This is my favourite ravelry roulette episode. The bonus rule breaking round and how it descends into chaos when you find the winter fox mittens was hilarious! But you really did hit the jackpot when you found that website. I could’ve watched you scroll through those patterns and react to them all day! Hope the heatwave cools down soon!

OMG! Kulabra design is AMAZING!!! I've just lost over an hour down that rabbit hole. Her cat designs are lovely, the owl mittens to die for and her popping dot socks have got me so excited.
Guess I've got a new designer to follow. Thanks for the video Taylor, I love all your videos but I really love Ravelry Roulette. Always something unexpected. ❤️

Natalia was pushed off Ravelry by Ravelry because she is Russian. This happened when Putin invaded Ukraine and Ravelry shut designer accounts for those who lived in Russia in a protest. Pretty sure she was a full time designer so she had to move to a website in order to continue her business. I have knit her Grumpy Cat mittens and they are a favourite with my son. She is in the process of getting some of her patterns listed back on Ravelry, but I'm not sure whether or not she's able/planning to return to selling via that platform. She has a great newsletter that comes out occasionally, often with a discount for new patterns and sometimes sells her samples as well. It's well worth signing up for if you are a fan of colourwork. I don't know her personally, but have been following her work for a long time.

One suggestion (and excuse me if someone else already has said this): when you run your randomizer, if you choose between 0 and the number AFTER the highest number, number 1 and the largest number will have a fighting chance to be included in the results! annds on Ravelry.

Once I've made wall hanger with one of my favourite bands, and now I regert that didn't choose a socks for that, it would be way more cooler when both singer 'dancing' around. Also the Knitty Natty's yarn cozies makes the maintaining of the yarn easy peasy.

I don’t think so. English isn’t her first language so I think the description on the pattern page isn’t translated quite right. It sounds like it’s toe up and you knit the cat face first from a chart, then you can knit the leg following the chart for that or, if you want, you could knit it plain, striped or use a self striping yarn.

I really love this series because we get a bunch of random patterns to see. I've casted on my first pair of striped socks which is somewhat new but the color changes aren't since I often use a contrasting color for the heel/toe, although very hesitant to try colorwork since I've never done so before for any project. I'm working on only my 2nd pair of socks worked with heavier dk & worsted weight yarn. It's amazing how quickly these socks are working up as I just finished the heel & 1/3 of the foot for sock 2 (catching up to how far I've gotten with sock 1). I've learned that I knit socks way better when knitting socks TAAT. Spending the most of what I have to knit while I can before starting my new job.

The pattern had me use duplicate stitch to fill in the colors on the eyes and nose. I loved how it came out. I really do not need another project but seeing what you found through Ravelry Roulette has me saving patterns for sale. I found the Sinister Cat Sock by Marna Gillian. Now I just need time! Thanks for another fun podcast! 😎

Sounds like you're on time to me 😊
I'm working on my Skull Sweater( Lion Brand). I wish it were in the round ..but it's my first color-work sweater.
Any technique recommendations? I've got quite a few tutorials and my technique is ok..but any other tips would be appreciated.

Winter in Australia is currently 18 degrees or 65 Fahrenheit. Which is on the warmer side of Winter but I’m still cold. This video has me wanting to try colour work. Thanks Taylor for making these videos.

The first mittens (N:O 99) you pulled up under 'not discontinued' was published in a book. I'm all for rabbit holes! Those olws!

The word “colorwork” just makes me go into a cold sweat 😂. Those owl mittens?!?!? I will NEVER knit to that level….but I’m okay with that! Signed, Another Sloth Knitter

Taylor thanks for the translation info. I have been struggling with a Norwegian designer to send me the English translation of the pattern that I made the mistake of purchasing in the wrong language. 😅😅 you now give me hope

Right above the tabs is Language: Norwegian for the lovely pair of socks. This also helps me eliminate patterns I don't want to have to work for

My sister is learning to knit and couldn't figure out what she wanted to try as a pattern. I texted her "RAVELRY ROULETTE!" She texted back "wtf?" and so I got her to play 😆

I love the looks of color work socks but don't the floats prevent the stretch needed in most socks? I have always used a ribbed pattern to allow stretch and prevent the socks from falling when worn.
