Absolutely true, I misspoke there! ECL would be ludicrously broken if you could use it once per turn -- it's a bomb even at once per game! That's an important thing to point out, I'll pin this comment.
Good playing with you in Draft on Friday. What I learned from this video that helped me go 2-1 on Friday in my 1st SWU draft ( and win my 1st SWU game ever), was to take units with Ambush. Rogue Squadron Skirmisher and Snow speeder did some work and helped me flip games. I didn't realize I got that from this video when we talked Friday. Thanks for the good tips and hope to play in many more events with you.
I think all the rare bases are pretty good in draft, and regarding ECL: I had a draft deck with it and still lost against a Sabine, because she just played space units and I didn’t draw any space units to use with ECL, so for it to be really good, you also need a balance of units for both areas.
Thank you! This is exactly the kind of content that I was looking for, heading into pre-release weekend. I hope to see something like a “Decks to Try on Day One” kind of video next week. Also, I have a question for you. When building a Limited deck for SWU, is there a Golden Formula that you might use as a guide for how many cards to add for each drop, and also the ratio of units to events or other cards in the deck?
Thanks, happy to hear it was helpful! In terms of ratios, typically players aim for ~30-40 units and ~10-20 non-units in a 50 card deck, with ~12 of those units being playable on turn 1 (so 1/2 cost units that work "on their own", not things like Snowtrooper Lieutenant). If you want to maintain similar ratios for a 30 card deck, you should look to have ~18-24 units and 6-12 non-units, with ~6-8 of your units playable on turn 1.
I think AT-ST, Fett's Firespray, Guerilla Attack Pod, Reinforment Walker should be consider bomb. And only Firespray from this list is R. Maybe Ghost in case you have enought specters.
also when your deck is 30 cards going to 10 resources seems like not a great game plan unless you drafted a lot of ramp cards. because that is 22 cards seen of your 30 card deck by then if you aren't hitting resupply and super laser tech in a lot of turns.
I don't know how do you suppose to get 3 legendaries for a constructed deck with less than 1% pullrate (i did the math myself so probably not the most accurate)? Ik buying singles is the way to go but when people need three copies of a card that is already so rare, why would they sell it? I literally ordered 6 boxes and im still worried because of all of the draws i even saw online i couldn't build a fully optimal deck. No way that after buying 6 boxes i should still be worried about not having enough of the cards i need.
It depends on what deck you're building. For example, a Command Sabine deck can be competitive with zero legendary cards in the build, all rare cards or below. Other decks might have a harder time finding cards, but generally my experience in other games has been that the single card market can provide sufficient volume (sometimes with cards getting a bit expensive though). One factor that you might not be considering is that single cards are often sold by stores that open boxes just to sell them -- they don't really care about hanging on to cards for their own collection, so anything they pull will end up being sold to others.
@@TowerNumberNine i live in a very small country, i work at the biggest gameshop in this country (probably the only one), our sister location has some pokemon and mtg singles, but that is it sadly. Im spending every second of my free time trying to expand the community here (we got to a total of 8 pre-registered players for the pre-release which is huge for set 1) I guess i just didn't understand what is different outside me small country. I can already imagine myself begging for a copy of count dooku and luke jedi knight... (Im building an iden red first and foremost like you tought me)
@@maordahan2257 Ah yeah, I meant online sales. I'm not sure whether it will be easy to get cards shipped to your country but I think there will be a lot of single cards available online. Luckily Dooku is only rare and not legendary so shouldn't be all that hard to find...
I think it is kind of a joke to be talking about draft and sealed. Most of the stores I've been to are selling their boxes of allocated product for $250 and I haven’t see a true draft and sealed event since a week or two after the set came out. Meanwhile, some stores are selling 30 takedown on tcgplayer or lots of 6 booster boxes. It's kind of a racket.
This video was recorded in late February, before the game even launched and before the current shortages! My area still has some drafts but I agree this is less available than I’d like these days…
Energy conversion lab's ability is once per game not once per turn

@@TowerNumberNine started having me think that I'll be running green forever if that card was once a round haha
I'd love a primer that goes over the top common and uncommon cards.

I’ve played a lot of sealed online and Overwhelming Barrage is the best card in limited.
Barrage is very, very strong for sure!

Fett's Firespray is a good one to mention, it is a bomb if you are playing Boba as your leader and otherwise a solid but not insane card.
Use the absolute Bangers in sealed and draft...got it..

Aren't epic actions all once per game?
Does adding a -6 -6 on a card with 6 or less healthy kill it?
Yes.
