I'm 52 years old and remember watching this for the first time in '92. This is my all time favorite performance of my all time favorite song. I've heard it hundreds of times and watched the Unplugged performance dozens and dozens of times...and it still brings tears to my eyes. A masterful performance of an amazing song. The stars were truly aligned on this night.
Exactly. I have been feeling/thinking the exact same thing for years. I’m 44. All time favorite performance and song. Tears or goosebumps each everytime I see this performance. Also I’ve been seeing each Black performance reaction video on RUclips. Love to see those reaction.
This performance made him a star, they were on the way but this cemented it. I remember talking to all my friends the next day and everyone was now a fan.
The pain and joy a woman can give to a man is in this song. If anyone has ever lost a good woman, they can relate to this song. I can relate and it makes me cry every time.
@@shaun374 the joy is in all the memories you shared with that person and even just thinking a bout it makes you smile a little, even if you know those times are never coming back
I was 23 when Pearl Jam originated.. and I went to buy their CD Ten and this song opened a revelation in me I nvr knew existed. I wrote my first poem to this song. Now I'm a published poet of 6 books, and I owe it all to Pearl Jam's Black.. this song is still captivating almost 30 years later.
@4:25 He says, "I know some day you'll have a beautiful life. I know you'll be a star...in somebody else's sky. Why? Why can't it be mine?". I always thought that was super painful. This is one of my favorite songs.
@@richardconnelly7141 kknow what u mean. But i felt it differently, juss how the song sings actually :P Also sing it and play it on my guitar. Very good song
Some song suggestions....... Nirvana - Where did You Sleep Last Night (Unplugged), Fleetwood Mac - Landslide, Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm, Elliott Smith - Say Yes, Black Crowes - She Talks to Angels, Flaming Lips - Do You Realize?
Oh I love your spirit! You and the other are beautiful souls. This song is the type that reaches deep into your feelings as well as thoughts. Btw-I’m a young 62’ years old and want to say what we feel at 20’, 30’, and so on, we feel feel no different as we grow older. Life is amazing. Full of change and experience but who we are and what we feel doesn’t change.
This is probably the saddest song every made most people can relate to the heartbreak he is singing about you can hear the pain in his voice.. unrequited love is the worst kind of love the pain never goes away..😭😢💔. Since my wife soulmate left me a few weeks ago I realized I will never have a love like her my life I will die alone..😭
Something to note, having the lyrics on hand for Pearl Jam's songs is a good idea. Eddie Vedder is sometimes hard to understand. The lyrics to this and a whole lot of Pearl Jam's music are meaningful.
Did you watch "stairway to heaven by HEART? a tribute by 3 of the band members are watching. The drummer is the son playing the drums for his late father that passed. HEART KILLED THIS SONG at the KENNEDY CENTER. .
I love watching reaction videos to songs that I love as I enjoy watching it with someone else, if that makes sense. You really *got* this, it resonated, and the fact you looked up the lyrics, for the most powerful part (I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star, in somebody else's sky, But why, Why, Why can't it be, Oh can't it be mine" had me nodding. Oh, and your eyes, my word, lady. Ha ha.
Oh my God! I am literally speechless at the moment. I had to tap myself severally at some point; needed to be sure I wasn’t dreaming..lol Thank you!❤️💖
You should react to "Temple Of The Dog - Hunger Strike". Eddie sang that with the late Chris Cornell. You won't be disappointed in that one. Just wanted to say you have such a beautiful smile.
No you were hearing Jeff Ament their base player. I have seen a lot of bands live to include Jimi Hendrix and Led Zepplin but for me the very best was Pearl Jam. For those who doubt me just watch an live performance of a young Pearl Jam and see what energy they brought. On this video you can see the raw emotion that Eddie Vedder brings to a song.
Might I request that you give a reaction to Simon and Garfunkel's "Like a Bridge Over Troubled Water." I really think you might enjoy it, especially the voice of the singer. It is beautiful. Also if you could also react to "Angie" by the Rolling Stones. It is quite soft and emotional too, I think. I love your reactions!!!! They are straight from your heart!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😫 It's about him wanting a women he will never have. You have to watch it several times to understand..he is heartbroken you can hear it in his voice.. I know how it fills lost my wife 3 weeks ago to cancer I'm all alone and lost without her..😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I came to see your reaction but I couldn't take my eyes off you. You are simply a spectacle! You're too beautiful... Eyes, smile, skin, EVERYTHING. What a perfect woman! Sorry for my sincerity, but you are very beautiful.
Thank you for reacting to one of Seattle's best bands (no one beats Heart)! Eddie Vedder is a great vocalist, such that even when the song he is singing is not my favorite, I still enjoy his performance. I'd like to suggest one of Pearl Jam's underrated songs, one no one has reacted to - it's called "Crazy Mary" and you will enjoy it very mjch!

Never a truer word said

My first CD I bought at 14 in 1992. still loving it.
Its awesome how young people can still find a bit of relevance to these older songs from my youth. Pains still the same I spose.
im proud to experience this music when It came out....in High School....great memories
Fantastic band!!! Totally amazing rabbit hole you’ve discovered, enjoy!!!👌👍🎵🎶✌️😎
There are no female backup singers. Those are the other band members, all men.
U dont stop to talk during song, u dont talk during song, u comment on the lyrics, and this is the best reaction video
Thank you!🙃
Gorgeous song, gorgeous woman, and I survived another day of 2020.

My favorite band all time.....but I admit the first album I had to get the lyrics to understand most of the songs.....after that, I was hooked
Pearl Jam is a legandary band. The band has so many super great songs so insanely intense!
What a smile at the end. Congratulations dewd.
The backup you thought was a female was both Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament harmonizing at the same time. lol. Pearl Jam are so damn good!
listened to this version alot and still gives me goosebumps , its an amazing performance and one of the best of all time

Never really got into Pearl Jam however after listening to this song I will listen to more of their music. I was impressed with this song.
start with the album "Ten" every song is great
@@johnkendall6558 Cheers John. I will do that
Just don’t expect every album to be like Ten. They are all different and wonderful in their own ways without repeating their first album

They are really just a sung poem. Pure poetry. So much imagery and a whole lot of metaphor.
Especially when Eddie skips lines the way he did in this performance.
