I had an alternative lore idea: what if this creature was created by Fabius Bile as a sort of Frankenstein's monster. That fella is always trying to make some weird stuff, why not a literal massive bat vampire with Night Lords geneseed? 😄 Maybe this also works well with the idea that a Night Lord would be against a possession, but Bile isn't one to ask.
I'm thinking... This guy fell in battle, his pelvis and legs blown apart, and struck a deal with one of the never-born. But he had sort of planned on this and flexed his warp presence to attract only a small weak daemon he could overpower with psychic discipline. Now lost in the warp, he's healed his half-daemonic form back to vicious efficiency as he seeks a way to return to the materium.
That's a fantastic idea. Definitely matches the theme I was going for. I really like the idea of chaos having a chance for coming back from fatal wounds by making these kinds of deals.
I love both the Night Lords and the Flesheater Courts. So seeing the two married in perfect (dis)harmony was a treat. So cool. Maybe you could grab some Crypt Ghoul models, and use them as a base for some slaves that maintain the possessed marine's equipment. They're not even possessed themselves, they're just bent over, pale, and mutated from generations living in the hold of a ship. Cowering and genuflecting around their fiend-ridden master. (Would make for decent cultists, or maybe Accursed Cultists).
He's definietly one of Gendor Skraivok Warband, most of NL don't use gifts of chaos because they see it as weakness but Skraivok do use them, because he's a coward and clown. But it's still very nice kitbash and i love how it turned out
My night lords lore knowledge is very thin😅, I do know they are also quite chaos resistant on top of things. I do like the suggestion, I wasn't sure if any night lords were a good fit for something a kin to this. I appreciate the kinds words too, cheers mate!
It depends a lot on the warband and the individual. The Night Lords trilogy depicted a warband that mixed members who embraced Chaos and members who abstained and/or abhorred it. Even within the same squads, you had Night Lords looking down on squad-mates who seemed to be losing themselves to the Ruinous Powers.
@@Bluecho4 that's why i said most, some of course use chaos, just like iron Warriors but majority don't use it at all. After Konrads Death and Jagos Disappearance Legion basically shattered and some warbands became very desperate and they joined Ruinous Powers such as Raptorous Flayers(i know jest fucking name) who serves both Slaanesh and Tzeentch but most stayed as those "Fuck Chaos, Fuck Imperium" Renegades, best example is First Claw.
Awesome kitbash. I actually picked up a box of these guys to turn them into a failed Ad Mech genetic experiment (aka counts-as-Bulgryn) to unleash on the foe alongside my Abhuman Guard regiment!
Thank you! That's an amazing idea, the size works really well for ogryns. That whole army project sounds fantastic, make sure to add some of those ratling snipers AKA Sniper Hobbits of 40k 😄
Had to look him up, but wow, it is indeed very close. If I had stopped with the pure blue skin idea, it would have been even closer, almost borderline. It seems he might have been the inspiration behind the Night Lords' color scheme. Always amazing to learn something like that.
I love this idea, mainly because I am working on a thing for my 40k AU where instead of Mortarion becoming Nurgle's Primarch, it was Curze, as Nurgle was looking for a replacement Primarch after Mortarion got lost to the warp for several millenia, settling for Curze since he was in a very despairing mood and was looking for the sweet embrace of death. Which fits Nurgle very well so he basically turned Curze into a Nurgle Vampire, and these NL Possessed could work as Vampiric Possessed Nurgle Night Lords. I might make them more armored though.
Great job, not only a nice conversion, but also I appreciate that you showed your mistake. I wish miniature painting content on youtube showe more mistakes like that. That is how it is to everyone in this hobby, and a big mistake like breaking a miniature few steps before the end, and having to glue it back and fixing chipped pain layers, or mixing somethign wrong and destroying your previous work can be sooooooo frustrating and many times we do not know how to approach it because most of Miniature making content is just perfect step by step stories of pure success.
Thank you! Yeah, especially when I was new to the hobby, I just assumed everyone painted perfect miniatures right off the bat. Then I slowly realized that the mistakes are just part of the process and nothing to be worried about.
Looks awesome dude, great work as always 😁❤️👍🏻 If I could change one thing, it would be the legs, maybe add more armour or cut him at the waist and put on some terminator legs or something. I think this would really help sell the fact this was once a marine. But honestly that’s just me nitpicking, like I said, he looks awesome already.
Thank you mate! Honestly all great suggestions, I actually wanted to add some armor to the legs but didn't have any spare bits that would have worked. I also considered adding some bits to the waist but realized I would have had floating parts without any armor to ground them visually. 😄
I'm not familiar with them, but they do sound awesome. I'll look Into them for sure, and see if I can make them for a future kitbash. Thank you for a cool idea!

I didn't use gold in that scheme, it was Metal Color Exhaust Manifold, it has a slight yellow hue to it. A good Gold that I personally use is Metal Color Gold + Green Stuff World Antique Gold Pigment.

Imagine getting overpowered by a dude who is missing his lower half💀
Don't mess with a space marine. Whole or half. 😄
@@ThespianDevilI think a space marine could probably overpower a blue horror even cut in half

I think that this is a perfect Possessed or Spawn idea for any Night Lords army.

Interesting, seems they are desperate enough to accept anyone as allies. Which makes sense given their renegade status.@@Bluecho4

This guys looks freaking amazing. I was just thinking the other day about how old Vampire Counts stuff could be integrated into 40k kitbashes.
Thank you so much! Yeah I think there's a lot of potential there for a bunch of cool stuff. Including making thematic cultists and demons.

Digging the eyes, that little dot of white makes them super piercing and sinister 👌
Cheers! Yeah, the white dot really helps make the eyes pop on every model, but it's always a bit of a challenge to nail it every time.
I really dig this, might have to make a few of these. Ave Dominus Nox

This is bad ass. What metallic did you use? It has a warm tone and looks awesome!

I can see myself doing this to make much more terrifying Wulfen.
