    I absolutely love using intrigue in the game and having rulers who specialize in high intrigue and obtain lands in underhanded ways. I just love being a machiavellian ruler in CK3!

      Personally I wish intrigue was more essential to playing CK3, since you can ignore it and do fine

      @LordForwind I have tried using Martial to conquer lands but it is really not my thing, obviously you can't get completely away from it since people are always trying to take away your titles and when you marry into power you are called to aid in battles but 90% of the time I rule through intrigue because I like to. My fiance on the other hand likes to conquer kingdoms in CK3 through Martial and more "traditional" means, intrigue isn't really his thing unless absolutely necessary.

    I have noticed that intrigue is a very good tree for spending 9 months to fail at a 95%/95% skill check six times in a row.

      Fabricating hook being exposed - current count is 10/13 times
      It’s definitely not accurate with the listed success/secrecy

    I personally find intrigue to be the weakest tree for me. I usually blob pretty quick starting from earliest start but I can see how maybe starting much later especially as a vassel or surrounded by much bigger countries maybe then intrigue could be useful.
    Current game got empire of Britannia, won a crusade the put one of my sons in Jerusalem then created my own religion ans made myself pope then had the catholic Pope declare 2 holy wars against me the first I thought was game over but somehow won even though was hugely outnumbered in the first 12k to 25k I managed to survive by fighting the smaller enemy stacks and as my ruler had such high stewardship I could ransom the people I caught for enough money to keep buying mercenaries and won lol
    Also got consecrated and strengthened bloodline and first 2 blood legacys and all my characters are like genius herculean beautiful now... current guy had 14 kids with kingdoms going to the first few.
    Heir gets my empire, (( For inheritance! Managed to work a way to stop any new heirs getting any of my primary Dutchy counties as long as you create a new dutchy and have one available county outside of your primary they will take that insted and you can even give them it before you die to stop the controlling too many dutchy debuff))
    Anyway nice vid!

    • @LordForwind
      @LordForwind  3 года назад +1

      yeah intrigue is more of a cheating tree if you are in a bad start or fighting overly powerful people, if you can blob you dont really need it early on

    Hi, I'm fairly new to the game and I'm dealing with a bit of a situation.
    I wanted to try out intrigue and decided the best coutry to try it out on is one of the irish one's
    I made a overpowered character had my country be vassalized and then schemed.
    I claimed someone elses thrown and murdrerd probably a dozend of his children and siblings but my married daughter and son weren't showing up. Did I do something wrong? Is that not how it works?
    Could you make a guide on how to use intrigue to gain the title of the King above you?

    • @LordForwind
      @LordForwind  2 года назад

      So you have to be in the line of inheritance to murder your way to power easily. The right diplo tree will let you claim the throne and then you could start a faction or revolt to get it. Intrigue isnt going to get you a throne easily but you can start an abduct scheme and have it execute right after you start a war for the throne, capture the king instant win. Or if you married the daughter into their line, you need to have it marriage giving you heirs of your dynasty and have the marriage give eligible children to get the throne. Thats really the best you can do it with, its not helpful gaining land but good at helping you keep it or gain it from family.

      Hmm, then I wonder if there‘s a way to get into the inheritance line without marrying your daughter off

    What I realized is that if you pick the Intrigue lifestyle your vassals don't join in factions so you don't deal with rebellions. I formed the kingdom of holland independent from HRE. Character was great, loved by everyone and no loyalty issues. And then he suddenly died and his 19 year old son took his place. Even tho every vassal including uncles and cousins hated him (-100) no one joined any factions because (I think) he had Intrigue lifestyle. So if your kingdom is on a shaky ground choose intrigue lifestyle. It might save your butt.

    High dread runs are fun, only issue I've had is once I go down that path I'm stuck on it for all my characters unless I want my vassals to rebel within a week for my heir taking power.
    Any chance of a small Dynasty guide? I've been playing CK since CK2 launched however spreading my dynasty effectively has always been an enigma to me.

      It's tough! I have been trying that over the course of several generations in my current game and I always see pop ups of my family members dying and being captured in sieges. I'll set up my newborn child with the grandchild of a foreign ruler and low and behold they lose the throne at some point in those three generations and end up unlanded back at my court... there's a lot of luck/rng involved. xD Having said that, having the fertility dynasty perk and marrying dynasty members off into foreign lands (with enough numbers and time + RNG) give you a solid chance at having a few of them rise the ranks to greatness and boosting your renown eventually.

    I still lack experience in this tbh, but I am starting to understand the nasty, nasty things you can do with it :)
    Fabricate hooks combined with Abduct can actually win wars for you ... it does however requires a lot of preparation, and, most of all, quite some time: You need a claim big enough to be worth it (duke minimum, but apparently king above is better), then fabricate hooks on key members on their courts, and use said hook to abduct their rulers for max chance to succeed ... Declare war just before launching the abduction attempt.
    And as you said, if you succeed in the abduction it's an instant 100% war score, instant win. :)
    And fabricate hooks makes it a lot easier it seems.
    But like I said, I lack experience in this ... though the intrigue tree is by far my favourite :)
    PS: Seduction can be used to get heir with claims on other thrones or spread your family renown by having heirs inherit titles ( ... and if venomous spider bites the title holder and key heirs "by accident" ... that's just life isn't it? ) xD

    A focus guide would be nice for educating kids. Before in ck2 you could designate it the day they're born. This doesn't seem so in ck3. The player has to do it when they're 5 or 6. Better to establish an educator early and have that focus done asap. I just noticed this today and idk if theyre going to fix that. Maybe they did and I just need to update my game
