Zachary Thoroman the transformation spent more time as it took 16 years to even get a toy out of him, the 80s one was nowhere near what he was doing from planet mode to robot mode
Yeah, far more detail on him as well. BUt granted movie budget vs serial budget. Not Granted: New technology vs Old technology... so they should have some help technology wise XD. It just shows how awesome the animation of the movie was :). That and 80's lasers in animation still give an LSD light show we can all get behind XD.
This transformation was always scarier to me strictly due to the fact that for my generation, Unicron was a voiceless monster. I personally (as a kid) had no idea what he was. He never talked. He just had a vassal and an ambassador going around, doing his bidding (Thrust and Sideways). That said, to see him transform from a voiceless weapon into a giant planet-sized monster robot was freaky and had a much more bleak energy to it. G1 was scary too but Unicron had a personality and he spoke which is a huge deal in terms of atmosphere because a lot of what we see in the show have voices. It's a human trait. He thinks. Operates with a plan. This Unicron? Gives nothing away. He simply exists to destroy and doesn't speak [directly]. He's just a giant monster who arrives as a symbol of armageddon.
It's just like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy said, "Humans have a remarkable desire to point out and state the obvious. Such as... 1. He is pure evil 2. He is gigantic 3. So this is it, we are all going to die. There are several theories as to why they do this. The most common held belief is that if they stop talking their brains might start working.
The smaller moon you're referring to is Dead End, Unicron's "Minicon." That looked like it was hard to edit. But seeing it spliced together like this brings a astonishing amount of detail to my attention. It's exactly like the original unicron from the movie, If they did'nt cut away so much. Thanks for this awesome video.
I like how Ash ketchum and the boys don’t freak out seeing the giant fleet sized embodiment of evil go from planetoid to supertitan. They’re just like “dang that’s unicron” “wow really? unicron?”
Armada Unicron has a deeper background, more based on religion. 86 movie Unicron was nothing more than a science project by some intergalactic super genius
They didn't. Until Optimus contacted the UN through Alexis some 6 years later, the only people who knew about the existence of Cybertronians were the kids, Rad's parents (who didn't believe him until the mountain next to the city they were living got up and flew into space), a reporter whose evidence got slagged by Laserbeak, and a kid who was saved by Scavenger & Smokescreen.
Aside from the G1 Transformers and Beast Wars and Beast Machines and Transformers Armada the only other Transformers series where Unicron is mentioned is in Energon Cybertron and Transformers Prime and in the last Michael Bay Live Action Transformers movie.
Unicron has been dozens of different sizes throughout the franchise by this point. When in robot mode, he and his brother are supposed to be the same size.
First, because the movie had a way bigger budget. Second, this animation wasn't finished. Hasbro rushed the production of Armada, so many things were rushed and poorly animated. The Japanese version, Micron Densetsu, was aired in Japan after Armada, so the animators fixed a lot of errors and gave the show more polished animation.

And I am currently watching the complete series of energon. Soon cybertron. So go ahead and buy it. It's is no joke. I'm actually serious. It has 8 discs. All episodes. I'll be honest, I was born the same year that the original Transformers movie came out. As a result, it was a major movie I would sit down and watch as a kid. As such, I found that Unicron to be the embodiment of all that was awesome and evil at the same time. I look at this one and I just... find myself perplexed. It lacks any real detail, has a very lopsided appearance, and somehow lacks the imposing "Oh shit" air it originally carried. I find myself unimpressed.

This Armada/Energon Unicron would make G1 Unicron, despite being scarier and more intimidating, a complete weakling. Unicron in Transformers: The Movie was ultimately destroyed by the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. If the Autobot Matrix of Leadership was used on Armada/Energon Unicron, it would cause the equivalent of a TEENY, TINY scratch, which this Unicron would regenerate in less than 2 seconds.

The Unicron trilogy has the most show accurate toys ever
Well... With FEW expections that weren't too great... Scavanger and Sideswipe.
I'm actually going to give that to Animated. Their toys are pretty show accurate, even with the stylized cartoon models
Cuz they designed the toys first
@@kinzdarell5447 yeah i know it. Just like beast wars

Gotta give props to the animators. This transformation is right up there with Unicron's original one from the movie.
I am not going to lie; this Unicron is more evil than g1
The transformation itself is gorgeous but Armada has very cheap looking animation outside of great moments like this.
Goes from actually good animation to generic anime kids from Gundam.
