Quicker way to solve: Recognize that specific humidity and humidity ratio are the same. Find 25 degC @ 30% rh on the psychometric chart. From this point draw a straight line to the far right axis (humidity ratio) on the chart . The line will meet the axis just below 0.006 kg moisture / kg dry air.
I don't know much about PPI especially for the Mechanical FE exam. They've been in this FE prep space for a long time now. Just make sure they have updated resources that cover the style of the latest 2024 FE exam which includes a balance of alternative type questions and the classic multiple choice questions.
Your answer choice needs a zero .0059. That's what I got using the chart too. Also do you know how to use the protractor looking thing on top left that says sea level? I did not think I'd need this for Environmental but I apparently do.
Oh I see. Sorry for the confusion for this old problem. I would probably do these a little differently nowadays. You seriously got that?! That's crazy lol. Especially for the Environmental FE exam. I've never used that proctor before but here's an example showing it in action: www.directhub.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Proctor-Psychometrics.pdf
@DIRECTHUB FE EXAM PREP Did have a question about psychrometrics on FE but will on the PE environmental. There seems to be a few thermo questions which I find odd. That protractor thing looks confusing. I doubt I will need to worry about it. But thanks for the information I will look at more tomorrow.
@@dand7056 You're welcome Dan! Definitely, I think it might not even be worth your time to cover this proctor thing. Oddly, There's little information about it online. It's great to see you're preparing for the PE already! Keep me posted on your progress. Thanks man!

agree
Isn't it faster to look at the Metric psychometric graphs and solve it?
Answer is 0.00589 I tripple check it.
have you heard of the PPI2Pass program to help with FE exams? if so, how similar are your questions to that of the PPI ones??
