Humboldt Field Trip

- Yesterday, our Humboldt penguins (Pedro, Fernando, Chirrida, Guapo, Mona and Marco) took a field trip from their outdoor habitat to inside Penguin & Puffin Coast. They got to visit the Gentoo, king and rockhopper penguins, as well as the horned and tufted puffins. There was a quick stop at the gift shop (which was closed) and the offices upstairs before they headed back to their outdoor habitat.
Love how they all knew to get on the elevator when the doors opened and get off when it opened again. As smart as they are cute!
I had the impression that it wasn't their first time in an elevator.
They're probably pretty curious too! I think they enjoy seeing what's around the next corner--like "And what's over here to check out?'' Lol.
I expect nothing less from birds who wear tuxedos all the time.

It's surreal to recognize nearly every location having just visited that zoo just 7 months ago. The penguin room was my favorite.

This whole video is just beautiful. I love the penguins' inquisitive nature and curiosity to explore. They seem to be more mentally stimulated during this lockdown than they are under typical circumstances.
