Winston (born 1972), shares the #6 place with Toronto's Charles. Winston, however, is a LEGEND and one of the most wonderful silverbacks I know!!

Esta.muy cuidado pero tiene artritis que le dificulta la movilidad come muy bien así le sucede a Nene sus piernas estaban estos días inflamadas le pusieron tratamiento mejoro pero no se cura están muy cuidados bello el zoológico ❤

At least theses beautiful animals have access to to outdoors, sunlight, a roomy enclosure unlike the zoo videos of gorillas you see from Japan. Those poor gorillas are stuck in small concrete boxes, far too many in a small area with the tiniest ‘outdoor’ area, if you can even call it that. It’s heartbreaking to see. Kudos to this zoo, San Diego zoo for making sure these animals have decent enclosures with trees, grass, sunlight, lots of room and even running water. ❤

Older gorillas often have the same ailments humans do when they age. Like humans, however, there are now good medicines to help with pain, altho it doesn't fix things 100% so often you will see older gorillas walking hunched over or slowly. I know how they feel! LOL!
