Thanks Tim. Even after mastering it, I still use it. This week particularly, I am lining up two intimate hands, and using the triangulation to line up their knuckles. Ha, it works.
Thank you for this video. My life drawing teacher taught me this method in my first year of university. Sadly he did not explain it nearly as straight forward as you have here! Now I am starting my third and final year of my BA I am retracing my steps to improve my drawing skills. Now I can finally understand what he meant.
@Michael Newberry Any tips when trying to freehand draw an accurate copy of a picture without using any grids? How do I make the drawing exact and have everything at the exact position etc?
The keyword there is "freehand"; you could use a projection on paper canvas but that is a type of tracing not freehand. You can use the same principles in this video, without drawing the axis lines. In real life I mimic axis lines in space without touching the paper, then mark on the paper where the landmarks are, and then continue to draw as normal. Good luck.
LiwaywaySaGubat the app died with my iPad, I couldn’t find the one I used for the tutorial but I found another which works pretty good and you can record as well and works on an iPhone with you finger. You Doodle
It’s an old vid but I can across it today. Other videos about “tri” were sooo cumbersome. This one is my go to.
Thank you so much Lynn!
At last:someone who can actual explain this method. Thank you

Alexandra, thanks for the great compliment. Good luck on your BA, nail it! The pull to improve drawing never ends, enjoy your journey.
Thank you for taking the time to teach us how to draw easier and better.
Johanna Pérez Vásquez thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to explain it
You're welcome, it is pleasure to share this process--it works. Especially good for figure drawing.
Thanks you, i had a clue and general ideas from others but this clicks so easy🙏🏼
Thanks, glad to hear it!
I would love to learn to draw a triangle like this using boxes. Do you still accept e-mails? I tried to send you my copy
