Blitz always thought that stolas with with him because he had a fetish for getting railed by the lower class, and Stolas never made it clear that he had feelings for him beyond that. We the audience know because we've seen stolas's childhood from his perspective and heard his songs as well as scenes where he's alone, but Blitzs was never present for those. Striker and other characters have made it clear that imps are thought of poorly by royalty and blitz has a lot of self worth issues likely stemming from guilt for all the things he's done, fear of abandonment, and lack of any healthy romantic relationships. Imagine being what is essentially a peasant, constantly told by others how shitty of a person you are, and then a celebrity/king (or any person in a high position of power) only ever talks to you for hookups, then suddenly one day tells you they like you romantically. You would think "what makes me so special." Not to mention, this whole time Blitz has been obligated to have sex with this dude in order to keep his job, which can be seen as rape. Stolas told blitz hed let him use the book if he had sex with him, so from blitzs perspective its "If I want to continue making money from what I'm good at I HAVE to sleep with this person" Just imagine having to sleep with someone you would not be sleeping with otherwise to keep your job. There was a power imbalance in their relationship, even stolas knew how fucked up it was which is why he said hed "Set blitz free" Yes, there's probably a part in stolas mind that considered maybe blitz was choosing to stay with him, but if you have even an inkling that someone is sleeping with you because they feel forced you should talk to them about it. Neither of them were really in the right. If you have money and resources that you can spare, and you chose to make an offer to share with someone who is desperate in exchange for sex, it is fucked up. It doesn't matter if you love the person or not, this is not me trying to attack stolas, but I feel like the power imbalance and sexually abusive aspect of their "relationship" isn't pointed out enough. Stolas is ROYALTY, blitz is the lowest form of being in their heiriarchy. Im not saying upper and lower class cant be together, but adding stuff like doing sexual favors TO DO YOUR JOB is fucked, and the person with less power is almost always going to be a victim in that scenario.
Blitzø thinking it's a joke/roleplay because he thought no-one could ever love him.
this made me so sad. he genuinely cannot accept or believe that anyone could ever care about him because of how much he hates himself.
Also let's not forget that Stolas treated him like a little play thing for a long time too, so can we blame Blitzø for thinking it's just that? Ofcourse the self-hatred plays a part too

The rage of Blitzø and the sadness of Stolas... Brandon and Bryce did an amazing work here. The last 8 minutes of this episode were a masterpiece. The absolute culmination of Blitzø and Stolas' entire relationship. Brutal. Man, Stolas being Self Depricating, and Blitz being Self Destructive sure is something.

Blitzø definitely has feelings for him, but he is filled with so much self-hatred for his past mistakes and ongoing ones that he just cannot fathom someone like Stolas genuinely loving him. The miscommunication is so painful with them ☹️

Only a Helluva Boss episode could start out with an amazingly fun musical number, give us a bunch of whacky bullshit Zim-like shenanigans, and then punch us directly in the gut emotionally by the end. Blitzø and Stolas's argument broke my heart. I broke down crying when Stolas said "I think so highly of you... I didn't realize you thought so low of me." Fuck who ever wrote this line bruh. I'm still crying.

The book was Blitzø's excuse to see Stolas. Once the book was off the table, he didn't know what to do. He became frustrated and confused. Wouldn't leaving be easy if you didn't care? But, he does care. He just can't admit that someone actually loves him.
I will never forgive Vivian for messing with my emotions so much. At least there is less than 31 days until the next episodes.
"You can't just dismiss me like that" and "Well I'm not letting you bitch let's fucking go" are two very telling lines. We already know that he has these insecurities about their differences, but there is also the fact that he was given no real time to think about the situation and Stolas told him he could leave. His saying that he isn't letting him dismiss him means he isn't leaving; his saying let's go means he somehow wanted to address it. If he wanted to have left he wouldn't have followed him in the first place.
They need to talk to Asmodeus and Fizzarolli, to be honest, they are going through this right now and I think they both could use that insight with a mixture of therapy.
Next episode is in June so let's see how this goes.
Personally I feel like blitz's feelings are valid. Yes stolas has shown his feelings to us as the audience but not blitz. That's why he's so surprised when stolas just suddenly tells blitz he cares about him. To blitz it seems out of nowhere especially when we see all of their interactions together, it WAS just about sex at first.

I think both of them are valid but also a bit in the wrong, in a way
Well, between Stolas's behavior all S1E7 especially the end scene, and the fact that we've heard Blitz say that Stolas asks about his day and comments on his social media and laughs at his jokes, I think he HAS been trying for some time now to show Blitz that he genuinely cares about him and doesn't just want sex. But between the whole arrangement the relationship was established on and Blitz's own self-loathing, it makes sense for Blitz to completely miss all of those signals and not think any of it was genuine. So I wouldn't say Stolas hasn't shown his feelings to Blitz at all until now, but he hasn't done it QUITE directly enough for it to actually get through for Blitz specifically until now.
@@twigthetroll9279we also see him hide his face in shame when it was brought up in public that he was sleeping with an imp and was cheating on his wife on that exact same night.
Especially after getting ripped apart by his ex best friend and ex gf, that’s all that matter to Blitz that night and what he thinks Stolas thinks of him. It doesn’t matter that Stolas was asking about his day or for non sexual interactions with him, in Blitz’s eyes Stolas hiding his face said more than anything else he could say for the rest of the night.
He genuinely didn’t think that Stolas wanted him for anything more than sex, and while we know that’s not true, he had plenty of reason to believe it was

Ever since the start stolas has been all about sex and stuff, twisting the way Blitz views their relationship making him think its about no more than unemotional sex, so i deff see why Blitz be acting like he did and think what he thinks
That's something that I think I lot of people don't think about or dismiss. I see a lot of people hating Blitz for his actions and saying he's stupid and taking Stolas' side, often not thinking about why Blitz is how he is. I not saying Blitz is a good person, but he's not unsympathetic like a lot of people act. He has clear abandonment issues. But just looking at his relationship with Stolas it was very early on made about sex and Stolas very much did act like he was fetishizing Blitz. Blitz clung to the relationship being just sex because that's physical and feelings don't have to be involved, so it's safe. I think it's unfair how many people point to Blitz being the only problem in the relationship, Stolas contributed as well and realistically like in most all other relationships it was miscommunication that was the enemy.

Blitz is so self destructive. Stolas is so self depreciating. They need more than just couple counseling they need therapy
They need to stop and think of getting the help that they need “separately.” Also they should’ve been like “ hey there’re some errors here, we’re gonna have to step back, can tell we got a very long way to go before we can think of me and you.”
I'm pretty sure the only reason they can go around hell like that is because of everybody knowing that Fizz has cybernetic appendages so seeing another demon like that wouldn't be too crazy for them especially in the lust wing
Not to mention the Robo Fizz's, and Loopty and Lyle. I don't think being a lil robotic is all THAT rare in hell.

It was nice to see the Cherubs return after all this time, And to see them team up with those two Dhork agents was very interesting! And I loved the badass fight scene between the Cherubs and the IMP employees!
As for Blitz and Stolas's interaction in this episode, All I'll say is that is went about as well as we all expected. Though I will say that with a cliffhanger of an ending like that the episode should've a few minutes longer since now there's gonna be so much to resolve throughout the rest of the season.
It was cool, see the Dhorks and Cherubs' again, and I'm glad they had a fair fight and injured imp a little

But you right, Scoot. Blitz couldn't understand someone so high and powerful loving someone "like him", and so he rationalized it by sex, control. Each shock that's led to that final scene was breaking that image of Stolas in his mind.
Stolas was embarrassed. He is a victim of mockery as well.
Stolas got hurt, he's NOT an immortal and all powerful god-like being.
Stolas cried. He DID mean what he said.
Blitz played it off, but he was expecting to be thrown away at any moment. He pushed away for fear of facing that imaginary rejection. He did what he thought brought his acceptance, he pleasured the bird. And when not only was that fear of rejection shoved away, but total acceptance and desire was found, he couldn't understand it. It made more *sense* for it to be sexual. A roleplay, sure. The tears melted the illusion of ice that Blitz built to protect himself. But it was too late.
I think Vivzie and team have done an amazing job, and it's wild how well you can portray some unhealthy real-world relationship dynamics when you build a world of pure evil around it.

It was a busy episode with the return of the cherubs and agents but I thought it all worked out for the most part. Was really sad for Stolas I was like damn he’s trying to set things right and Blitz doing Blitz not realizing the new route Stolas wants to take their relationship. Then to just see Stolas cry after hearing what Blitz has to say to him did hurt me a little. The opening song with stolas was pretty good I think his va got more vocal training or maybe he didn’t cause I was like ooo this sounds really professional.
Agreed on the business, I think watching it a second time and seeing someone else watch it for the first time helped me settle on 'not as poorly paced as I thought before'. I like it more than I did when I first watched it, and can better articulate the issues I DO have with it
Yeah I agree, so much miscommunication even if Stolas told him pretty straight with no teasing and not using Blitzy. Blitz does have feelings but he doesn't think he deserves it and people actually loves him

Look, I think Blitz does love Stolas and I 100% agree that he fumbled here, but he's justified in his anger. Many of the interactions we've seen him have *WITH* Stolas didn't have Stolas directly tell or imply he has more than sexual surface level care for him. We know the truth as an audience, but how could Blitz know? He wasn't there for the soliloquies. Stolas never explicitly explained why Blitz didn't have to go their monthly meetings. Not even in text. He didn't see how Stolas was actually eager to spend time with him like we did. Blitz probably figured the best he could ever get of their relationship was sex and while I wouldn't say he made his peace with that, he certainly accepted it as fact.
And let's face it, Stolas has belittled him, and, even if it was genuine passion, he didn't always respect Blitz as an equal, or at the least, he didn't show Blitz that he did. He sort of treated him a bit like a rebellious 'getting with the help' scapegoat, and he kind of treats Blitz as a bit of a model minority. It's not like he treats the imps who serve him much different after Blitz. He still overlooks them. Even in this episode. Imagine the conflict Blitz would feel having his own kind serve him if he accepted Stolas' confession. You can see how often in season 1 he uses baby talk and consistently refers to him as his 'darling Blitzy' despite how much Blitz says he hates it. Stolas even referred to him as his "impish little plaything" when saving him from the D.H.O.R.K.S. And when confronted about their relationship at a time where it really could've mattered at Ozzie's, Stolas didn't stand by Blitz. He disassociated with him, which, yeah, it's understandable when you're being shamed and put on the spot, but it definitely confirmed Blitz' doubts of Stolas actually wanting to be associated with him, let alone love him. That was probably more than enough evidence for him to decide that their relationship would never amount to anything real. Since Stolas was never direct before, why would Blitz have reason to think otherwise? Stolas dropped his feelings pretty suddenly. He didn't even ask or text Blitz about the crystal before their meeting. You can't just give someone an ultimatum like that when they weren't even sure of what you were feeling to begin with.

Even after everything hes done, blitzes response to stolas is valid. From his POV, this whole transaction has always just been that. Stoles never before outright said what he felt as well so for blitz, it seems like this is coming out of nowhere. Especially due to his backstory, blitz never got to experience the feelings of someone truly caring about him and when it did happen, he pushed them away because of the pain he's felt before.

Fuck. Of all the scenarios that raced across his head he hadn't thought of this one and it hurt the most. He glances around his dark empty house. Today was pretty bad. A dark pit builds inside of him, one of self-loathing and deep sadness. These feelings were not unfamiliar. Maybe if he had gotten his medication this morning, perhaps it would hurt less, or perhaps that's just wishful thinking. Memories crash into him, Blitzø faking a roleplay scenario in which he actually gave two fucks about him. It was like a drill into his heart in which he'd laid bare before him. How did this even happen? He'd rehearsed the lines time over time in his head and a loud, of what he'd say, of how he would do this. Gifting the Asmodean Crystal and freeing Blitzø from any obligation to ever see him again while also declaring that he cares about Blitzø so very much and wants it to be his choice whether he stayed or went away with the crystal. In all his memories he looks back, he reflects. From the start it was Blitzø who began the sexual part of their relationship. After 25 years
25 years and he came back. Not for him, but for the book. The day he received that book from his father he was given a task and had studied it tirelessly. It had countless memories of him showing young Via the countless galaxies and endless expanse of space in which she was in awe. Of course if he didn't care for Blitzø he could have gotten the book back easily. He was a Prince of Hell. But, seeing as though that and sleeping with him was the only thing he had done after breaking into his home he'd thought, perhaps he’d form a genuine connection, a friend, out of this. Maybe if he kept him around long enough whilst doing the things Blitzø seems to enjoy and lending him the book, he could try to form a relationship. This idea took over him, a chance to turn things around, to try to be happy. A spark, a thrill, a change. He so badly needed a change. So he started off with small things, paying Blitzø to kill people, something he rather enjoyed, both money and blood, as a bodyguard for Loo Loo Land. His daughter was pretty upset with him so maybe he could make her happy and also hang out with Blitz. She… wasn't all that into Loo Loo Land anymore, she tells him that home didn't feel like home anymore, that he ruined it. He'd tried to explain but he didn't want to villainize her mother nor put a burden on her shoulders and so they talked. Of course he would never leave her, she was pretty much all he had right then. After that chaotic amusement park trip he tries again, this time he doesn't have Via as she was unavailable. He invites Blitz with his friends and daughter to the Harvest Moon Festival. Zero required work, just a fun time while he uses the book. As per usual he initiates the Pain Games and openly expresses affection for Blitzø who generally seems rather pissed but that's just the way he is today. When he gets home afterwards he simply reads and eats dinner. Stella seems pissed. Honestly what is new. At least Via seemed to be enjoying herself. Later on Blitz gets caught by humans. He was so terribly worried about him and his group that he immediately dropped everything to perform a non-lethal possession and rescue them. Blitz, again, seemed rather irritated when he brought up being careful and not getting in trouble with the higher ups. Of all things Stolas was quite responsible when it came to his work, after all, he'd been training for decades. Plus if he got in trouble due to Blitz being reckless it could mean very bad things for the both of them, he was an Ars Goetia, it would certainly not be good, to say the least. This is something I wrote after watching full moon because I was pissed. I don't usually write but this is what I picked up on from Stolas's pov in the first 6 episodes. Then we all know about Ozzies and s2 stuff.
I have been dreading the several rewatches I will be doing of this episode because I feel so angry with Blitzø. I'm hoping seeing people's different perspectives of what Blitz is feeling will hopefully help me cope. I hope Verosika Pride Tour / The Apology Tour episode next month features Blitz feeling guilty as hell. Stolas faced him without his antidepressants and in the bath he said "to quell the voices in my head that say I'm not enough". With all the crap he's been through none of it was really at all his fault. Blitz actually blew Fizz up, by accident or not, and he killed his mom, stalks his employees, murders people for a living, and sleeps with people to steal their stuff (Chaz, Verosika, Stolas)
So I'd say he has plenty to dislike himself for, especially since instead of apologizing to Verosika for what he did, when we see her in spring broken it's just back to back insults. Like GEEZ Blitzø. I love the character, honestly, but I pray to all hell that he freaking gives a damn good apology.
Blitzo doesn't know how to deal with his romantic feelings so he represses them
stolas never showed explicitly to blitz how he really felt. So this confession is out of nowhere for blitz and it’s obvious he would be in disbelief.
I don’t think any of blitz issues play a role in this scene but it’s simply that stolas created a toxic, manipulative and transactional relationship and expected that blitz would belive him immediately the second he says “oh by the way I fell in love with you”.
The second blitz calls him out for his bullshit people deviate the blame on his abandonment issues rather than on stolas for his hypocrite behaviour and the way he keeps their interactions in a power imbalance situation both emotionally (the self pity and accusing blitz of always thinking about sex even though he is the one that always Treated him like a plaything) and physically (he uses magic at first as a way to bind him and then as a way to shun him away).

@@AbimaelLopez-hz3qq From blitz’s point of view up until now Stolas is some rich dude he met once as a kid and that now is economically blackmailing him in giving sexual favours. If you check all the episodes up until season two it’s just Stolas harassing blitz (that is clearly uncomfortable).
Then we start to see that blitz might have some feelings for stolas, but as far as he knows it’s one sided and not even he can explain to himself what it is that he’s feeling.
(Let’s not forget that when stolas “denies” their relationship at Ozzie’s Blitz kind of has the confermation that Stolas is ashamed of him)
Now, this might not be true because we see Stolas POV , but as far as we have seen this is really ALL that Blitz knows about their relationship.
So yeah my point stands.

In all seriousness, though? Blitz has very, very few people to trust, starting in the beginning with his crappy dad...But on the other hand, wealth or not, Stolas has very few people to trust either with a crap dad and ESPECIALLY with his awful wife, who literally put him into a dissociative state on the regular trying to have a child ("he just lies there looking at the wall"). They have the same echoes of each other's problems, in the end.
