Only discovered these ladies about two weeks ago but I'm already hooked. They are all amazing musicians and work together so well. Love them all, but Rina, well, there's something about her movement, graceful, stylish and elegant that gets me everytime. She's lovely and a fantastic bass player.
Great music and arrangement - great performance from all in the band - Tokyo Groove Jyoshi are one of the best things I stumbled over by accident - and bringing on guests like the talented Harumo Imai on sax and Toshitaka Shibata with his wonderful composition is really cool - At first, I missed Juna's funky bass but Rina's style is very smooth and groovy and perhaps a better match for the band. I would never have guessed that I would listen to funk and groove from Japan with such delight - what a pleasant surprise! Looking forward to seeing what more is coming from these very talented young people. ❤️
Harumo really reminds me of the sax player on the old Saturday night live.. back when it was good. Mimi, tightest drummer on the planet! Ami, magic fingers on keyboard, Rina another cool as shit bass player. IN KIMONOS!!! I love it! All beautiful, gorgeous, talented young ladies. I'm hooked I can't stop watching!!

I'm a wild fan about a certain sax player, but the great thing about this ensemble is that trying to find a favorite is just fruitless as the talent and attraction to them all is so perfectly placed. I listened to and went to a LOT of jazz similar this in the distant past, and the memories come flooding in. But these ladies add this amazing twist. I cannot tell you how satisfying Rina's line is here. Simple but flawless and expertly arranged. If you aren't a fan yet, this is the type of bass line that can make you cry and that can carry a band. And yeah, the outfits are perfect as well. Very stylish, fun, and quite moving ensemble. I love running their stuff on a loop.

Hilarious the way they’ve got this level of musicianship performing on the bleeding edge of the art form and they’re all dressed up in their traditional outfits! But always a pleasure to listen to, no matter what they wear.

Got to say this is magnificent here by chance and sp glad 😀 reminds me of the Brit funk scene of the late 70’s early 80’s. This track especially gets me thinking Shakatak or early Rah band.. amazing 🤩

Every thing is close to perfect, except the final touch of sound mixing. The saxophone is too loud, could even suppress the drum set.
