In the manga you find out that Ikuto is only 14 not seventeen, he's a senior in MIDDLE SCHOOL, not high school. The translation was screwed up. Dakara (Therefore), there is only a three year difference between Amu and Ikuto. Don't believe me, look it up.
I wish that Amu and Ikuto teamed up and went to different countries to recruit a few members instead of Amu teaming with guardians and Easter controling the Tsukiyomis
I suppose.. I guess it depends on the translation of the mangas that people have. Some are translated in the way everyone thinks. I have the original one. .___. Unless my Japanese one is all a lie as well. xD

The little kanji i recognised is that there's the word for 17, spring, and third-year high school. i'm not sure myself but is it safe to assume that it actually said that 'In spring, Amu will be a 1st-year middle schooler while Ikuto will be a 3rd-year in high school?' again, i'm sorry for being a bother

I talked to someone who believed that he was 15 when the anime started cause in chapter 28 (When he says he's a senior in highschool) like 2 years have passed... Everything I indeed knew was a lie...
