    Doing my first ever track experience with an instructor here tomorrow, my nervousness and exitment levels are off the charts.

    Great video! Just did my first ever track day there in a stock 2013 wrx. Holy crap was it fun! Wish I had watched this first and can't wait to see how my times improve!

    Great video (the entire series actually).
    One thing I'd like to add is that turn 10 has a very unforgiving run off that gets significantly worse after a rainfall runoff. This is the one place where you REALLY don't want to exit wide.
    Keep up the great videos.

    I cannot wait to get my Evo 3 on this track! I bought it SPECIFICALLY for high plains, since it's less than an hr away from me

    Turn one is fast, but have observed a lot of people do all four wheels leave and meet the runoff. Always a great day at this nowhere track!

    Using this to prepare for a day this summer.
    Overall a great series, agree with your assessments of fun which is all about elevation and corners that flow together.
    Would love to see you review more out west here like the Willow Springs courses and the Nor Cal tracks of Laguna, Sonoma, Thunderhill.

    Agree, its worth the 2 hour drive to do track days on. Lots of fun, although I havent driven on it when its wet. My ‘track day tires’ havent done well on wet tracks in the past. Thanks for this video, its a great review before getting back to the track again after over a year.

    10 and 3 were the only corners I got perfectly on my first weekend at HPR. Had lots of trouble on 2, 8, and 11.

    Look up "Scrappy's Last Ride", local dude out here got the rear out on his AW11 MR2, went off the track on the right, dug in, and rolled. I'd say that's definitely the riskiest corner on the track.

    I've never been on a track. I recently bought a 2020 mustang pp1. I live in ND so there's nothing around me. There is a track in Minnesota tho. So can anybody just show up and run these tracks? Like how does all this work?

    Seems like a short lap, can't really uncork the car on those fast sweepers. Maybe it'll grow on me. Ozark International is my obsession these days.

    T10 isn't off camber at all - it's pretty flat, but if you really dive down to the apex properly (which you did in your lap), it's actually got some favorable camber, which is part of why it's such a fast corner.

      @americanAlienBoy 3 года назад +1

      This. But you have to be right up against the curbing at the apex. Even 1 foot off there's a big drop in the camber.
      Lower power cars may want to carry a little more speed into 11 and make more of an arc, instead of trying to hug the inside. You'll be driving a longer distance, but you won't feel the frustration of crawling up the hill.
