      This bnm inverter could be just that
      Honnestly its way to to slow and to lame for a thrillcoaster of any ckind but converted to a flying coaster you could theme it with rocks and
      a cave a few huge trees that you try to navigate whule crashlanding
      Maybe add some height in the first part for extra speed at the mid brake
      You might even tell part ofcthe story in the cue

    Incredible video, 40 mins passed by so quickly. Please keep it up.
    Quick q, for the horizontal supports underground, would cuboid beams be sturdier than the cylindrical ones?

    • @PrengineBudoz
      @PrengineBudoz  8 месяцев назад

      that’s a really good question! So, in theory, say that you want to compare beams of around the same size, then squared beams would be the best decision between the two. Now, squared beams, due to the geometry, at much more expensive to produce and therefore, to buy. In theory, in real structures, not even squared beams are used in metallic structures, but a series of normalised sections are used, for example, an IPE section (which is basically having a double T, one of them being upside down, or a mayus “i” with those horizontal stripes, if you will). They require the use of less steel for the same effect due to their geometry, but again, their cost goes a bit up, and they’re used to support big constant loads, so they’re not that sturdy when it comes to fatigue (fatigue is applying a force then getting rid of it and doing this process so on, for example, when you’re taking a clip and bend it in different directions you’re testing the fatigue capacities of the material). A roller coaster does that cause the loads when a train is going through the track and when its the track by itself is very different, so fatigue comes into play. Also, all this is taken into account when we’re talking about static forces, but since the trains are moving, forces are dinamic, so there could be a situation where the squared section would not be beneficial cause the forces are applied in a non favourable direction of the support, which doesn’t happen in the cylindrical one because of its radial symmetry. So, to sum up. Squared supports are better, but more expensive to create; cylindrical ones are cheaper, but less sturdier, so you gotta see what results cheaper for your forces, and find the threshold for when the squared support is more viable than the other one. Pretty long explanation but i hope you got at least the main idea, im not that good at explaining deep engineering in english since i haven’t studied it in that language, but i hope i explained myself well!!!! 😊

    • @SMCoasters97
      @SMCoasters97 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@PrengineBudoz oh wow, so a lot of thought went into choosing the cylindrical ones. Appreciate the explanation, I understood it all your English is not bad at all. Really interesting, part of me wonders whether I could have done engineering instead

    • @PrengineBudoz
      @PrengineBudoz  8 месяцев назад

      @@SMCoasters97 I honestly would not have chosen anything else to be honest, I'm happy with my decision, but if you're looking to focus only on rollercoasters civil engineering (or any engineering degree) is not your place. Roller coasters are not even mentioned in the career. In civil engineering ofr example, me and my classmates are aware that we are able to build them cause its basically mixing rails (which we study in railroad lectures) with dynamic structures, which we also study, but nothing mixing both and naming it "rollercoaster". Civil engineering is a very broad engineering; basically everything you see on a daily basis has civil engineering in it, so we don't go in deep in every civil engineer variations there could be you know? But yeah, there's very interesting lectures in there

    • @SMCoasters97
      @SMCoasters97 8 месяцев назад

      @@PrengineBudoz I remember when I was younger I did realise this too, although I did find the real aspects of civil engineering interesting though. Maybe in another life

      @@its_jj_maia exactly my point being an engineer you would think one would like the challenge.. and you can theme just as good on No limits just have to know what your doing

    • @PrengineBudoz
      @PrengineBudoz  9 месяцев назад +1

      No limits would be great if I only wanted to focus in the roller coasters themselves, but not even that program/game would be enough for me to have enough content to focus on. There is no way to do structural, wear and tear, aerodynamics foundation or any type of calculations in NoLimits because i lack a lot of info needed for it to be a realistic coaster in terms of foundations etc. At the end of the day it's not a real roller coaster designing software, it's just a game to see the product. I do have NoLimits and play with it and FVD sometimes, but I'm specialising in both structural engineering and transport and land engineering. Planet coaster is the game that lets me have a bit of both without going in too deep in neither of them (at the end of the day I'm playing the game trying to apply what I learnt to a game that is not designed for engineering purposes) which i don't want to do because if i did then this would be a boring series of me doing math and breaking my head figuring out how to make the rollercoaster stable, and I honestly have enough with my classes lmao.
      So yeah, to sum up, basically i use PlanCo because it has people in it and money, land and guest management in it :)
