JongHo is actually an amazing rapper. Singing is his love though, so we probably won’t hear anything more than him just playing around on occasion. He is also an amazing dancer. HongJoong once commented that if he wasn’t holding back when they dance that they would be known as JongHo and those seven other guys.
I didn't know HongJoong said that but it actually feels like he's holding back ;P

@@citrikraptor yes that's obviously it... He can't sing as powerfully if he's out of breath. The choreos are even made especially for him to pause when he has to reach a powerful high note.

I read somewhere, that the mentioned "rolli" is some kind of old korean cigarrettes. It makes sense since the lyrics say "Lollipop instead of a rolli". They are trying to say "why smoke and have cigarrette in your mouth when you can have a lollipop?" Also the message of the whole song is basically "Only because you act all gangsta doesn't mean you're cool. We are the ones that lead you, because we are just good"

You should find a video of their FEVER MEDLEY performance (THE LEADER, GOOD LIL BOY and TO THE BEAT) they’re nasty and they are killing it. I think, ATEEZ during their EUROPE TOUR in MADRID DAY 1 2022 did an amazing and unforgettable performance. Recommended

okay, i'm here for the songs that you wouldn't prolly enjoy that much.
i think it will be "turbulence", "eternal sunshine", maybe "illusion", "aurora" as well, "not too late" and "star 1117". BUT they are still incredible, with a lot of GOOD singing and lyrics that i love sm (exp not too late and turbulence).
but what i WILL suggest you to do next is:
- don't stop
- the king
- rocky (boxers' ver)
these songs slapped me in the face. i won't even mention "to the beat", it's just the must.

okay, but since you started talking about jongho rapping, i must say my thoughts about it!!!
we got a bit of jongho rapping in some variety shows and radio podcasts, and even if he does this like a joke almost every time, i think if edenary team (prod. team of ateez) allows him rap seriously, HE WILL KILL IT. since he is a vocalist, he has an incredible breathing control and pronounciation of words, that's why he sounds very confident when he jokingly raps, and when he does it on the concerts asking mingi to rap his parts... teddy, he is allrounder. i want him to rap on some tracks so bad.

on their 2022 tour they did a "fever medley" which included good lil boy, the leaders and to the beat and i've never been the same after seeing that live 🥲

There is a performance with having an armband and some of them wearing suits but they just use part of the leaders as an intro for another song. But I dont want to say too much about that.

I think a slower paced song that has amazing Ateez vocals but might not be your taste to relisten to on your own time could be Light and Be With U. You’ll love it for Jongho’s vocals alone though

Yay I've been waiting for this! So, rolly I think stands for either drugs or cigarettes. They're basically saying it's not cool to use those things, and leaders don't use them. The whole song is about what's "cool" and what's not. And one thing that is really cool Abt Ateez is that they all can do pretty much everything! That means Jongho can rap soooo good! I wish we can hear it more!
Also, yes! Ateez do like anti-mainstrean music. They don't do music that caters to the general public, but instead they do unique music that has meanings and has different sounds. It's why they're not really popular in Korea. Korea likes the sexy, catchy, cutesy, happier, a lot of times boring music. It's why Ateez and stray kids are considered "noisy", when in reality, the gp just doesnt have taste. Ateez are really open about not changing who they are nor changing their music. They're all about staying humble, kind, being who they are and making what they want to satisfy themselves instead of others. It's why most of their music is different and they don't just have one "sound":) they also want to make their mark and be the best without changing who they are and their music. They want to put forth positivity and something different.
Keep in mind that Ateez also has a lot of slower, sad, uplifting, songs too, almost ballads and summery songs.. I love most of them But I'm not sure if you'll like them or not😂 some songs I'm not sure if you'll like them or not are Be with you, light, WITH U, and maybe the letter.
Some songs I would love if you listened to next are Don't stop, good lil boy, to the beat, and win. Also, the leaders I don't think has a full love but they have a complication of it with good lil boy, and to the beat, so if those are the only live versions, I recommend listening to those 2 songs first before! KCON Saudi Arabia 2022 has a good performance!

many ateez' slower/chill/ballad b-side songs like star 1117, if without you, the letter, one day at a time & be with you (AND SO MANY MORE) might not be the most ground breaking songs but the lyrics on all of these are written for atinys 🥹

A lot of people might suggest some of Ateez more chill tracks as songs you might not like, but I have a feeling you will still like many of them for the Jongho moments and the strong lyrics. However, there are a few tracks I'd be very surprised if you liked them very much and those would be:
"A Little Space" by Pentatonix ft. Ateez (a collab with the a capella vocal group Pentatonix) It just doesn't seem like a "Teddy will love it" type of track
"Be My Lover" Kim Jong Kook(김종국) X ATEEZ(에이티즈) - ‘바다 보러 갈래?’ Official MV ruclips.net/video/JUFpIKx6y2c/видео.html - this is a collab done with the same member of Turbo that made an appearance in their Black Cat Nero Video.
"Ditto (New Jeans cover)"by Maddox and Jongho - even though this is a Jongho track, it doesn't seem like your song style. You will probably enjoy Jongho's vocals, however.
"Eternal Sunshine" is the only song I rarely listen to from Ateez. I'd be surprised if this is a Teddy track.
I highly recommend "Rocky" as your next video to watch that you will probably love from Ateez.

Ok so I know this is 3 months old, but just wanted to let you know that 'rolli' is Korean slang for a cigarette! The song is about how it's lame to do stuff or act out in order to be perceived as cool. 3.5 minutes of ATEEZ saying "Why are you putting on a character and pretending like you're a bad man? Look at us: we dont need to do any of those things to be cool and run this shit, so what's your excuse? Just be yourself and stay respectful and humble, you look goofy lmao"
