As a NZer I felt for our S.A brothers that night - respecting them and knowing how proud they are - but they have bounced back and are now at the top of the pile - NZ and Boks❤️
Why? Almost to a man they were in the media leading up to the game "we're gonna smash them, they're weak, we've got this" so they needn't this humbling. (Just like AB fans like me need it from time-to-time as well!)
It was all Springboks for the first 15 minutes or so. Looked really bad for us....then....Arron Smith to Reiko Ioane - quick tap penalty - it all changed!
Probably the lowest point in Springbok history.... but as always, they bounce back. That's why they are AB's (and most Kiwi's) favorite opposition team, we know we'll get our money's worth!
For sure! @SquidgeRugby does a great video of how this wass the catalyst (sort of), or at least the starting point for Rassie. Even though he wasn't the coach in this game. ruclips.net/video/DDrUMVI7oQM/видео.html&ab_channel=SquidgeRugby
Wasn't that 57-0 game in Sep 2017? That's now almost 8 years ago. Time's have changed. And with the SA franchises leaving Super Rugby, All Black rugby no longer has the much needed preparation for their test matches that they had when SA teams faced NZ franchises on a regular basis. Even the Aussie's have diminished as well for exactly the same reason. Contrast that with the massive improvement in both the Irish & Scottish national teams in recent years. With the key difference being that they now regularly face SA franchise competition via the URC. The massive improvement in the Scots & the Irish Vs the drop in standard by the AB's and the Wallabies due to SA moving to the North, cannot be ignored anymore. Whether you're a one-eyed AB or Wallaby fan, even you can't deny that the results speak for themselves. So the AB's will always be competing in the top 3, but without the option of facing SA teams regularly on a franchise level, it's highly unlikely that they will rise to their 2013-2015 level ever again.
One of the best game ever for the all blacks try after try everything was working boks played their best but it was a game for the all blacks it was their day

Springboks are the best in the world, been a some great games between the ABs and the Boks of late but I don’t see the boks beating the All Blacks by this margin in my lifetime
@lesmondk3376 Agreed - I'd similarly never want to see the ABs humiliated and trashed by the entire rugby world. It certainly set a fire under SA though and if it ever happened to NZ the comeback would likely be similarly epic.
The ABs won their second World Cup entirely because of a referee. SA won their most recent Webb Ellis not because of the TMO, but because they didn,'t, unlike NZ, choke.
@davesmith826 Not because of the TMO huh? “The ruling out of Aaron Smith’s try in the final was, in fact, outside the rules.” You mean the TMO who pulled the game back many phases to overrule the winning try? The TMO also reviewed the red card, so the 15v14 win was in fact ENTIRELY dependent on the TMO.
@justinbieber3697 If Cane has stayed on the field and NZ had continued to play that sclerotic, passionless rugby it's arguable the winning margin would have been greater because NZ actually came to life with that sending off. There was nothing wrong with his sending off anyway - the rules had been in place for years and there was no excuse for going in high without even attempting to lower himself - it was stupid, ignorant play and he was punished for it. And no, before you try it, Kolisi's tackle wasn't exactly the same.
@ The winning try? 😅The ABs scored a try straight after the first one was disallowed. If the first one stood, the second one does not occur because the the game resets with a kick and not a restart on the edge of SA's 22. You may not understand the rules of rugby but I do. Case in point: the red card was the right call. Its a yellow if the tackle is grounded, which is why Kolisi got binned and not sent off, but a red without grounding, which is why Cane and several other ABs in the games leading up to the World Cup got sent off. Your indiscipline cost you as much as your lack of composure in the crunch moments. Be a man. Deal with it.
The French ABs at the,015 RWC was another time the team clicked like this, Sadly,ABs gone backwards after Hansen left,Razor should have been brought in when Fozzy took over, for the, continuity of the team, but the ABs board was hopeless
To be fair to Foster, it’s not on him to coach those players not to miss routines kicks, to coach the TMO/ref to respect the rules (disallowed try), or prevent a misfortunate red card. If any one of those didn’t happen, he’d be a World Cup winning coach and be seen differently. Credit would probably better belong to his support cast and the players, but it’s interesting to think about how his perception could easily be a 180 from what it is/was.
The last game was 16 vs 14! Personally I don't think anything in that game warranted a red or a yellow... the ABs vs SA is always going to be the hardest, toughest game either side will face. The rules have changed to help the northern hemisphere teams which only ruins the rivalry between the best two teams in the world. Congrats to SA, but don't think just because SA has more RWC titles now, the ABs won't respond... looking forward to the next World Cup... as long as it's not a northern hemisphere team 😉
@@WKSchwenke True. Bokke played with 14 and still won. When The All Blacks illegally injured Bongi in the first 2 min by falling on his leg, I knew they had the ref in their pocket. He should have been sent off with a red.
