This is my reaction to Edyta Górniak - To Nie Ja (Poland Eurovision Song 1994)
In this video I react to Polish music by reacting to the Polish Eurovision song from 1995 from Polish singer Edyta Górniak and her song To Nie Ja.

She's still famous in Poland. It's good to note that this was Poland's debut in Eurovision and still remains its most successful entry, finishing second in the contest.
Prawda taka, że Edyta Górniak zdecydowanie powinna wygrać tamten konkurs. Aby prawidłowo oddać różnicę klas, kolejnych przynajmniej dwu miejsc nie powinni przyznać. Jednak zakompleksiony zachód nie chciał aby konkurs kolejny odbywał się w Polsce (a gdyby się odbył byłby bez cienia wątpliwości najlepiej zorganizowanym konkursem w historii - kiedy Polacy się za coś biorą, robią to perfekcyjnie) i dlatego wybrali na zwycięzcę dwóch facetów z gitarą i przy pianinie nucących jakąś smetną przyśpiewkę o tym jak kiedyś było fajnie. Eurowizja nie nadaje się do promowania artystów i nie ma żadnego przełożenia na jakość utworów, bo tam rządzi tylko i wyłącznie polityka.
@@kibiclegii Edyta złamała zasady konkursu (zaśpiewała podczas próby jurorskiej po angielsku co nie było wtedy dozwolone), więc i tak mieliśmy szczęście, że nas nie zdyskwalifikowano, a jedynie zbojkotowali nas niektórzy jurorzy. Tak się kończy kombinatorstwo.

It`s very important to say, she was not a contestant in that show, but of course she was a judge.
Fun fact: she was sick during that performance.
She was second, still the best result of Poland in Eurovision. Ich Troje were 7th and Michał Szpak was 8th. Thats all
It was so much, much better than most of the songs that are currently, in recent years, performed at the Eurovision contest.

Since this day we don't have in Poland anyone who can sing ss good as her. Edyta is not super active on music stage atm but still she is an icon ❤

In my opinion, she is the best living Polish singer. She still sings. She has a unique voice and a beautiful soul. She came 2nd at Eurovision, although she seemed unrivaled.

Edyta Górniak is a famous in Poland and her voice is undeniably amazing. She herself is somewhat of a controversional figure because of all the conspiracy theories she supports, but her talent IS jawdropping.

She absolutely nailed it. Obviously. But... she made one mistake. The day before the live final, there is a final dress rehearsal at every Eurovision. The juries vote on THAT performance. The dress rehearsal was also recorded so that it could be used as a backup if there was any interruption to the live broadcast of the final. In that dress rehearsal, Edyta (allegedly) sang an English version of her song (which was even more amazing), but this broke the rules. Delegations from other countries complained, but Edyta was allowed to perform in the final, however I suspect she was penalized for her actions. The ultimate beneficiaries were the Irish hosts who went on to win again... for the third year in a row. I am Irish, so I feel conflicted. I love our winning song and I love To nie ja. I loved all Polish entries from the early years - Ale Jestem by Anna Maria Jopek is also amazing.

Another contestant in Eurovision - Kasia Kowalska. However, the song she sang in the competition (Chcę znać swój grzech) was not as successful as her other songs. Check out "A to co mam".

For the international audience: Edyta was almost disqualified from the Eurovision contest because on one of the rehearsals she sang the song in English (which was against the rules). This probably had some impact on the results (2nd place) because then there were no audience points (only from the judges)
After Eurovision Edyta did some songs for Disney (e.g. Colors of the wind) in Polish versions and recorded her best album Dotyk (Touch). She's still relevant and by many regarded as the biggest diva in Polish music history but her latest songs weren't as successful as in the 90s or 00s.

Edyta has great vocal talent and a beautiful voice. Unfortunately, her wisdom is not matched by her musical talent and when Edyta speaks on a subject I am ashamed that someone like that is Polish. Edyta is a version of Britney Spears (mental problems) in Polish music only she doesn't make videos of dancing with knives yet.

She was incredibly talented. I saw and heard her performing live in the first cast of the "Metro" musical by Janusz Józefowicz around 30 years ago when I was in high school and she was a revelation. If she was born in America she would be another Whitney Houston. Then again it's probably for the best that Clive Davis or another Diddy didn't put his dirty hands on her. Anyway Edyta was brilliant back then and the Eurovision did her dirty not giving her the first place because of a lame pretense she sung in English during the rehearsal. Listen to her version of "Szyby" (Glass) or "Litania" (The prayer") from "Metro" musical.

She is one of the best, Polish vocals of all time. In recent years she has become a bit detached and talks nonsense about cosmic energy and so on. Nevertheless, as far as the vocals themselves are concerned, she is very respected in our country. My father teaches singing and I remember as a child how after that performance he was flooded with new female students wanting to sing like her. Of course, learning is one thing and physical conditions are another ;)
Beautiful female voices also include KORA, Renata Przemyk, Katarzyna Nosowska.
Everyone thought she would have first place but unfortunately, the River Dance group from Ireland took it, and she was second.

When it comes to Poland's performance at Eurovision, I highly recommend Michał Szpak (Color of Your Life)
This performance by Ms. Edyta Górniak took place in 1994 during the first time Poland performed in the Eurovision contest. She won second place (although many believed then and now that she should have won). Ms. Edyta was and is a beautiful woman with an amazing voice, although her music may not be my cup of tea, one cannot deny her incredible talent and the fact that she did not have an international career on the scale of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion or Barbara Streisend is simply a misunderstanding and failure of her managers, and at the same time a manifestation of the times at that time, when Poland was just returning to the "world maps". Nowadays, however, it is a shame to listen to Ms. Edyta, unless only as a joke. Stories about reptilians, that she has been alive for 4,000 years, that due to 5G technology she no longer has orgasms only cause shivers of embarrassment.
