My 'guilty pleasure' is to close the curtains, unplug the phone, switch off my mobile and curl up on the sofa with the Dinnerladies box-set.It is a joy to watch from beginning to end.Twink with her surly attitude,Anita who's not 'quite with it',the banter 'tween Dolly & Jean & the simmering, slow burn romance 'tween Bren & Tony.Oh & of course there's Stan with his retractable bollards, lol.Victoria Wood got it spot on with this wonderful series, and with the cast. But then she IS a genuius.
I think she's also given a bit more screen time and character than the first series; she still retains much of the same sarcastic, disinterested tone throughout which made her entertaining before, but she's also given a lot more heart as well, such as when she stands up to Bren's mother on her behalf, putting Petula into her place in the Christmas special.
@789bluebear this series had a whole storyline based on Twinkle being pregnant/thinking she was. Then she walked in being skinny, and Victoria Wood had to re-write quite a lot of the series after the first rehearsal
Anne Reid is fantastic as Jean. And Sue Devaney as Jane. Two believable characters. Although the verbal attacks on Phillipa the Human Resources person was very badly written by Victoria Wood and came across as quite immature.
Easily one of the funniest series ever. VictoriaWood was a genius.
Victoria is sadly missed. She was a brilliant comic and writer. RIP

😂😂😂have a nice time.
Thank you very much for putting these up, it is great to see these all over again and again!
love this show its wonderful and relaxing
I love that bit at 3:30 where it's clearly just Anne calling out Victoria for saying "Minnelium" again but Vic just runs with it like a pro.
The genius comedy from Victoria wood will always live on from her first debut on new faces I knew she was class
Joanne Froggatt and Maxine Peake would later star together in See No Evil, The Moors Murders
Please put this back on TV. There are no good funny series on TV anymore.
she also played Zoe is Coronation street
A huge loss RIP
Eileen Grimshaw as Glenn the Bread Woman :D
I prefer Twinkle in this series than series one. I think she's more prettier! :)

Twinkles lost weight

@utubefanno1 Joanne Froggatt....the one who is the "work trainee"
Not to mention Anna in Downton Abbey
lol that work experience women is such a blondie
