    Where do you keep the sand /leaves/ water container for a month? Outside in sun? Or indirect sun indoors?

    @nature What type of sand did you use? Does it need to be “live” sand, like what you would use in an aquarium or just any sand?

      You don't have to use the sand. You can just put the stems in glass of water, don't forget to change the water every week. Using sand doesn't have any sense. I always propagate the ZZ stems using just water and always i had 💯 success

    What will happen to the plant that you cut from? Those raw edges of the plant, will they grow into another or will it simply callus over?

      The parent plant will respond by triggering new growth in those areas, eventually becoming fuller and stronger.

      I have a zz plant and anytime a stem was damaged and I had to cut it it just calloused no new growth

    This doesnt give you more plants than you had to begin with though? Do the stems you cut from the original plant grow back?

      I just cut some stems from my ZZ and removed the bottom leaves - placed the stems (with a few leaves at the top) in water, and there were baby roots in about a month 👍

      @@ouridatagnit8820 actually in Iraq you can buy a50 kilos for 1dollar it’s available in the nurseries we call it ( zmeeg / زميج ) it’s a black sand . But I don’t know where you could find something similar’ try vermiculite

      In the beginning (before cutting) is normal soil. After cutting I put leafs in sand soil

      Hola tu puedes hacer tu propia mezcla con tierra para jardín perlitas blancas puedes usar un poquito de umus de lombris

    I'm confused. The stalks already had roots. Then they were cut down, put in water to grow roots. But they had roots already. Why?

      This is done to make new plants out of a single plant. The new shoots with roots will form independent plants.

    I have a 65 pound ZZ plant that just got its first flower on it so I've been thinking about propaging it. I've never cut it unless there was a shoot that was dying. Would this still work with how big the shoots are?
