 50/50, but there are things you can do to lean it towards your favor.
