Have you considered going with a few acre of shorter day maturity corn to get combining earlier in the season? I had an 80 day channel run 200 bushel here in eastern ND this year, and it was dry. It was a week and a half earlier than the 87 day corn. The 87 day was 16.5 % and yielded 10 bu more. Best corn harvest I ever have had. Beans sucked.
Quarter inch ratchet or a piece of round stock put it in the sprocket and spin the feeder house by hand to walk it back on one way or the other. Had to do this many times running a worn out chain
There was an estate farm sale here, guy farmed 900 acres solo. They said he used to toss a Honda trail 70 in his corn to get himself back and forth.... toss your electric bike in the corn head?
Pretty sure he said the trailer was half loaded, then backed in so the loaded half was under cover with the trailer inclined forward so the grain wouldn't get wet from rain falling g in the FRONT half of the trailer. So yeah he would kinda need to shovel THAT water out of the front of the dump trailer don't you think ? Chris is using everything he can to get corn off as quick as he can. He's getting it done 👍
@@mattcoleman6911and sometimes you just end up causing yourself more grief he would have been better off not to have combined that 500 bushels then have to shovel that water out. Combined it later just as fast and a lot easier than that. Lmao.
@Otherrandomguy42 well the way I look at it, for a bit more effort he's got a full load of corn off the farm and in the grain bin which he's getting paid for rather than a half/ full load still sitting on the stalks with another heavy band of rain / snow rolling in. I know which one I'D rather have. As I said, he's getting it done
Your shortness of breath reminds me of myself I have farmers lung and gave up dairy farming because of it some of your other symptoms are consistent with farmers lung. doctors here in Nova Scotia Canada are not very familiar with this ailment I was diagnosed with it after a blood test which had to be done in the USA maybe worth checking out if you haven’t already
Chris keeping the pressure on couple more day you can throw your hat through the combine finished for another year. In that area of New York is all the landlords on cash rent? It’s that way here where we farm. Is the feeder house chain out of adjustment or can you tightened it up? My guess is it’s at the limit.

In most cases the indiviual links are stretched. That is why they don’t fit exactly on the sprocket. The stretched links can not grib all the way into the sprocket. That’s why they can‘t transmit enough force and start to slip.
@@geraldvetter4640 yep you're right on , same thing in a drago head last year. In the end new chains and adjusters and flawless on both runs up to here
Bro wtf. Why are you so careless. That's so unacceptable to have that much corn on the ground when 1. corn prices suck and 2 you're not the monopoly man. How can you watch the corn bounce off the auger hopper all over the ground. It would take 30 mins to make a plywood chute to keep it off the ground. God its so frustrating watching this sometimes.
Relax bro or go watch something else if it affects you so much. Do you have any idea how much a bushel of corn is? There's maybe $10 worth of corn on the ground
Great to see your tile work paying off!
Congratulations on the harvest production. Keep it coming👍👍👍
Making great progress Chris. Ahead of last year and that's always a plus.

@@d6joe its also a hassle to combine beans for duffy because you have to go at a angle instead off going straight
Typical farmer. Always wants one more load.😊
Unfortunatly you aren't done with corn on the homefarm there is still corn in the head

now that's a great idea
I always thought it could be hung on the back of the tractors
Any improvements are marathons not sprints. The long-term is definitely the goal. As they say Rome was not built in a day.
The top sprockets have to be lined up. They are not all cast the same
that driveway is going to stink lol
Ur girlfriends dog enjoying the ride
20:37 Just trying to make sure you get your steps in :D
Whos brown dog is with Duffy

Norman just loves the corn up there
😂😂😂Go down to the John Deere dealership. They've got the new snow cone harvester in. ❤❤❤
You can add 6” boards to the sides to get more in the tank
He doesn't want the extra weight on the hills. (Top heavy)

How many bushels of corn do you think you're going to have this year 🤔

Do you need to wear a high vis vest when walking through the bush encase of hunters
thats a long time to combine 137 acres .
You’re obnoxious and super jealous sounding. Must be a local hater with nothing better to do
When harvest is done take 36hrs off work don't ignore it or SO has to lockdown you in the house
Could taking out some links in the chain help with the slipping of the feeder chain? Enjoy your videos. Also may God bless you, bud.❤
