I started to learn drawing from your First book (the Art and science of drawing) and Im surprised how I get better Faster than any book else, Thanks, can you make how to color, I Would like to learn Coloring from Your content!
Can't wait for it. Your first book was amazing, really easy to understand and with great exercises, same as with your video courses. Most other books about learning to draw are outdated or are too much focused on abstract ideas and emotions.
Is the video course and the book the same information? Also, will one be able to draw the figure from imagination after learning the skills from this course?
My books (The Art & Science of Drawing: Learn to Observe, Analyze and Draw Any Subject and The Art and Science of Figure Drawing: Learn to Observe, Analyze, and Draw the Human Body) are intended to be a stand alone resource although many students buy them to accompany the courses. The courses provide a more complete look at the drawing process and allow for video demonstration. The books cover most of the ideas in the courses, include a few new ideas, and the book has dozens of new illustrations and diagrams. Drawing the figure from imagination is one of the most advanced drawing skills. I highly recommend having some serious study and experience before attempting it. When I draw from imagination I use all of the same tools and techniques I teach but instead of drawing from observation, I imagine the figure in my head and construct it on the page. After extensive practice and study you will understand the body well enough to know what happens to all of the volumes as they change positions. You're welcome to try, just be patient and realize how complex and advanced this subject is. It's critical you have very strong fundamental drawing skills before beginning drawing from imagination.

Yes, hopefully early next year. It is available for delivery from Amazon in the UK: The Art and Science of Figure Drawing: Learn to Observe, Analyze, and Draw the Human Body (available December 2023) amzn.to/3u6UV0v
You really need to do something about the atrocious typography on your website. There’s no excuse for teeny-tiny light grey on a white background. I find it quite vexing to see a visual communicator display such typographic negligence
Brent's first book is available in Italian: L'arte e la scienza del disegno. Osservare, analizzare e riprodurre qualsiasi soggetto: amzn.to/3R2SsNT His first book is currently being translated into Chinese. You can checkout the FAQs for any updates with additional languages in the future: www.brenteviston.com/resources
I am slightly deviation from your opinion. Drawing is spontaneous. It is by birth. It is god gift. It is a talent. It is not a skill. Singing. Dance. Art. All arts are spontaneous from birth
Jajajaja nope, science proof that is a skill, the talent doesn't exist, the only "talent" that we have is the willpower, and that is the proof of your humanity, because only the human take decisions, that Will is your only gift from god, the essence of your humanity.
What's truly commendable is your approach to simplifying complex concepts without sacrificing depth👍
Thank you.

Do the books need to be used with the course or can you substitute them for the course themselves and vice versa?
