    Transmitted: 3 Dec 98
    Duration: 30 minutes
Twinkle has something weighing on her mind. In fact, everyone seems to be in a bad mood at the moment, so Philippa attempts to cheer everyone up by breaking the routine. She makes lots of suggestions, most of which are turned down. Her final suggestion is a "Bring your mother to work" day, which the staff are not too impressed with.

Bloody hell,I nearly spat my tea all over the place, when she says,"Bren, can you spread 'em for Tony?" I usually don't go a month without getting my Dinnerladies boxed-set out it is fricking hilarious!

IMHO pure genius and possibly Victoria Wood's finest hour(s) but I'm a Brit of a certain age from a (very) working class area not far away from where this series was supposedly located. As a consequence I probably get some of the references and jokes that perhaps others might not. But I'm honestly intrigued as to why 4 people have given this the thumbs down. Maybe haters just gonna hate?

I can't believe i'm actually going to try to use psychology, to explain the happenings in a british comedy series.. But here goes: If you notice the general relaxed attitude of safety between the workers, how Twink often lobs a cardboard box down at Stan to get his attention, it wouldn't surprise me if Tony hadn't spoken to Stan about having the lock tampered with, so that during the day it would remain open for his regular smokes.

Can someone,PLEASE,fricking explain how Tony always manages to get back into the canteen after he's been for a ciggie? The door is a fire-door/exit-door and it's on a bar release which doesn't open from the outside,so once you're on the other side of it you're in effect locked out.I never see him wedge it open.I'm losing sleep over this, lol.

what is it Anitta has against fatima whitbred

Fatima Whitbread had that crimped hairstyle in the 90s - presumably if you’re a young petite Anglo-Indian girl with image issues it’s a bit awkward on many levels to be compared to an Anglo-Greek body-building older woman. Even tho I don’t think there’s owt wrong with Fatima personally!

When the pan lands on Jeans foot, watch Dolly carefully. She picks it up off the side, and actually drops it herself.
