- Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever..." as re-written and interpreted by Principal Zhang, Dr. Moore, Ms. Oberfield, Ms. Schechter, Ms. Thoms, Mr. Grossman (electric guitar), Mr. Weil and Dr. Mandler (keyboard, singing) at Stuyvesant High School's packed last Open Mic in 2013. It was quite a blast.
I remember when you came to me the last time
Saying, "This is it I've had enough," 'cause like
You hadn't done your paper in a month
For you could not double space. What?
You cut my class for after prom and you
Study for the SATs while you skip school
Then you give me a note with some made-up excuse
I think, "I hate you," this note stinks, I sign it, "I love you."
Ooh, you're in the long library lines
Thinking ooh, this time I'm getting in, I'm getting in
We will never ever ever teach kids so clever,
You must never ever ever cheat on Regents together,
You go to the half-floor, to the math team, to the park
And you, will never ever ever, forget this time together
Like, ever...
The school is different than it was before
Cause like there wasn't Mr. Teitel anymore
And we lost our winter break further more
Because of that super storm. What?
You have a shirt for your team, and your club, and your class,
and your Sing, and your pub, and your play, and your homeroom,
and your subway lines, and every college, middle school and your other teams,
and your other clubs
I miss all your discussion and debates
And you telling me which animes are great
And me always getting blown away by Sing
Frankly you guys can do anything
Ooh, you're in the long library line
Thinking ooh, this time I'm getting in, I'm getting in
We will never ever ever teach kids so clever,
You must never ever ever cheat on Regents together,
You go to the half-floor, to the math team, to the park
And you, will never ever ever, forget this time together
We'd like to thank Boaz R. Weinstein
And we'd like to say, "Thank you a million..."
Uggg... So he comes up to me and he's like, "I really want to rewrite this paper,"
And I'm like... "I just... I mean like this is exhausting
you are never ever gonna get a grade higher than an A plus on this paper. Like, eve!r"
No!
We will never ever ever teach kids so clever,
You must never ever ever cheat on Regents together,
You go to the half-floor, to the math team, to the park
And we will never ever ever forget this time together.
Curious: any Stuy alumni that still come back to this video once in a while to reminisce?
This is AMAZING! I love the passion and dedication these teachers clearly have, as well as their love for their students. :-) Such a wonderful display!! Plus the singing and lyrics ain't bad!
I entered SHS in 1958. I still remember what Mr. Sissman said during the first meeting of his biology class. His words were, "There will be a mid-term and a final exam in this course. You will also take the New York State Regents exam AND GOD HELP ANY OF YOU WHO FAIL THAT EXAM!" Nice job on that song sung by the faculty chorus. The 1958 - 61 SHS faculty certainly did not look like the present faculty. BTW, in my day at SHS, all the Regents cheating students would have been booted out.
Seems simultaneously like yesterday and ancient history

I have uploaded the lyrics, but I cannot synchronize the captions...
STUYVESANT HIGH SCHOOL MAN. WOOT.
Does anyone have a version that either has captions or good sound quality?
Bit bad sound-quality wise, but still one of the most awesome songs I've ever heard, in AND out of Stuy XP
